  1. After looking at setting up a long term residence with renewable food supply, It came to my attention that rain barrels for collection is implemented but there is not an "efficient" way to direct water to moderate / large size food plots. A solution for this would be to place a rain barrel(s) elevated so that gravity can act as the pumping mechanisim and attaching a gated trough or valved piping system to do the initial dispersment to the crop rows. With trencing dug between rows to allow for watering of the adjacent crop tiles. Gated trough recipe could / should be a lvl 4 Carpentry given that collection is made available at that level, and consist of 4 planks + 5 Sturdy sticks + 10 nails + 1 rope. Water trough extensions would require only 3 planks + 6 nails Pipe with valve assembly could potentially be salvaged from drained sinks or commodes, or alternatively implemented as a drop at appropriate locations on the map. Same argument could be made for the raw pipe itself. Difference between the two would be the piped structure could also direct water into a housing structure for renewable indoor plumbing via barracaded opening in wall. Could also be interesting in multiplayer as well since water collection would have to be secured else risk tampering / poisioning ( rotten food , zombie corpse in the well, etc.)
  2. When playing earlier, I made my way to the cabin in the eastern woods in game thinking because of it's source of water, I could grow crops and survive better despite being much further away from places to loot food. However I soon discovered after digging up some spots to plant seeds, that there was tall grass and other natural textures blocking my view of some of my dug up area, which became extremely bothersome when trying to right click to plant and tend to my crops. This also is a bit annoying for item picks up, such as collecting logs when chopping wood. I also noticed that if I build a wooden floor, it too is covered up by the overgrown plant life, this is also bit annoying. Is there a planned, or can it be possible new feature to make use of a current or new tool to remove the grass? I noticed there is a spade in game, not sure if it's used for anything beyond as a weapon, but perhaps that could be a candidate? Not sure how a lawn mower would work, especially trying to put it in your bag, but maybe a pair of hedge cutters or a sickle. Maybe another multipurpose tool such as a machete might make a good amount of sense. Just a small bothersome thing I've been noticing, besides the cut grass could have uses such as for example kindling, rope crafting, precaution against brush fires, etc. Thoughts?
  3. Seeing as the devs now plan to make bodies harm you if you're around them too long, how about giving the player the ability to dig graves if they have a spade and place bodies in them? You could also add a grave marker if you wanted (maybe only with NPCs and not zombies) with either a custom message, or one the game makes up in a format like "*Name*. Died of *cause* on *date*. Rest in peace." It would also be cool to come across some graves dug (either via the NPC's AI or randomly placed to look real) with names/causes of other survivors who died. It would also show you how good a set of survivors were getting on (lots of graves in their safehouse meaning, of course, they're not very good at this type of thing).
  4. Hello! I am loving the game so far and am wondering if there would be any way to add digging into the game. I know we can set up patches of dirt for crops but what i am talking about is more like base building/trenches. Digging would allow you to build a moat around your base that would slow zombies down and offer a semi storeable are of water when it rains. Digging deeper would allow you to build huge underground complexes to protect from the weather and from zombies. I think it would be cool if zombies could fall into your base sometimes if it is not well reinforced. Could use planks to keep it standing, and maybe cement and other things that dont quite exist yet!!! Any other ideas would be great! Oh and some other stuff would have course be items like shovels and other digging tools!!
