  1. I found a car parked between 2 other cars in a parking lot. I was able to walk along one side of the car, but not the other. Once in the car, I realize that there is no gas, and I can not exit the car.
  2. I have really enjoyed the vehicle build when it was first introduced. But we still need more vehicles ,the devs should be more strategic ,i know its a small team but with better marketing tactics like new trailers ,a more interesting UI with more artwork etc ,deciding which features to add first ,its sad to see a gem like PZ being in development purgatory even tho i believe the devs are doing their best. we need more atmospheric elements ,not just the usual depressing music ,not the empty streets ,a character with no basic dialogue which he/she can say when stressed ,inspecting an item etc. The game needs more enviromental details ,more variety with the vehicles .and i think we need roads clogged with cars ,which we have to pull with a heavy construction/load transfer vehicles to clear clogged ,baricaded roads like that. Trucks where a bunch of ,20 something players can travel behind in multiplayer ,like giant heavy load carriers that are blocking some of the roads which only the crawlers can reach you from the other side ,or even transforming a truck into a caravan or like a rare chance of finding one ,there are all kinds og survival tog players ,the ones who love to travel ,and the ones who make the ultimate survival camp,base,community,safe-zone.

  5. Easy fix Video on youtube of issue. As it says in the title. The vision modifier function does not have a boolean to check for the headlights being absent. If you wanted to do the job proper the function should check for each headlight and give extra vision for that side but you could slap together a quick fix and not adversely affect player experience.
  6. Sometimes we find duplicate of our cars with all the loot we've been scavenging and all ready taken to our safehouse. We play co-op server my friend is hosting.
  7. Bug: You are able to select both the new driving traits at the same time. Instead of taking one trait and then not being able to take the opposite trait whether it having a positive or negative effect on the player. Fix: Only being allowed to take one of the traits; either faster driving or slower driving.
  8. The issue: Basically, at the scrapyard near Riverside, and I manage to get into the middle light-blue car from the front right side door. However, upon entering the car, I now can't exit it. Obviously I was able to get into it but the game renders the car next to me to be too close to be able to exit. (Yes I tried all the doors, and none of the windows are smashed.) What I expect to happen: If the player is able to get into a vehicle, he should be able to exit the same way he came in, especially if the vehicle in question was stationary.
  9. As I was patiently spamming "Remove Grass" from a large field, I thought, wouldn't a lot of these nice homes have lawnmowers to do this job? Maybe just a cheap push job (that is tiring to use but makes little noise) or a gas-driven model (that makes a ton of noise). Maybe a big house might have one of those fancy ride-on mowers, which might be a bit quieter than the push model - but I'd need to know a lot about mechanics to keep it going. While I'm thinking about the grass, I'm wondering if putting up barbed fences will slow down the zombies [still not implemented??]. If I had a spare mower and a decent level of skill in making traps and wiring stuff up, I could use the blades to create a zombie trap - with a motor, maybe even a nasty spinning blades job I could install in my base in that bottleneck... Now if I was a real expert, maybe we could get all Mad Max on this town and stick some spinning blades on my truck's front bumper... EDIT: oh yeah, the ride-on mowers are rare, but the best bit is, you can't lift them into the back of your truck... you have to drive them home
  10. After reading post about generation explosion I've got an idea. What if we can have that system on cars? When engine durability is lower than 40% (for example), we can have a chance of engine break. After engine break you should exit your car and make some engine maitenance (without spare part). The lower state of engine-the longer it will take to repair. And if the engine condition is very low, you should have a chance of fatal break, after that you should repair it with high mechanic skill and with a fair amount of spare parts. I think that this system can generate some awesome moments. What do you think?
  11. Vehicle horns doesn't work in single or multiplayer on 40.3 (current weather test build) via the keybinding or radial menu (there is no sound and I think no progress bar, I think zombies don't hear it eaither). Sirens seems to work fine. It works in stable 39.67.5 just fine.
  12. One of the major problems with vehicles is navigating off-road with all the tiny trees that are easily mistaken for bushes. In real life, even a small car would knock over and snap a sapling. Small trees should be destroyed by vehicles, and maybe larger trucks could even knock over medium trees (but still take some damage). Vehicles should also destroy bushes and grass as they drive over it - maybe not all of it, but say 50% of the tiles they pass over. This way, if you drive along the same route often, you'll eventually clear a path. It would be cool if the tiles could turn from grass to mud after continual use, but I doubt that's a trivial coding task.
  13. So I was playing on multiplayer with my sister- just us, but the server tends to load chunks really slowly when we drive, and when we drive up next to the next one we often have to wait up to 30 seconds for it to load. Not sure if that's normal? We have about 3GB dedicated to the server (the computer has 12GB RAM total, current stable build, Windows 10). Well, after doing this for like, two irl days, we were driving back along a road we'd been on many times. We then saw that, just about every place we had stopped to load a chunk on our last time through that road, there was.. now another of the same truck. Items inside and condition were the same, and the engine was on with the key (also a copy, we had been in the car and running it on the road, afterall). We now have three to four extra trucks and are sort of confused. They still drive and I pulled the keys out and drove them around, though I didn't try taking items out of the glovebox, which is the only place that had items. So, definitely an odd bug. But I guess now we have a convoy..?
  14. I had this issue before the wearther build and it seems to persist through the weather build as well. There's one model of car that works perfectly fine (you can enter it, drive etc.), but texture loaded is totally black. It seems other had such issue with zombie bodies, which I didn't have. Actually, it turned out I did have the black zombie body on one of my screens, I just didn't pay attention during regular gameplay. It happens for me under Linux, but it also happened to my wife under Linux as well – we both have the same operating systems, but I have an AMD card with open drivers, while she uses Nvidia with proprietary ones, so it seems to not be related to GPU drives, at least at the first glance.
  15. Hi all. I thought that driver proffesion could be a good adittion to the game and make it little harder. First, about driving skill. While driving a vehicle you gathering experience, the more experience you have, of it depends driving style, for example faster braking, acceleration, faster engine start, and of cource driving on different surfaces, including off-road, asphalt, and snow and ice, if the last one is planned. Also turnig, if driving skill is low it requies more space and taking more time, and if you have advanced driving skill, it should be faster. This can also have an impact on gear switching, and engine stalls. Shortly to say, just like in real life, more you drive you feel more confident on the road. And the last one, unexperinenced drivers can feal panic when driving at high speed in contrast to the more experienced persons.
  16. I'm not sure if this is a bug, oversight, or working as intended, but currently while driving, you can hit new trees that are incredibly tiny and yet able to stop a car. I hit one type of tree that was so new and weak that it was only able to take 1 axe swing while a bush takes 4 and yet I can drive through those just fine. I believe the models for some of the trees and what sizes they are considered "large" should be re-examined. Thank you for your wonderful product!
  17. I've seen a few metal barrels around in sheds and warehouses, and I was thinking that these new vehicles we have will need oil at some point, so why not in these barrels? Once they are emptied that could be used as fire barrels, barbecues or for vertical drum smokers to preserve meat.
  18. It would be nice to see more models of "normal" car, but what the world is really lacking is a host of other vehicles that would add immersion and some more colour: - diggers and bulldozers (construction sites look empty!) - Electric Co. vans with hydraulic lifts for repairing telegraph poles - forklifts - ice cream vans (not sure if a US thing or not) - tow bars as an upgrade, and trailers. Also, the ability to tow wrecks or other cars. - mobile homes and caravans (not sure if the latter are a US thing?) - tractors and a few farm attachments like mowers or sprayers- combine harvesters! PLEASE! - buses (school buses are such a US thing, really odd not to see them in the game) - big trucks ("Mack trucks" or what we Brits call "articulated lorries") - it's strange not to see these on the big highways - EDIT: fire trucks! Sorry if some of these have been suggested before.
  19. Hello guys! I have a problem that I could not solve on my own. We make a custom model of police car for Project Zomboid (Link). After we upload it to the Workshop, and we saw that the textures of light, damages and rust do not worked. In lua file the textures was writed to the model, but it still does not work. Anyone know, how fix that problem?
  20. Enhanced Vehicles (WORK IN PROGRESS) Hello members! Today i want present you a our modification for Project Zomboid. We are decided to change default cars for more detailed and realistical. First car in our modification - Police Cruiser and Park Ranger Sedan replaceble at model based on Chevrolet Caprice 1992. We are already complete a model and main textures.
  21. Hey there, yesterday Windows decided to restart my PC all of a sudden (yes, I ignored every warning before it restarted) while I was playing on my private server. After restart I noticed everything kinda rolled-back (1-2 minutes back in time) but vehicles and items inside them were duplicated, so I've got myself 2 vans and 2 chevaliers. Every item inside these cars merged with original items when I tried to loot it (guessing because they have same internal ids or something) and disappeared, basically lost every duplicated item, not a big deal, didn't want these thing anyway, felt like cheating Wonder if that's known issue when suddenly terminating server? If yes just remove this topic. Build: latest Thanks, Alex.
  22. Build 39.67.5 noticed on Multiplayer (Steam dedicated server, 2 players, no Mods) reproduced on singleplayer. I don't know if it is just a visual bug, or actually affecting repair %, but leveling Metalworking and Mechanics can decreases the displayed "Potentially Repairs %" on the vehicle UI. I noticed this with my MP character when my repair % dropped from 61% to 47% going from Metalworker 3 to 4 (Mechanic lv10). The same seems to happen from Mechanic 2 to 3 as well. Leveling both to 10 grants 55% repair which is still less than the 61% from lower levels. Single Player reproduction below: 3 MW, 2 Mechanic - 61% 3MW, 3 Mechanic - 52% 3 MW, 10 Mechanic - 61% again 4 MW, 10 Mechanic - 47% 10 MW, 10 Mechanic - 55%
  23. Will they be affected by rain? Like your car can skid/get out of control if you turn to hard when it's raining? Maybe some roads are slippery and some aren't depending on where they are located and what type of terrain it is. Snow could mess your engine up in the winter if you don't run your car's engine at all as freezing it will cause damage which would then be repaired with a high mechanic skill and might even need replacement parts. Maybe your character's visibility is decreased when raining and snowing unless the wipers are on. These could all be helpful if you think vehicles need to be harder to maintain, since this game does a good job with realism. I could put more things but those are the first that come to mind. Also, you guys never implemented a digital clock on the cars....
  24. The car in vehicles is called "WaveSignalDevice" (visible on title bar of the item) which I think it's a placeholder? Even if the name stays it lacks the spaces, but since the regular radios are used as a vehicle radios, I guess it should show the name of currently mounted radio. The second issue is that you unlike the regular radios, you can't connect headphones or earbuds to the radio mounted inside the car – you can uninstall the radio, equip it and then install the headphones/earbuds manually, but if placed back inside the car they can't be used (headphones/earbuds are there, but unusable, so I suppose they don't work). Finally, radios in the cars seems to have the (regular, not car) battery in them – I'm not sure if the battery is being depleted (seems not, as I extracted 100% ones) when used, or whether they are being used when the vehicle uses up all the car battery (never happened to me yet), but if you uninstall the radio, take the battery away and install it back, you basically have a free (regular) battery available. It would be nice if either the radios in cars spawned with no battery, or the battery inside them could actually be used (and visible inside the regular panel, along with headphones/earbuds I mentioned earlier). For a similar issue, see also my previous bug report: Deaf character should not hear radio in car.
  25. Hi, Sometimes when I drive slowly with a lot of zombies (20-30 zombies) behind/next to my car, my car is like capatulted and it goes from 5mph to 60mph in one second and I think it mostly happens with slow vehicles like vans. So yeah it's fun to have such a boost but when there are trees everywhere you get an instant crash and that's way less fun game's version : 39.67.5 but it does that since the beginning of vehicles I didn't see anyone reporting this bug, I'm playing with sprinter zombies so maybe it has something to do with that It's very easy to make this bug happens, just take a slow van, attract a lot of zombies and drive slowly next to them or even in circles
