brazorf
Hi all, i'm sorry for this noob question but i cant get rid of this. I've PZ 29.4, downloaded from steam.Today, i've bought another as a gift for my brother, same build 29.4 When i access the "multiplayer" feature, i can't see any server, but i have an empty form with ip, port, etc. fields. However, my brother has a "public servers" button that i can't see. How is this possible?

How is this possible? You might have a firewall/anti-virus program that's blocking connections to the public server list.
brazorf
I've already checked that. Anyway a firewall could block the incoming server list, but i have not the public severs button, this doesn't seem related.
EnigmaGrey
If you don't have the public server list button, your game can't communicate to the outside world.
brazorf
So you think that if i have communication problems that button won't show up?
harakka
Yes, that is exactly how it works currently. If the client can't connect to the master server, the button won't show.
brazorf
Mmh, ok.However, i tried to manually setup some of the servers listed on this forums. I don't see outbound blocks on my firewall, and i've got: 1) "server request a password" response2) "server build is 30.x so you can't join" response3) connection failed 1 and 2 prove that this is not a network issue, or i wouldn't be able to get these responses. Any other clue?
brazorf
More info. Watching at the logs in the console at bootstrap stage, one of the following happens: - connectiong to public server list: timeout trying to connect to public server list - java exception having issues with www.projectzomboid.com host resolution (Unknown host Exception) The first is happening 99% of time, while i've spotted the latter just a couple of times. EnigmaGrey
Have you tried adding an exception for java.exe in your firewall?

Any other clue? It doesn't actually, it just means that the server bounces you off when it sees certain information of yours doesn't match up. brazorf
How can that be a firewall or networking issue when i'm reaching a server and getting its response?
