Add an SA80 (5.56) or a L96A1 (.308(not to be confused with the L115A3 which is .338 lapua, which is super rare) and maybe a few air rifles like the BSA ultra multishot .22 like the red ryder but more powerful, could kill a zombie?

 

For the SA80, unfortunately that gun is incredibly uncommon (as far as I know) in the US and I don't think they made a civilian export model (that I know of, show me a link and I may reconsider). As for the L96A1 I could put it in but I would be putting it in under its civilian name the AI-Precision Marksman (or more likely the Arctic Warfare that replaced it) , as the L96A1 is the British Military designation for the rifle which would not be commonly used in the States. As for the BSA ultra, I could be convinced to add it if you can find me another pistol or similar gun that uses .22 caliber pellets, as I dislike only having one gun per ammo... The bb guns use .117 pellet I believe.

 

Add a Franchi SPAS-12 Shotgun (12 Gauge) a Spas 12 is a shotgun made in Italia  and according to the Wikipedia only 1850 where shipped to the U.S and is mostly used for Military and Police Work.  

 

That is a possibility, I could have it as a rare body or police station spawn. Good research on the subject

 

Can you add a 44. Magnum?

 

I already have several .44s included. They are Colt Anaconda, Ruger Redhawk and S&W Model 29. All three are revolvers, which 44 are you referring? I know that there is a .44 Desert Eagle, but that would be ungainly, uncommon and expensive. Probably difficult to find in rural Kentucky.

 

Sorry all for not checking this in a timely manner. I am still working on this but it is a slow process (not because it is hard but because I am busy and/or lazy)

 

ObviousOllie has offered to help me move this along so that is nice/helps so thank you to him and maybe we will see a working version much sooner than I thought.

How about the H&K SL8? It's an semi-automatic rifle which is the civilian version of the G36 made by H&K. They use 5.56/.223 rounds.

Not sure if they're common but I'm sure they're available in gun stores around the US.

would your mod add new outlooks of guns? Having a crossbow looked like a shotgun is quite annoying.

 

Unfortunately no, as far as I know it is still not possible to add gun models.

Keep it up!! Don't listen to the negative comments at all. Are you planning on doing custom sprites for some or all weapons?

 

Thanks! Er... what negative comments? Thankfully no one has trolled me yet, but thanks for the support!

 

And of course, making the sprites is probably my favorite part! I have custom sprites for everything added in the game, are there any previews you would like to see?

 

Otherwise, you will be able to see them once I get a releasable version, which may be a bit yet because it is tax season so I am busy. Though, I have made good progress, I am almost done with distributions which only leaves connecting mods to guns, finishing up the repairs file (which should not take long at all), then testing, etc.

 

Also good news I looked at the reloads file and it should be fairly easy for my to work up a code for stripperclips/speedloaders, which is particularly exciting for me

As for the HK SL8, I love that gun!Don't know why I forgot about it... I will add that as a rare civilian spawn.

Keep in mind it is a 32x32 pic so it won't look amazing... but that is the icon size for the game

I was planning on being finished this weekend, but as always, life/family/time constraints get in the way.

 

I finished the Reloads file which leaves Distributions then some testing to go.

You can make models for now. The problem is modding them in as separate models and not overwriting. I think lemmy is working on a system for this (if I read his post correctly.)

Well, that is awesome!

 

However now you are forcing me to reveal that I suck at 3d modelling.

 

I could do some re-skins of the current models when we get down to it but that would only get me so far.

 

If people want to help me with that part, it would be greatly appreciated... I can do 2d art fairly well but I have little to no experience with 3d.

 

Anyway,

 

Almost done with the first version of the mod!

 

Just a bit more distributions coding which I will finish up on this week. So check in later!

Dang, you like your obscure/russian armaments! I'll address each one individually that way you can correct me if I misinterpret:

M1A1 Thompson .45 SMG - Possible, though in real life Kentucky it'sd be very rare to find, though due to the age of the weapons, the automatic version would be grandfathered in to be usable. I might add it as an ultra rare spawn. I could also add a semi-auto version that would be slightly more common.

 

American-180 .22LR SMG - Similar to the above... actually pretty much exactly like the above...

 

Colt 9mm SMG - I can add a semi-auto version of this as they are fairly common to find, I can't imagine there are many auto versions available anywhere...

 

KRISS Vector .45 SMG - I can add the CRB semi-auto variant as a very rare civvie spawn, Though I don't know if the military or police in the US use the FA version, so I don't think I can add that, though I could be wrong. Also, it takes .45 Glock mags which would make the semi-auto version compatable with Glock 21 mags. (as far as I know)

 

Spectre M4 various caliber SMG- An Italian SMG that was made after the assault weapons ban... Don't think I can add that one and maintain any "real life" feel. There was a civilian semi-auto import with a reduced magazine but that would make it loose what made the spectre cool, E.G. the high cyclic rate and the high capacity coffin mags.

 

PPsh-41 7.62 Tokarev SMG - A WW2 Russian SMG... I would be mind blown if you could find an operable one in the States... Also, it uses the 7.62 tokarev round which is difficult to find in itself. Unless you can convince me otherwise, I'm gonna leave this one out.

 

Kel-Tec PLR-16 5.56 SMG - I could add this one in though it would only be in the semi-auto capacity. It is not used in any official capacity in the US and the plant (where there might be FA versions) is in Florida...

 

Mac-10/Mac-11 .45/.380 smgs - I could add the Mac-10 as a FA very veyr rare spawn, as some crazy gun nuts might have one hidden away... The Mac-11 I am more reluctant only because it would be the only .380 ACP gun on my list and I hate haveing 1 gun to 1 ammo....

 

OTs-02 Kiparis 9mm makarov SMG - similar reasoning to the PPSh, difficult to find rounds and Russian SMG, especially because I can't find any civilian import version of this gun.

 

PP-2000 9mm SMG - Similar to the OTs-12, a russian SMG never made for civilian export...

 

Uzi 9mm or .45 SMG - I might add this for the same reason as the Mac-10, also these are old enough to have been grandfathered in to the assault weapons ban

 

RMB-93 12g shotgun - Seems like a legit shotgun, but it lists as only being commercially available in Canada, Russia and Italy... so I think I might have to pass on it...

 

SRM Arms M1216 12 Shotgun - I can add this one as a rare civvie spawn, the capacity and magazine make it interesting. Though the fact that there is only one type of shotgun shell makes the 4 tube ability a bit moot... for balance sake I would have to make this VERY rare.... 16 round cap and semi-auto... jeesh

 

USAS-12 - I'm going to give this one a straight up no for this mod... I don't want this turning into the expendibles zombie version...

 

Vepr-12 - Due to laws in the US, the magazine size ifs restricted to 5, also all kalashnikov (and subsidiary) weapons have been banned by executive order as of July 2014. I am sure there were some that made it here prior to that so I will add it. It fills an interesting niche for my guns as a mag fed semi-auto shotgun (all the other ones I have currently are tube fed)

 

Keep in mind, I am trying not to turn my mod into gun porn (as much as I want to at times).

 

I will at some point (much later) make a mod with a fairly exhaustive gun-porn-y list of guns.

Thanks for taking the time to go through the list I mostly suggested smgs cause that area seems a bit dull but I am happy and surprised that you took your time to go over each one and for that sir I thank you and my last suggestion for now P.S I did research this time is the Stevens 320 Pump is a 12 Gauge shotgun that is made by Savage Arms and from what I looked at can be found in Kentucky so again thank you my good sir (fedora) Also when you make your gun porn-y gun mod don't forget the list I made lol.

All the above mentioned gun additions (including your savage arms shotgun which will be a quick add, will be added in the next release.

 

I say that because, I have my ALPHA test version done! YAY!

quick question are the regular zomboid guns supposed to be disabled cause if so they are not just going to let you know k also so far it seems your guns and ammo are not spawning going to keep looking around though also how do attachments like red dot sight work just curious.

Statues ok I came to 2 conclusions ether 1 I am the worlds most unlucky player or 2 guns and ammo are not spawning so hope it gets fixed if its 2

Yes, I tried to disable them, are they still showing up?

 

If so I'll need to fix that...

Also, let me know if you get police or military weapons off of dead bodies. I am not sure if I did  that coding correctly...

So far I have not got any guns of zombies yet could just be my luck though like I said though I think spawning may be a bit messed up.

Also I am currently using build 31 k

 

Guns spawning on zombies is meant to be fairly rare.

 

I might be able to do testing of my own tonight to make sure the spawning is working correctly, though we shall see, life has a way of taking precident.

 

Guns stores and police stations have the highest chance (pretty much guaranteed in most cases) to get stuff

Helloh, i'm new to the forums (ex-lurker now), created this account to say there's an error in the ORGMDistribution.lua at line 206 'then' expected near 'local'

Throwing in 'then' at the location continued me down the file with more errors of the same style, then i recieved an error at line 665 'end' expected <to close 'if' at line 582> near 'elseif'

I'm just chimming this in because with my previous experience with lua, when an error pops up it doesn't run the .lua at all. Hope this helps a bit. :)
