bloopton
Rainsford is a sidescroller with maze, stealth, and fast-paced action mechanics. Originally it simply a small one level game meant to test out our new SFML engine, but we've decided to expand upon it a bit, putting effort into the art and the ambiance of the game. The player navigates through jungle and mansion portions of the game, each divided into rooms, segments, and areas that can be accessed through doors, clearings, etc. A large part of the "combat" involves utilizing shrubbery and nearby "doors" as we call it, to evade enemies and use an enemy's ai against itself. Throughout the game you will be chased by dogs, mosquitos, Ivan, and the musket wielding Zaroff. Here's a gif of an unpopulated segment we just developed that showcases the artwork pretty well: Also, here is an example of one aspect of stealth, the super advanced environmental stealth mechanic: Any questions of feedback about the game are appreciated! nasKo and Realmkeeper
robbiehunt
I would love to see the stealth mechanic in action! I've prototyped a few stealth mechanics - they facinate me! But ultimately I don't have the right mind for fleshing out those kinds of games, I think (at least, not yet)Great ambience, great aesthetic - can't wait to see this developed further!
