  1. Hi All, If anyone can help with this, I will slaughter several white oxen in their honor. I have spent the past week trying to get a flippin server up. Here's what I have tried. PORTS FORWARDED I have logged into my router and tried forwarding ports under UDP/TCP (screenshot attached) I also tried using a range, i.e. instead of specific ports in each line, using "16261-16268" When I use port checker, it says my port is still closed. (screenshot attached) I am using ProjectZomboidServer.bat in the main directory, and can join from the server PC using Local IP, but all external connections are failing. I have read so many forums, deleted everything and started form scratch several times, tried hamachi... but cannot for the life of me work it out. I think my port forwarding is the problem. Please help! The white oxen are waiting.
  2. I'm trying to set up a server, but I can't get the ports to forward correctly. I've followed the instructions to a tee, but it still isn't working. I've also tried Hamachi, but that didn't work either. Can anyone take some time to walk me through the process?
  3. Hey folks, I'm just throwing this up here as a sort of last ditch effort, I've all but given up on being able to play multiplayer with my friend on a server I'm hosting. I've tried several of the troubleshooting tips that you can find around the net, port forwarding, using Tunngle instead of Hamachi etc. Do any of you know if there's common slip-ups or mistakes when trying to get a friend to connect via LAN simulation? I feel like the ports are all forwarded, the Hamachi client is running, my server is running on my PC... we've tried a million permutations lol Feels like it should work, but it just fails to connect. Zomboid seems really fun online and I'd love to give it a whirl Thanks for your collective time
  4. so, i know how to port forward, but for some reason no port scanning services can see that my port is open. im running windows 7 64 bit on a gaming desktop pc, i've forwarded my ports to the default ports for the server, i run the server, it say's it's listening on the designated port, and the windows resource monitor confirms this, i run the custom port scanner tool on http://www.whatsmyip.org/port-scanner/ with the listening port, and it comes back no good. my first thought was that my firewall was blocking it, so i checked my firewall settings and there are no blocks for java or project zomboid, so i then assumed my isp had the port blocked, i switched the config file for the server to run from port 7777 which some of my other games use, so i know i'm not blocked there, and i still can't get a positive read on the port after restarting the server. does anyone know what the issue is? please ask if you need more info.
  5. Hi guys.I really need help ASAP. I can connect to my server via 127.0.0.1, but I can't connect with my public IP. My friends also can't connect. Please help me! I think It may be a port forwarding issue. On some port checkers it says my ports are open, but on others they're not. Also I tried allowing them through my firewall and I tried opening them, but I don't think it worked.
  6. Okay, so recently I went to start a server. I read all the posts about how to and followed them to a T, but for some reason my ports won't open. Which is particularly odd because just a night or so ago when I was testing if it worked I was able to connect to my server, but today I can't. I have no prior knowledge of networking, and neither does anyone in my family, really. So simple to say, the instructions can boggle my mind just a tad, but I've looked around and I can't see anything I've down wrong or any step I've missed. I have a Linksys Smart Wifi, if that changes anything. I used Port Range Forwarding and DMZ was enabled. I even turned off IPV4 firewall and my anti-virus Norton to see if any of that was the problem, but to no avail. I'm at a complete loss here and over my head. Any help would be much appreciated. I'll answer any questions I can and be as useful as possible. Thank you.
