  1. Hello, I and 4 other friends were comfortably playing Project Zomboid together through a server hosted in-game but suddenly we're all unable to play together now due to numerous issues such as: Initially, it started out as 2 friends got stuck in a complete black screen while joining the server, there is no text at the bottom. After a while, they were able to join with 200ms (before it was a smooth 20ms ~ 40ms) but it caused issues like zombies disappearing and teleporting. When in the server, some parts of the map do not load, it appears as the area is cut off and pitch black but we (the ones who don't have connectivity issues) can pass through. We've tried a few things to fix the issue, here is what they are: We tried re-installing the game and deleting the Zomboid project. We tried changing saves and creating a new one but the existing issues were still present. I tried to host on Windows 10 and Debian 11, but the issues remained present. I also tried to host through in-game and a dedicated server on both operating systems. I tried reducing and increasing the server memory from 1GB up to 4GB. I tried hosting with and without UPnP, if without UPnP I would port forward. I tried hosting with DMZ enabled on my machine. The host machine runs these hardware specifications: Ryzen 5 2400G. 16GB RAM. 120GB SATA SSD for the server and game. 300Mbps upload/download on fiber optic. Windows 10 Pro and Debian 11, both 64-bit. The strange part is that this problem is only exclusive to Project Zomboid. I also run a Starbound dedicated server (both Windows and Linux) and everyone has no issues connecting, reportedly having the same ping when Project Zomboid wasn't acting up. Any help is appreciated.
  2. Set up a steam server, followed all the plans (as you do) read all the docs, its up and running - and it doesn't work - I have tested my port forwards and even though my web server is accessible externally, my zomboid server is not. I can telnet to my web server and it works (to test) but when i telnet to the zomboid port it says it can't connect (internally) however - I can connect to it with the game locally - Everyone is busy here so i can't get them to test if it works for them internally - here are some screen shorts in case you see something utterly stupid i have done/failed to do... I have turned my router firewall off and my computer firewall off to test, and its not that, so I am at a loss, can anyone help?? favus
  3. 've been trying to play with my friend on PZ for a while now. We followed all the instructions onhttp://www.reddit.com/r/projectzomboid/comments/28xzzz/server_setup_guide_build_271/ , and I have port forwarded using ports 16261 to 16265, and still my friend cannot connect to me. So, my question is, what can I do to play with him? It is NOT on LAN. Please help!
  4. I will get this bit out of the way. What are the specs of the server? Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo)EVGA 02G-P4-2678-KR GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2GB G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 ISP is Comcast with a XFinity Arris Router TG862G-CTWhat OS is the server running on? Windows 7What is your connection speed? speedtest.net Upload ~8mbs, Download 35mbsDid you try to fix your problem and how? I tried to host the server normally, getting my IP from whatsmyip.com, opened up ports 16261 - 16270 TCP/UDP on my router and made sure that in Windows firewall that project zomboid was not blocked, ports are set to Any and so forth. I was unable to get an open response from http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/. It always said it was closed. I had the server on while testing ports, then I had the server off while testing ports. No go. This is the same computer that I will be playing from, and the server load max will be 4 players including myself. So with no luck doing the above I tried to run it with Hamachi, I know hamachi works as I just hosted a Kerbal Multiplayer server not to long ago and everyone was able to join. So I put in my IP from Hamachi and I'm able to join my game right off the bat. So I invite two other people, both are located in the UK, I'm from the US. They both get failure to connect. So, then one of them try and host the server, The other fellow from the UK get a failure to connect and I get failure to connect aswell. I am able ot connect to servers that are posted in the Server forum, I am using the [onlinetest] version on Steam. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks, Ben
