Littering 2.1 [EN\PL\FR\RU\ES]

WARNING!: Don't use with Build 34, this mod will need an update.

Some time ago I wondered what happens with all the items after our character is done eating\drinking\using, do the packs and cans vanish into thin air? I didn't like that idea so I made a mod that adds a ton of trash. Cigarette butts, empty packs of crisps, tin cans etc. Why? Because WHY NOT?

It's a pretty much useless mod that adds some... eh... realism?
Will you make it to the bin or will you litter all around?

Can you make it so empty shells or bullets drop on the ground once you fire?

If I knew how I would because that's a great idea but I'm not all that good at coding and that would require some. Can't make any promises but I'll look into it after the weekend.

Here's one more update and I'm done with this mod for the weekend.

Update:
Version 0.7
- Added limited NecroForge support (Food items will appear in NecroForge menu)
- Trash items will now appear in the bins around the world!
- Trash items don't stack as much.
- Added new items Energy Drink (2 Variations) and Vodka

Energy Drinks can be found in same places as cans of Pop they remove some tiredness and fatigue. Vodka functions the same as any other alcohol in-game but it's a little more effective as a desinfectant. Those items were from a different mod I was working on but I just decided to merge the two.

Another minor update. Also, I experimented with shell casings but couldn't get anything that worked well :/ Maybe some day when I'm better at lua :P

Version 0.8:
- Added missing trash (Disinfectant, Alcohol Wipes, Peanut Butter, Bleach, etc. all leave some trash item when depleted)
- Added Cola (Variation of Pop)
- Tweaked distribution because some items spawned too much.

Is the bleach compatible with dirty water mod?

Most likely no it's not. It's likely not compatible with any mods that alter the same default items that my mod alters, as simple as my modification (1 line) may be :/

  • 2 weeks later...

How does one wash bowls? I don't have time to play right now but I'm curious. :P

I'm playing with this mod on my current character and I'm really enjoying it so far! It's a lot more interesting digging around in trash to get what I need, rather than it just being there. It's the small things. :)

Just checked and it's only dish soap, though a dish towel would make sense, as well as give it another use.

Thanks for the feedback, I decided to make it so.

Version 0.9a

- Washing dishes requires Dish Towel too.

Also if anyone wants to know, Dish Soap can be found in the same places as Dish Towels, Dirty Pots and Bowls can also spawn in trash cans, washed and used. Single Dish Soap item should last for a good while, it's so because it is a finite resource. I'll probably include a recipe that does not use Dish Soap but takes more water and time to wash dishes.

Awesome job!

Can you still use dirty bowls when cooking? That'd probably take a lot of altering recipes to pull off, but you could give it a small chance of making you sick, perhaps? Just throwing out ideas, I'm really enjoying this as it is. :)

I doubt it, like you noticed it would take a lot of recipe altering, little beyond my skill level. I might look into it when I have a better understanding of evolved recipes etc.

I will add a "Scrub" option to clean bowls and pots without dish soap at the cost of much more water and time so it'll still be possible when Dish Soap runs out. Also, I'll make some trash items useful as campfire fuel but it'll be as effective as a single sheet of paper so still pretty much useless unless you have a ton of it.

Edit: I might also add some items to foraging. Not the completely useless ones though as I don't think any character would pick them up :P

And this will probably be last update for a while.

Version 1.0
- Dishes can be scrubbed without Dish Soap at cost of more water and time
- Some trash can be used as camp fire fuel or for starting a fire
- You can find Empty Bottles, Plastic Bags, Nails, Rusty Knifes etc. by foraging

Finding certain items like nails requires a high skill in foraging because they're small and therefore hard to notice. While I couldn't figure out how to make certain things much more rare than others this addition should not leave you with a ton of empty bottles and plastic bags, they're about as rare as logs. It might need some tweaking.

If you don't like this feature go to the mod's media\lua\server folder and remove the Farming folder.
