  1. Good afternoon. Enough said. I am using Mods (particularly "Hydro Craft") and a Map overhaul, but none of the Furniture or graphics are overwritten by either. That means these shelves are glitching in the Vanilla rendition. The shelves, regardless of how full they are, are always shown to be empty. That means they are missing the Sprites that change the shelf when something is sitting on it. What, if anything, can be done to fix this? Thank you. -TURTLESHROOM

  3. Namely, I'd like to see what a given player or zombie is wearing/carrying. Not everything, mind, but if they're carrying a bag, a weapon, et al; it'd be nice to have an indication. There'd be limits to this, of course. Weapons/items in hand, but only weapons and containers-there's no need to add a 'held' sprite for literally every item. Guns would be tucked into a pocket or holster, and shotguns with strap would be displayed strapped across the body. Various backpacks could also be rendered on the back. This'd make engaging the zed a more tempting idea; you see one carrying a duffel bag shuffling brainlessly in the middle of a small pack and go..."What's he got in there?" Early-game when finding a container matters, it'd be reason to engage the zed at all-because they've got a Big Hiking Bag, dammit! A little extra work, but not too much, I think; the code should be there, needing only a little tweaking...but then I don't know what the item display code looks like.
  4. Down there you can find a custom tile set made with my sprites. You can use the whole sprite sheet or copy & paste the stuff you want and create your own tile set. There is also checkerboard like pattern you can download for easier copy & paste. I dont spent too much time on making sprites but you can still request sprites if the request is not too huge and you can wait some time. You can edit and use my sprites as you want.

  6. Hello everyone, I am looking at producing my own buildings and hopefully (Eventually) a map, but I need a bit of help understanding Sprites and tiles and I have a few questions. They are shown below: 1) When placing objects using tilemode on the building editor, if I place a wall tile on the door layer, furniture layer or roof layer, will it behave differently or behave exactly the same no matter what? For example would you still collide with it no matter what layer and could you still demolish it with a sledgehammer no matter what layer. 2) If I place furniture objects in tile-mode rather than using the furniture tool will they still behave the same? E.G if i place a 2 tile wide cupboard using tilemode will it still appear in world as two lootable sections and spawn loot normally. 3) I cannot find some tiles/sprites in the building editor despite them clearly appearing in the zomboid map. Some notable examples are the mannequins found in the mall at http://pzmap.crash-override.net/#0.8355907133538171,0.19491794658321468,1255.3734309738713 and the elevator also found there http://pzmap.crash-override.net/#0.8331898134094702,0.19476161261440364,1506.4481171686452 4) Some people are creating awesome custom sprites and posting them on the forums (http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/7280-where-do-i-post-sprites-maybe-here/?hl=+sprites Credit DoubleBrain) How does one go adding these to the building editor and if someone wants to use a map with these objects in will they have to be downloaded seperately beforehand (Like a mod) or are they automatically added by downloading the map. Lots of questions some of which I'm sure have obvious answers but I woul appreciate some help Thanks in advance

    PZ Music

Music has arrived Hello community Zomboid, greetings from Venezuela. After a long time, since I dedicated myself to making this project a reality, today I bring my idea to reality shows, music as an element in this post apocalyptic environment. Note: these are (SPRITE), created to be used as decorative elements in the creation of new buildings to the game, the moments are only visible in the TILEZED. Well here are the sprites that I created to decorate my buildings, is a varied collection of musical instruments, equipment and decoration, I hope they are to your liking https://www.dropbox.com/s/yjlj46jsgs5miis/00ATOX-Wall%20Acustic.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/rcae2bs17qjcbjq/00ATOX-PZMusic.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/drnow6je46jslo2/01ATOX-PZMusic.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ybmmlkvk00z53x2/02ATOX-PZMusic.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/p2axyxmf41v8azm/00ATOX-Poster.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/zo0u2ydjqecvt4m/01ATOX-Poster.png?dl=0 I want to thank Suomiboi sprites in your post (Gun gun racks and counters), they saved me the work to put the guitars. These are the buildings that have created using these decorations. https://www.dropbox.com/s/14qsmb2epyqv4o3/Tienda%20Estudio.tbx?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/umkp1enbcnoebnj/Musical%20Bar.tbx?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/37xd3kikol25ldq/PZ%20Music.tbx?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/te4fvqj67glrul6/Disquera.tbx?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/7cygmyedr1u4n8f/Garage.tbx?dl=0 Well enjoy my work, I hope to have my custom sprites visible in the game someday, but meanwhile if you want to decorate their homes, shops, music stores, bars among others, have total freedom. This is all survivors greetings.
  9. Salutations! I have an idea to customize the game slightly. It just involves editing sprites and replacing some of the game's sound files. But I don't know where to begin, I took a look through the files in the steamapp/common/project_zobmoid folder but I don't outright see images or sound files. Like maybe I wanted to make a Randy Savage zombies mod or something (I don't but... I'm reconsidering). Anyway, I hope you can help! Have a nice day! EDIT: I Found the sound files with a little digging around. If anyone else wanted to know its C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\sound . But I've run into a problem... Most of the files are "Ogg Vorbis Files". Most of the zombie noises are .wavs though.

  11. While trying to figure out how to add a custom object to the game like a piece of furniture or such i noticed it seems quite possible to use sprites that exist in the game already, however i couldnt find a reference list anywhere. I did find this topic by KillerStarBunny: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/2473-how-to-mod-the-textures/ In that topic, the user Minic90 posted a program that unpacks the texture files and creates a XML containing information about individual sprites etc. Looking up the sprites in the XML is a daunting task though, not only is the list very long but it also does not seem to have the sprite info ordered in a logical way. So i have written a small php script on my local server to process both the XML and image data and have it cook up some sort of reference sheets for the sprites. The result is something like this: To find a sprite name for usage in your code simply locate the sprite and note its white numbers, get the category name of the sprite from the black bar to the right and merge category + underscore + spritenumber. For the first topleft image this would be: carpentry_01_26. Works for most sprites, except for the really small ones where numbers start to overlap and become unreadable. Anyways might be usefull to some. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/q7m936gh2mgtt5g/TilesEdit.rar Rar archive with all the converted sprite sheets. Thanks to KillerStarBunny for the explanation on texturepacks and Minic90 for the texture unpacker!
  12. hello community today I created a video tutorial for the creators of sprites that have issues to tilezed agreagar its objects, it is long but show the essentials for successfully add each object in the right position enjoy. Video subtitles are in Spanish so that should translate to English

  14. Hi, guys. I have an question: How i can add a new weapon sprites? I added ico and sound but can't understand how to add sprites (when you take weapon in hands). Pls help me. P.S. Sorry for my bad English
  15. Hi All, I am new to this forum / pz modding in general. I am working on a mod I'm calling CO2, where I am trying to add things like diet pop and mentos (or Mint-O's in my mod to avoid trademark infringement) so I can make mentos bombs. I wanted to add my own sprites to the game, so I started to dig around in the pz sources. After digging around in the sources I realized that there is a way to add sprites to the game: 1) in the script (.txt) portion put: Icon = spritename.png, 2) put your sprite in the project zomboid *root* (parent of media) directory with name: Item_spritename.png 3) Load the sprite with lua: ... function modulename.loadTextures() local texas = getTexture("Item_spritename.png");end Events.OnGameBoot.Add(modulename.loadTextures); Attached is a screenshot for proof. My diet soda icon still needs some work. If we could access member texmap of the Texture class, I could make this much less hacky. Actually, we just need a function like setName() that acts on member texmap instead of member textures. Then we could load the external png from a directory like media/modname/ and rename it using setName() to Item_IconName ...
  16. So I just wanted to bring up a little thing that's niggling at me- I'd like to see a few different 'types' of attacks from zombies. We have different speed zombies and different looking zombies, now we just need a bit of new behavior. Without further ado, here's what I wanted to see: Grabbing (we have this now, should slow you but do no damage) Scratching (a swinging motion, light damage, can be blocked by heavy clothing) Biting (can only be done at very close range, heavy damage, blocked by hard clothing/armor) Tackling (a long distance lurching motion that knocks you and the zombie down, no damage dealt, can be resisted by strong characters) Grab and Bite (can only be done if the zombie is behind the character, holds him strongly and bites him) Along with this I'd like to see some zombies with different 'injuries' as has been discussed before: Missing an arm. Can only attack on one side (and slowly) and can't grab. Missing two arms. Can't scratch or grab, only bite. Tackles with a penalty. No legs. Can be hidden in low grass. Can bite, grab, and scratch but only at close range. When grabbing can drag itself along with the player? Crushed jaw. Can't bite.
