  1. As the title says, being able to climb stackable furniture up onto a roof would be nice. Mechanically, it might work like low fence movement, where players (and zombies) climb up the crates. Example. You have 6 crates with X's on them. You stack them like this: ___ROOF___ X X X X X X _____ GROUND _____ You, little survivor human, climb up the boxes to get to the upper level. Why it isn't OP: - unlike ladders, nobody's going to walk around with 6 crates or other items sturdy enough and high enough to be climbed - like sheet ropes, zombies can attack the improvised staircase - unlike sheet ropes, zombies can clumsily get up a stack of crates - players who rush up the crates can easily trip, not to mention stacked crates or tables or fridges aren't very sturdy Why it could be OP: - getting 6 crates is easier than getting a high carpentry and building a staircase - zombies might be easier to kill if they're clumsily climbing up the furniture after the player - if coded in such a way, players could pick up the top X crate in the example above to keep zombies from following, although PZ wouldn't support this at the moment.
  2. Map Coordinates: 8285x10050x1 (level 1 and level 2 actually) • Version - 41.68 • Singleplayer/Multiplayer - Singleplayer (probably MP as well) • Host or dedicated - N/A • Mods - No • Reproduction steps: 1. Start game in Apocalypse mode. 2. use carpentry to build stairs inside the werehouse at level 0. 3. visit the level 1 using the new stairs (only happens if you use the stairs) • Why its important: Because of that, at level 1, the game thinks you are outside (Screenshot 02), temperature and rain goes inside and destroys the idea of using the two floors of that building (probably it happens for all buildings, rooftops isn't much "solid" in PZ).
  3. Had a strange interaction few days ago while playing. I was running indoors, then ran into the wrong direction from a view pixels tho, and i ended up climbing a fence while going downstairs & being teleported to the room below thru walls. Here are more details with screenshots : Colors & signs stands for : - red arrow : direction of my character's running animation - orange square : hitbox/area of the concerned stairs tile - green square : hitbox/area of the concerned indoors fence So basically, when running in the same vector as the red arrow, once your first step lands on the stairs tile (orange square) your character will either be considered walking stairs but he'll still remain able to climb that fence, ending up climbing the fence from the stairs' level, and ending up teleported in the room below, which here is only an empty & cleaned bar, but could be alot more dangerous if the bar wasn't empty, or if this teleport me outside while outrunning a horde, or idk. Coords of the location : https://map.projectzomboid.com/#0.7361806964691217,0.2595402338666605,1968.8940971808088 (But idk if this is only on that stairs or a common issue with other stairs/fences around the map) Thanks for reading, keep up the good work & take care !
  4. When zombies fall from high places they don't make "fall" animation, they just keep walking into you. in the image you can see upstairs broken doors, the zeds came from there.
  5. hello, Having two stairs side by side to make a double does not allow the player to pass from one to the other because of the invisible wall of each staircase. Making a staircase does not require a wall on the sides because there are already some that are invisible. Build stable 40.43 W10 Steam
  6. Going up the stairs I can go through the closed door. In the previous version of the game, you could not build this door in the frame, it can be used but it does not work. That's how it looks - non-public movie on yt
  7. If you build stairs, then a floor as a roof, and then cover the stairs, you can still climb the stairs all the way to the roof and get stuck up there. And have to jump down again
  8. There's a lot of building designs where the stairs are just behind the forward facing wall making players unable to see anything on the lower level when walking down the stairs until you reach the floor below. This is very hazardous for players, because there could be a group of zombies right at the bottom of the stairs and players won't be able to see them until they are right on top of them.
  9. Currently, if stairscases are placed directly above each other, it causes them to not function properly. Here's an example: This is a fire escape for a map I am working on. (I have removed the railing so that it's easier to see what's going on.) The game allows you to travel from the first floor up, using the lower staircase. It also allows you to use the upper staircase both ways. But you cannot go down on the lower staircase. I don't know the game engine but I assume that the game sees that I am trying to walk into a staircase, and, since stairs are a physical object, it refuses to let me pass. (Although if this is the case, I have no clue why I can walk up the first staircase since i'd 'bump my head' on the physical object above me - but this is just guessing as pseudocode, like I said before. I have no clue how the game runs.) To clarify further, here's my character struggling in vain to go down this staircase: I've tried staircases at different angles, against or not against walls, and in all sorts of other situations to get this to work, but all in vain so far. I think that having staircases stack vertically is absolutely vital - I am working on a larger city map, so fire escapes, and tall staircases are quite common. But even in suburbs I can see this being an issue, if a house is large enough and the stairs going up to a 2nd floor are below ones for the 3rd floor.
  10. Hry guys, now this one might be a bit weird request, but is it possible to make a half-staircase and then let it turn to another side the last half. One such eksample os in outlast, i need such a staircase that isnt straight, but is broken into sections before you reach the 1st floor. We also need stairs that can be placed in any direction, så we arent limited to always have them go one way. I really do need this or I fear the asylum will be more of a weirdlooking place, and not the asylum we are used to.
  11. Ladders. From what I can tell. Very common. I have a pair, my neighbours have a pair, and people generally have ladders, And if you don't you will never get to high places in life. Simple things, they help you go up. They are moveable. You already have static ladders on the map. So, just add ladders to the game? Acquisition Can be found or Can be crafted (Simple crafting I guess) I-I I-I I-I I-I I-I Cons You have to carry them. Makes you walk a lot slower, Requires both hands as equipped and very heavy (Just like a Corpse) Your easier to grab and slow down. Uses Basically acts like a sheet rope, but you can move it, and place it up against a wall only. Why? It's a common thing, Used for a long time in history, easily made, acts as a way to climb onto a roof, or into someones previously impenetrable fortress. And also, beats having to build stairs everytime we want to go up a level.
  12. Well i have noticed that in almost all two (or more) storey buildings the staircase is just made out of wood more or less. You are allready guessing it, aren't you? What if you just destroyed the staircase with an axe or a sledgehammer? Especially in the houses that the stairs are just supported by some wooden pillars it would work 100% and your second storey would be out of reach of the undead for ever. When you have a more sturdy staircase foundation it would work a little worse and a little worse as the foundation gets stronger from case to case. You just have to make a (preferably retractable) wooden ladder or hang your sheet rope from a window. That's it. Bonus: you don't have to go around building (totally unrealistic as they are designed until now) wooden fences and stuff. Simple feature to design, totally realistic, really practical. What do you think?
  13. It is more like general question the request or anything. I noticed that i`m able to destroy crafted stairs via sledgehammer (which is awesome), but it doesn`t seem to be working for stairs in houses (they looks the same but im` unable to pick it up by right click. So my question is - is it possible to destroy stairs by sledgehammer?
