  1. Project Zomboid is all about surviving as long as you can before you inevitable die. Which is a great and fun concept. This mod will work in the other direction. The player will try to create and maintain a striving community. The player will lead a group of NPC survivors to a safe and sustainable future. There will be outside and inside dangers but they won't be focused in the first builds. Detailed mechanics - The player will first create a table in the middle of the safe house. When the player uses the table, It will go into plan mode. The player can choose any feasible structure and layout a plan. The structures will stay highlighted until built. Usually a barricade or a fence at first but eventually farming, defenses and whole buildings. The player can also highlight which trees to cut down. When the player actively loots, any item that is needed in creating the plan will also be highlighted. The other NPC's in the community will automatically go to work to build the plan. The highlighting system will have 3 colors that the player can choose to prioritize what is built first. When the player is looting, items will be colored accordingly. The mod will use as much assets from the official game as possible but it will have to change some items to make it easier to play. For example, Instead of hording as many hammers and saws as possible. There will be just a toolbox which up to 10 NPC's can use automatically. Upgrading will be finding battery tools then power tools but that will also require a functional electric system which will be done in a later build. Labor time will also be change, Building a log defense could takes weeks but the player just needs to set it out and watch it get built over time. The first build will be creating the plan mode, then having a option for the player to be automatically controlled to finish all the tasks. This includes -Farming and storing food -Cutting Down Trees and storing wood -Building all the structures -Eating , Drinking & Sleeping Like highlighting trees, there needs to be a system to help guide what items can be used up without annoying the player, how to conserve or waste water etc. Maybe a personal stash separate from the communities. This function won't be used by the player but is good code for when NPC's come into the official game. Later builds will focus in on assigning jobs to the NPC's, Handling protection duty for other NPC's and infinity more stuff. I am a beginner programmer and decent 3d artist. Like anything creative, It is a massive amount of work and am looking for a core team. anyone interesting in playing or joining to create this mod?
