  1. So I've built a shelter off away in the woods near a lake. Isolation was key - therefore I built onto the lake and isolated part of the base as a sort of island. The base's store room (2nd floor) sits on top of the garage. The garage is completely accessible to normal terrain while you must take a rope to get up to the 2nd level. The store room then leads further onto the lake to the "home" which is divided by some doors. All in all, the construction was quite simple. I ran into very few issues getting walls up other than what might be expected when building on water. I'm making this thread as only half of my constructed base actually registers as an interior and the effects are game-changing. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2548315176 Had to wait for a rainy/snowy day to get this visual to show how drastic the difference is and why I'm setting this one down until I can find a solution (hopefully with your help!). I built about 90% of this base in vanilla and then added some mods on including HC and a stat HUD as well as a QOL mod that shows what skill I've leveled up in above my head. That being said, I'm not convinced any mod contributed to this issue. In this picture it's 53.5F inside, we're going winter which is why I've really kind of had it with this bug for this character. Semi-comfortable, well lit in the morning/afternoon/evening and dry. But upon crossing the threshold of those doors, the game then registers that we're outside. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2548315150 To answer some obvious questions first Yes, there is a roof Yes, floor tiles are on either side of each wall in a desperate attempt to kick this glitch at some point Yes, we're on a lake Funny enough, I've built a pillar on every edge I'm capable of doing so on the main house, but have not done so on the store room. Still, the store room registers interior. You can even see inside the edges from the outside in the pics. So yeah, we're raining and snowing inside where I normally sleep and it sucks. The furnace is next to useless in this space as it's fighting the coming winter cold. If it had not been for a backup I had cuz IWBUMS, I would have lost this character due to some nonsense as there was a massive freeze that came in overnight one night and I hadn't realized yet that the building registered as exterior and my character died unexpectedly. Kinda my bad, but he'd have survived just fine in the store room since it's interior. The sheet rope you see going up is attached to a fence on the roof which actually has walls built around it with a roof on top of that also. That best part is, that tiny room he crawls into after climbing the rope also registers as interior, is super well lit even when my "home" is not, as it's exterior, even though it has no windows! I've made an attempt at deleting the isoregiondata folder - reloading game - destroy wall and rebuilding it to no avail. I've done that a good number of times while trying a few different things to trigger the game to finally think the building is interior but came out empty handed. I was hoping someone could take a look at this. This is actually the first time I've ever gone onto a game's forum to participate in the community. I've got a .rar of my save file prepped, but I'm a bit unfamiliar with trusted file sharing sites so if you wanna take a look at the world, you'll have to recommend me a site to upload Thanks to anyone for reading this or even looking into it!
  2. I've attached a pic: for interior doors two things are a little off. There are red question marks next to all of them, no matter where I place them. I also notice that the ground near the door looks like outdoor floor tiles. Can anyone help me figure out what I am missing? EDIT: Fixed, see below
  3. Vehicle Cutaways: A Solution to the Camper Conundrum Hi everyone, I've been giving some thought to the vehicle interior issue. There have been suggestions in the past of having interiors on large vehicles like RVs/Campervans, but it seems the discussion always ends at something along the lines of "you'd need the car to convert to a structure when you stop, which is not possible on the Project Zomboid engine." What's different about my proposal is that I suggest that we utilize a feature that is presumably on the way to Zomboid already. Let's look back at a teased feature from an older Thursdoid: Lowdown August 15, 2019 As you can see, Easy Pickins has managed to add an interior to this car. Sure, you can't move inside it like you're in the game world, but its a fine addition to the game. Now I suggest that we use the same system, and give the illusion of an interior in the campervan. Here is a concept I've produced in Photoshop: I'm not the greatest editor, so obviously the scaling and quality will be off, but I think it gets the idea across. (The camper van here is courtesy of Filibuster Rhymes' mod) There should be an option to seamlessly toggle the view of the cutaways on and off while in the game, but bear in mind that these interiors would not be an actual part of the game world, but rather just a look inside the car in the same way Easy Pickins' interior was. As a passenger when you press V I think should get the option to click on an appliance in the RV and then depending on what is feasible for the developers to do, the game will A: play an animation of you walking in the van to the fridge and opening it, or B: teleport you to the fridge. Tangentially, I imagine that having system in place will also permit the addition of interiors for more ambitious vehicles in mods, in case someone wants to make a boat, plane, or a train with an interior. I think it would also be nice for characters to have idle animations while sitting in the vehicles. Please leave your thoughts below, and thanks for reading!
  4. I was wondering if there is any way to edit interior doors so they can be locked? I am designing a large apartman building and its just odd for all doors to be open.

  6. And so long as I find people who answer my stupid questions, I sat back for the translator. When I realized that to build a house in TileZed not the best idea I discovered Building Editor. More or less understand it, I was faced with a new problem. When I build the wall in a special mode in Iso, for some strange reason they only exterior, but I have chosen, and exterior and interior. Of course, I would probably could go to the Tile mode, but then I would have to manually apply them on the dirt, and it would be tedious. And something else to place the light in the room, I just need to install the switch in the room, or that there is any manipulations? Thank you
  7. merged interior would be nice, when you make a house into your base, when it has manny rooms inside and you want to destroy the walls between them and make it a one big room even if you destroy the walls the rooms stay somehow separated, when you stand where one room was and back turned to the other rooms they are dark to you even if the walls are not there anymore. i think it would bring much more esteticaly and you could shape houses to your liking inside. destroyable coat hangers, wall lights and sinks and toilets would be nice so they dont float in the air after walls destroyed
