I have been thinking about this for a long time. And since after months of not being motivated to work on the mod and I don't want it to die with me I am thinking about putting it up on GitHub and allow some dedicated modders to take over for me. One who have already contributed as well as other who have put out patches on their own. This mod is huge now and needs all the help its can get. Note by doing this I want the moders to follow the ideal of "more is more" and be additive to the mod rather than culling stuff they don't like. Removing things should be last resort and only if its causing major problems. I also feel that if i gave it be a group rather than one person that it will less likley be abused since the others can fix anything too extreme. Think Wikipedia.

 

If you are one of these modders who wish to help please let me know. Especially if you have experience with GitHub.

Bro, why don't you continue to develop your mod? Tired of pz? Not interested? Is that time gone?
GitHub is good. Guys can act together. I hope so.

Anyone who responds to the post above: if possible, make fashionable qualities. Remember that not only Americans play PZ, it is necessary that all countries of the world can translate the mod into their language. Please use variables so that all mods can be translated into different languages.

Outstanding news.  Hydrocraft will live on, and you can get a well deserved break from it. Thanks Hydro for the hours of memories and enjoyment you can to thousands of players!

I mentionned this on the official Hydrocraft page on Steam but I guess I might as well do it here too as it looks more active and I thought I would say hi as well :)

 

Hydromancer has granted me the honor of continuing his work.

 

I already have started fixing the most common issues and a patch is currently available on Steam called Hydrocraft Patch.

 

Farming works!! - no more Plowed Land

 

I will keep updating this for the time being while Hydro gets his other stuff in order.

 

Please tell me if there is a need for a direct download link for the patch and I will set this up as soon as I can, just didnt have the time yet to do that.

The GitHub has been made. I still need to upload all the image files since you can only upload 100 files at a time and there are like 50,000 image files.

Thanks to DemolitionDerby we got everything uploaded and the bug fixing can begin.

 

We also made a contributor Discord to discuss stuff so if you have contributed to the mod in the past please contact me so i can send you a discord invite.

Slowly more of the old team as well as server Admins like Beard (Redboid) and Paul (Dead Pixels) have been helping out too.

Farming system revamp - crops do not stay in "Plowed Land" stage anymore (NEED to REPLANT all crops after update)
ISCompassMenu errors when right-clicking a stack of items
Attaching duct tape pouches and attaching/removing bags from dogs does not destroy content anymore (Thanks to tommysticks)

Tested bug reports - No issues found (build 40.43)

Fishing with custom insects and food seems not to work properly and gives errors. (Tested Vanilla and HC Items)
(Tested MP) Sleeping in a tent, sleeping bag and car working
(Tested MP) Timer on animals does not seem to work (Player has to be in the cell for the timer to work) - also deactivated debug information in TimeTracker so you will NOT see the timer state changes in the console anymore. Found rogue character in file which "might" resolve some issues.

Just a quickie, do I have do start a new game to start playing Hydrocraft?

 

I mean, I already have a save and never used Hydrocraft (or any mod), if I install it now, it will work on my save?

Starting a new game is recommended but not 100% required.

 

Problem will mostly be around loot, areas that are already spawned will not respawn the Hydrocraft loot so you could just respawn the loot on the entire server and you should be good to go.

Thanks for your reply! But can I do this in Solo (single player) mode or it's a multiplayer server thing? And if I can, wouldn't this "reset" my containers full with loot in my fortified base?

Hey,

 

It is pretty straightforward in MP as you just need to change a setting and it will be taken into consideration when starting the server.

 

Also, the game has a setting where "only containers with less than X amount of items" will be re spawned when spawning loot so your own containers are safe as long as they have more items that what the setting is configured for.

 

This setting is "LootRespawn = 4," (Can be found in SanboxVars) where the container has to have 4 items or less and it will spawn again.

 

Other settings is "HoursForLootRespawn=0" in the "Server Settings INI", pretty self explanatory.

 

Single Player seems to be "more complicated" in the way that you have to "create a new game" with the settings you want and overwrite your old game settings with the new settings as I don't think it can be modified directly (anyone correct me if I am wrong).

I seem to be getting an error every time i try to check my stick traps. i don't get the animal, but i get xp and i can keep checking the trap for infinite xp.

i only have super survivors and some map mods enabled.
