  1. I own the gog.com version, would be cool if proof of that purchase could get me the steam version at a good price. not free, just charge me enough to cover overhead and such for a one-time purchase. this allows me to download the workshop steam mods, access the steam player-base of the community and play with them, and gives me access to more frequent updates. GOG owners have to wait until we're caught up with steam before we can play with those players, some of them won't play with us because they can't tell if we're VAC Banned or something, and even with third party programs we can't always download the steam workshop mods when the mod authors don't upload a gog.com friendly version. (which doesn't require tweaking of the authors mod, but awareness that gog players can and would want to use their mods) to reiterate: i'm not saying "give me it free" just "i already paid money for the game, let me pay a small fee to have it on another platform instead of paying full price" sure it cost them money to have it on steam and to get this idea going, which is why i'd be find with like, paying 5$ for the steam copy.
  2. Hey everyone, I've been having a weird problem lately while trying to play on a provate steam server through the ''Host'' option at the menu. At first, i was able to make two servers. In both servers a friend of mine couldn't join because apparently he wasn't whitelisted. The instructions on a little box when i first entered the server said that to whitelist him i just had to click his ''name'' twice. I have no idea where, it didn't specify if i remember correctly. After that i just simply couldn't make another server, it would always time out or lose connection when it got to loading into the server itself. After a while i tried entering a friend's steam server just like mine and was timed out again. I deleted the saves on the multiplayer folder, and for the first time iw as able to enter on a steam server. When he closed it and i tried to connect into it again, i was timed out again, even though i deleted all files on the multiplayer saves folder again before trying it. Does anyone know why i can't seem to connect? Everything works fine until the point of actually loading the server. I'm getting tired of all those ''time out''s. M700N UK Server [PVE]

Hi all, I thought I would make a new thread on here to post any updates to the server that I am making. These include things like mod installs, mod updates, PZ updates etc. It can also be a place for any suggestions to how the server can be improved. The details for the server are; Server Name - M700N UK Server [PVE] IP Address - 86.17.179.178 Port - 16261 The mods that I currently have installed to the latest update are; Cremation, Hydrocraft, Movable Fridges and Electric Lights. 4. It looks like the dedicated server (https://steamdb.info/app/380870/)is set to the wrong branch (IWBUMS). I'm on Ubuntu Server 16.04 and there is a client server mismatch when a steam version client attempts to connect to this dedicated server. I am using steamcmd to keep the server up to date. Steam version client is running 39.66.3. (ran integrity check already) Steam version server is running 37.67.3 (IWBUMS??). I am on the normal branch and am using `./steamcmd.sh +login anonymous +app_update 380870 validate +quit` as my update command. Thanks in advance.
  5. hi, im hosting a stable branch server for a few friends. two days ageo steam updated the stable branch of teh client, but not the steam dedicated server. i cant upgrade the server nor can we downgrade our clients, what am i supposed to do now?
  6. So what's the procedure switching from Steam to a dedicated server? I set the dedicated server up, copied the sandbox and config files, then I copied the server map files and etc. Is there anything else I need to do? I explained to my friends how to copy their map_p file for the player character but it seems extremely buggy and laggy after switching. Like the map isn't loading properly for them, and for one person in particular, there was a delay of about 3 minutes for any text to display in chat, actions were slow, etc. Not sure if I missed a step or need to start a new server.

  8. I have just finished my first zomboid mod, yay! I am attempting to upload it to steam workshop, but once i select it from the list in workshop (where ModTemplate is), I receive several errors. Steam cannot see required mod.info file or the thumbnail.png I am very confused where to put my mod (if I want to upload it, not install), so I have a copy in C:/User/ProjZomboid and steamapps/common/ProjZomboid. I believe the mod needs to be in the Workshop Folder, and I have my mod in a folder named "Napalm". My folder structure looks like this: /Napalm/ Contains = "Contents" Folder Required by steam, mod.info and thumbnail.png for steam workshop, and a workshop.txt (copied from template) which seems like a duplicate of mod.info. /Napalm/Contents/ contains a folder called "mods" because steam said I had to call it that. If I place anything else in this folder I get an error. /Napalm/Contents/mods/ contains a copy of the mod.info, thumbnail, and workshop.txt. I can't tell where they go, so I put them in both places. It also has my "media" folder, /Napalm/Contents/mods/media/ has my lua scripts and textures folders. Could someone share how they layout steam files and the directories within a mod?

    Steam IWBUMS server

Hi all i just come back to the game as me and some friends like to play and test the newest version 34.15 IWBUMS. So we all got that version of the game. But when i try to setup a steam dedicated server, using the server tool from steam its only version 33.20 i think. So how do i update it to the newest IWBUMS version?
  11. So yeah, I've been trying to do it for 3 days and I don't want this time to get wasted. Here is a guide that will let you set up a private server for your friends within 1-2 hours. INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOST: INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLIENTS: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: I hope, that I'll help at least one group of friends to play this game. To admins: I will not answer to this thread. I registered just to write this one post and disappear forever. So feel free to edit it. I waive the rights to what I've written above. Peace
  12. This is something that's been on my mind for a while now, specially after I saw its success on Starbound. The ideas is to have two separated stances of PZ on Steam, one the Stable versions, and one with the latest IWBUMS (if there's one at the moment). That way, we can playtest the IWBUMS and still have our Stable game for use online and such. This avoids all of the annoyances of having the latest IWBUMS corrupt your save (if it were to happen) and doesn't limit your choice of servers when you want to play online. As IMHO, the biggest deterrent for me when going for the IWBUMS branch isn't losing my saves, but no longer being able to access the MP servers I play on.
  13. Hello everyone, I have a very important question that it's affecting our players. When we start the PZ Server as Steam, automatically my IP is assigned to the server. That is what we saw in the Public List of servers. So users when joining will save the server as IP and his character local files will be created using this IP Address. But sometimes my IP changes and players have to manually change the local files to reflect the new IP. I already have a hostname assigned to my server but I can't make the Public Server list reflect the hostname instead of IP. Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance,
  14. Hi! Currently I'm trying to set up a server on our Debian box, downloaded the dedicated server package (with appid 380870) but when I try to run it the server fails with this error: pzexe: Steam is not running[S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; SteamAPI_IsSteamRunning() failed.[S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; unable to locate a running instance of Steam, or a local steamclient.so.pzexe: SteamAPI_Init() failedMessage: 'Fatal Error', Detail: 'Steam must be running to play this game (SteamAPI_Init() failed).I recognized this error, having seen it in a TF2 dedicated server, which could be fixed by making a symbolic link to the steamclient.so file from steamCMD in the folder ~/.steam/sdk32 but this is already there, so that didn't help. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

How to run a steam server windows?

After trying multiple methods. Resetting everything. And going again. No one is giving clear instructions on how to run and connect to the server. I am running windows. Downloaded and successfully ran the SteamCMD and its app update for the dedicated server. Now what. Every port on my router is open, so port forwarding is irrelevant. I do have workshop items as well, hydrocraft ect. I saw them update uwhen i ran app_update from steam cmd so until i can check the server that seems to be in order. How do I run the server. How do i configure it. How do i connect to it. How do others connect to it. I have Hamachi if it helps at all. Keep in mind i have NEVER had any sort of server running. Assume if it i didnt say it in the post, I havent done it. *EDIT To clarify, I want to run a server, that anyone can join, including myself on the same computer.
  18. I am trying to run a steam server and I got the steam CMD and I am running the steam server, but it will not download the TCP port thing. I have my ports open, and my firewall off. I'm not sure what else I can do to get this to work. http://imgur.com/TOTJoH9
  19. Ive checked the %userprofile%/Zomboid directory, and there is nothing in either "Workshop" or "mods". Also checked in the mods directory in the Game directory, and i cant seem to find them anywhere. Where are they installing to? wrong forum whoops move please
  20. "Valve has implemented a new "Game Ban" policy on Steam, allowing game developers to permanently ban Steam users from individual games, the company announced recently. Through the game ban initiative, Valve is allowing developers to run their own systems to "detect and permanently ban any disruptive players, such as those using cheats," according to a Steam Community page that explains what a game ban is. This is separate from Valve Anti-Cheat, the technology that is already built into Steam. If a developer discovers a player who is cheating, the company notifies Valve, which issues the game ban on the player's Steam account for that particular game. Until now, only Valve has been able to root out cheaters and ban them. "The game developer is solely responsible for the decision to apply a game ban," Valve noted. "Valve only enforces the game ban as instructed by the game developer." via Polygon. Thoughts? Will this help PZ at all?

  22. Hi, I wanna introduce our new game which we were working on for the past 1,5 year. This is Tormentum, surreal adventure game for PC, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS, developed with Adobe Air and Flash. Indiegogo campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/tormentum-dark-sorrow/x/7378278 Greenlight campaign: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=262150511 The action of the game is set in a dark world, veering between dreams and nightmare. The main protagonist, that the player takes control over, doesn't remember his name nor the place where he came from. Visiting new lands, he slowly starts to uncover the truth about himself. The dreamlike atmosphere featured in the game was inspired by the works of a Polish painter, Zdzislaw Beksinski, and a recently deceased Swiss painter, H.R.Giger, among others. Unfortunately, bigger problems seem to arise. The flying ship lands in a big castle and the main hero is soon imprisoned in it. This is how this surreal story from the border of dream and reality begins... Traversing different areas the hero learns the dark world in which he was imprisoned. Visiting new lands, he slowly starts to uncover the truth about himself. Any criticism or feedback is super welcome Ps. As soon as possible I will add some gameplay Screenshots, videos, and more informations: http://ohnoo.com/presspack/tormentum_indiegogo/ Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pA2s-7DwoP4

    Steam Workshop

I didn't find this here, on these forums, hence I'm creating this thread. We all know this game supports mods and to make it easier to manage you could enable steam workshop. Why steam workshop? It's easier to manage your mods and join modded multiplayer servers and a lot easier to install it, you just need to subscribe and steam will download it automatically. I will take Torchlight II as an exemple. You can download any mod on the workshop When you launch the game you can select the vanilla version or play with mods, if you click the modded version, this screen will show up Game will load... no big deal. But if you try to play online and you select a modded server with mods that you don't have downloaded you just need to enter the server and the game will download the mod automatically This is the reason that I want Steam Workshop for this game What about Desura/DRM Free versions? You can still launch the vanilla version, not breaking the game or the servers to people playing the DRM Free/Desura version, which can be moddable too. PS: English is not my mother language, sorry for any grammar errors/misspelling.

    My server not working?

I was trying to start a server for me and my friend, I ran the projectzomboidserver.bat, and it had the command prompt pop up and say: http://prntscr.com/2uque0 It worked a few days ago, I'm not sure why it won't work now. I deleted all of my Project Zomboid in the folders, EVERYTHING. I deleted local game content, reinstalled, etc. I would really like an answer so I can play with my friends! :C

    Plague Inc.: Evolved

Did anybody catch Plague Inc. when it came out? It's a really fun android and iOs game about exterminating humanity via a super-plague, and refreshed and refined the gameplay of this one old flash game series called Pandemic. It's free-to-play, but still very fun to play without even spending a cent. I was checking out their blog thing, and I found out they're actually porting it to Steam on the 20th. So that's something. Details here and here, I think.
