NightmareZ is a side-scrolling platform action game with lots of fancy features, multiple enemies and retro visuals. This is my first major game project. I will soon put it on Steam Greenlight.

 

Game Story:

Who could ever think the Doom's day to arrive so early? The world has been completely consumed by Darkness(Dark energy). The zombies and evil spirits manifested themselves to rule over the world. But this is not an impossible task to restore the human beings who have already been lost. The fate is displaying the NIGHTMARE of being consumed by darkness spontaneously. In this catastrophic situation, a speck of light of HOPE appears. The person who has been lured to the battle field by the king of darkness, is not a human being but a demon with unusual demonic power. He wants to fight against the evil forces.
He had lost his family 5 years ago due to the sudden attack of evil spirits. He is now guided by a saint who provides him the instructions from time to time. He is the son of the greatest warrior, Zaxina. He is Razor. There is a deep mystery behind the demonic powers of Razor, which his brother knows. Razor had never seen his brother from birth and hopes to meet him someday. His current aim is to seize and annihilate the evil demonic forces!

V1.3.1 is coming soon with some new features! It 95% done already. Only 5% to go for the final release. You can expect this game to be finally released in October.

The game is about to be completed. Some screenshots  are given below:

There are also some levels where the saint talks to player about various important aspects of the game. The saint provides instructions to the player from time to time and hence guide him throughout the whole game. But the irony is that the saint appears once at the beginning and another time at the end.

 

This game is expected to be released on 15th April, 2015. Only 1 week left for the release. Hope you will like it.

NightmareZ V1.2 is coming soon with the following changes:

1. Movements(Controls) will be made smoother and easier. 

2. Capability of shooting powerful bullets while in the air even when the player rotates.[All Direction Shooting Skill] 

3. Creating checkpoints so that the game is automatically saved at certain stage of each level. 

4. Adding more levels. 

5. Some new characters and some secret bonuses.

 

Release date has not been decided yet.

Here is the changes made till now. The player now has the capability of destroying many enemies at once. This power is used with the expense of two bullets.

I am now designing the new level called The Land of Snow - Phase 1. I have added an enemy which shoots the player, a flying creature and a centipede.

U shaped magnets are places in such a way that the saw can move between them.

What are you needing the $1000 Indiegogo fundraising for?

Even after reading through the campaign page, all I come away with is that $900 will be for licensing, and the other hundred for a Steam submission (that's understandable).

What licensing do you require to complete the game, and further still, why would you need licensed products for your platform scrolling game?

 

To me, the campaign page didn't really answer the usual "so, why do you want my money?" question very deeply, except to broadly state it is needed for licensing.

Thanks for the encouragement! I am developing this game with many complex features and I think the artwork needs to be improved. For this, I have to hire some artists to speed up the development process. I have used some background images which needs to be licensed. However, the background used in the game are edited to suite the game style. But there still applies some licensing fees which must be covered here. You can consider $900 as my goal. Since, $100 will be used for Steam Greenlight and Publishing purpose. Since, this is my first crowdfunding campaign, I know I can't reach my goal but the funding type on Indiegogo is flexible. That means, I will keep the funding which I raise and this will be used up completely in improving some artwork, introducing many new feautures stated below. Most of the money will be required for new character animations, graphics design and also changing some unwanted features in the game. You are mistaken. $900 will not only be used in licensing but also for introducing the new features. I am working on Programming, level designing and a few artworks.

 

Features which are planned to be introduce even if I don't reach my goal:

I have determined to finish this game even if the funding is unsuccessful, the features are stated below:

 

1. I will introduce a dozen of new characters!

 

2. More 10 levels to be introduced! It was initially planned that more 5 levels would be added to the game. But later, I have decided to introduce more 5 levels( totally 10 new levels). I am very excited because I really have some awesome ideas to be used in the game. For example, I will make a level called "The Dark City" which will be designed in a unique manner. (clyde)

 

3. Introducing some new security and laser systems. Laser systems will definitely change the whole look of the game. The game still has a potential and I think if it is done well, it can be the NEXT BIG THING!!

 

4. Introducing moving platforms which the game is still lacking. This can make the gameplay intensely engaging and enjoyable.

 

5. Making some new background images to be used in the game keeping in mind that it will take more 3 or 4 months to finish the game project.

 

6. More new features will be added.(Let me keep this a secret. 8-) ) I will let you know shortly.

 

After all, I will definitely finish this project and I am working on it as hard as I can.

Indiegogo campaign has ended and it was failure though. But still I have not given up yet. I have just released a new version of NightmareZ with major changes!

I am currently working on final levels of NightmareZ. So, there are a few days left for the final release. However, before the game is finally released, there will be one last build containing 11 levels and 12th one will arrive only in final release of the game. More updates will be provided soon!

 

I will edit this post when I add the features one by one.
