  1. I reinstall game 3 times on random period of time. And nothing of my settings are saved. And its very annoying. Like, REALLY ANNOYING we had so much updates where cloud saves doesn't support. Why Indie Stone? We Lose - Save files with characters - Templates for characters - Sandbox templates - Settings And probably other things i didn't mentioned.
  2. My character does not respawn where is was when I disconnected. He respawns at a place where he has been before, in the state he was (i.e. equipment he had at that time, so recent equipment lost). I created a new character (I thought maybe my current character save was corrupted), but I have the same issue with a new character. Note: I don't know if the character always respawn at the same place or a place where he was x minutes before. Any clue? Thanks!
  3. Is there any chance of being able to change the mod location from ( C:\Users\[USER NAME]\Zomboid ) to another drive as my C:\ drive is nearly full.
  4. Very simple request. I'd like to see the ability to save your characters during their creation, much like how you can save Sandbox settings alongside the pre-existing presets (Default, Beginner, 8 Months After Apocalypse). This could lead to some very interesting concepts later down the line when customization of characters becomes more in-depth, as you could have people sharing different character creations with each other with different trait and profession combinations. I find it slightly irritating having to create my preferred builds over and over, though I don't mind. It would just be helpful and more efficient if you could save them for easy access.
  5. Can you save mods like the Hydro craft or the Alice pack mods so that they can be played off-line when you don't have an Internet connection
  6. Hi guys, I've been testing a server options and I just want to reconfirm what I observed - Buildings' positions and environment is kept on the server side in location Zomboid/Multiplayer/"servername" but player's location and inventory is kept on client side on their PC - even If I delete Multiplayer/"servername" folder on the server side, player after logging spawns in the sample place and with the same inventory don't you think is dangerous to keep players inventory on player side not server? That creates a problem if I want to restart server completely. I'm not able to force people to loose their items as they have inventory saved in their folders, and folders are created per IP of the server so changing the name of the server will probably not help.
  7. There is a tool for Skyrim that lets you strip and clean orphan scripts (left over, save bloating garbage scripts) from save games that once had mods that were deactivated. I'm not sure how the PZ saves work, but could there theoretically be a way to do the same for PZ saves? Or would it be impossible? Regardless, it might be worth looking into when PZ updates, mods get left behind in the dust and leave behind important things that end up destroying your save game. Let's avoid that, shall we!
  8. Tired of the same old character build? Want to try something new but don't know what? Have a great build that you want to re-use but will forget? FRET NO MORE! This mod adds a button to your Character Creation screen to create a random build for you! It will select a random profession, add up to 5 positive and up to 5 negative traits, and then wiggle those traits until there are between 0-3 positive skill points left to spend. Obligatory screenshot: It also adds the possibility to save character builds and re-load them later on! Also implements dropUp menus on the side Another obligator screenshot: And even more obligatory download: randomCharacter_v2.1.0.zip randomCharacter_v2.0.0.zip randomCharacter_v1.0.0.zip Changelog
  9. As the title says, a checkbox that disallows the loading of mods with certain saves i.e. vanilla saves, to keep them separate from modded saves, so you don't have to manually disable all your mods to play a vanilla save and vice versa. This idea sort of spurred into life after I saw someone had a similar problem to me, except with a vanilla save. Maybe a mod profiling system similar to how Nexus Mod manager/Mod Organizer does it for Skyrim/Fallout as an alternative?
  10. Hello fellow survivors! I have made a simple program to edit the sandbox parameters of a save in Project Zomboid. Initially it just started out as a little poking around as I wanted to change when the water and electricity shut off, but I made it into a full program. Check it out if you are interested, I could do with some feedback if there are any bugs with it (please post on the issue tracker on github). https://github.com/BytesGuy/ZomboidSaveEditor To download it (or the source code), visit the link below. It will only run on Windows Vista/7/8/10, sorry no OS X or Linux support (yet)! https://github.com/BytesGuy/ZomboidSaveEditor/releases This project and code is distributed under the terms and conditions of the GNU GPLv3 License.
  11. Hello coders ! A little mod request here. Actually I think it's a little mod i'm requesting. I would love to see a mod/software that lets you edit your character traits and job. And if it's not too much of a hassle, maybe edit your inventory too! As you may already know, build 31.6 IWBUMS has introduced quite an important trait & job overhaul. However it screwed up my old save by making my awesome character stout instead of strong and overweight even if he wasn't before the update. I assume that some PZ players may experience the same kind of nonsense, and while it may be too much to ask devs to create an interface that allows you to re-distribute once again the traits of an existing character (given the speed at which the game is developed), I thought it would be nice if someone bothered to create such mod/software. Cheers !
  12. Hi guys, I started (hosted) a server last night with a friend. We found a house, established a base etc and quit for the night. I closed my client, then the server.bat. I thought I'd just quickly test to see if it's saved the progress but it seems not to have...? Basically I started the server up again, and joined, and it's spawned me as a new character. I'm presuming I'm doing something wrong as what I've read in other threads, we should be able to carry on where we left off. I also noticed I had several folders named 127.0.0.1_Ch1lly etc in my Sandbox folder, and I presume that it's related (see screenshot). Any help is greatly appreciated as we really want to get playing this thing!
  13. I'm hosting a small whitelisted PZ Server for just me and some friends. While so far it's been a huge amount of fun with few issues, the occasional, multiplayer-specific issue has made me wish I could modify the data for my users' characters. For example one user was mobbed and infected due to latency making his client unresponsive. After some digging I notice that the character data seems to be stored client-side in <USER_FOLDER>/Zomboid/Sandbox/<IP>_<USERNAME>/map_p.bin, and not on the server itself. Having looked at the file in a hex editor it seems fairly easy to modify existing data. Changing the name or body parts is pretty trivial, but the problem I've run into is figure out which bit to flip or values to modify to be able to remove an infection. I was wondering if any documentation exists for where that might be stored, or if someone with more coding experience than me might be able to figure it out and share the info? Just to clarify, my goal here is correcting issues for my users that occurred as a result of Multiplayer bugs or limitations. I am very much against changing a save to undo something that was a user's own fault - if your stupidity kills you them then that's how it should be, but when an issue with the server is responsible for them losing items or a character then It's my responsibility to try and fix it. Ultimately tools for that should be included for admins (and I know that build 25 is adding some fun admin stuff soon) but right now I'm just looking for a quick fix.
  14. It goes without saying that character creation is going to get far more in-depth. Simply put, players should be able to save custom characters for use in various game saves. Even now, in these early stages, I don't know if it's worth re-writing my name, choosing my features and traits every single time I start a new game. Not much more to say on the subject without derailing. Thanks for listening.
  15. Can someone make lua for me that will only run when my recipe in the pistol whip mod that changes the gun to blunt weapon? This lua will need to run when the crafting recipe is started and will empty the gun of it's bullets, shells and/or magazine placing them in your inventory. So user clicks crafting recipe, lua keeps ammo, starts crafting recipe. And add disable recipe if durability is depleted. Edit: Ya know, Tumblr is going to lose a-lot of bandwidth because of us.
  16. I want to move my saves is this possible and if so where is the location they are stored?
