Hazardz
I think it would be realistic like how they don't panic so maybe they should be able to withstand pain? Of course it would have to be balanced to not be overpowered. Also they maybe they could sleep while in agony. It could also be a trait maybe? WolfeClaw
Reminds me of that story where a marine was shot in the chest and just plugged the bullet hole with his thumb while running after the shooter. But yes, I quite like this idea provided drawbacks are added. I can imagine something sleep related would make sense, maybe waking up panicked (making you very susceptible to zombies in your sleep due to a decrease in accuracy). Hazardz
I also noticed the police officer starts with better aiming? Maybe because the veteran is no longer in service but still that's really strange
Nightmaster
It would be better that they dont panic that easy. Pain tolerance is not something you get from simple be a veteran, either from the police or any other military force around the world. Pain tolerance is something that is more commom among people that trained themselves for that. Hazardz
unmog
Exactly right. Maybe if your character could build up their own natural pain tolerance as the game goes on would be better, just as normal people freak out a lot at first at the sight of a zombie but gradually become desensitized. Substance455
Veterans could have a pain resistance training. (To not leak Intel when they get captured and tortured) It would be hard to build it up due to how doomed you are if you get scratched by a zombie. Edd
If Veterans were to have higher pain resistance, the developers would also have to increase the negative skill points you get with the Veteran already (which is -8, by the way), in order to balance things out. I think it is good the way it is now.
BetaSpectre
I feel like the Vet is good enough as is IMO, not that pain's ever been a real issue for me. I'm usually dead if it would be.
Marinus
I'm not sure why a veteran would have more pain-resistance than people from other physically demanding jobs.
King jjwpenguin
I say its a new trait. I mean i could be a veteran and have terrible pain tolerance. It would be a nice job bonus though.
