  1. After reading todays blog post about small issues I remembered something I have had on my mind for awhile. Why can we not use towels to cover windows, or rip towels for fabric? I think a small but meaningful feature would be if towels were updated with the following: 1. ability to cover windows 2. Ability to rip for fabric 3. Ability to burn towels and use them as kindling and not as importantly but I think it would be nice if we could wear towels also, either around the waist or over the shoulders. Maybe even like a makeshift super hero cape? Unlike the other suggestions this would require adding new 3d assets so I don't really expect to see this. But the others should be quick to implement and make a lot of sense. Honestly if we want to go really far with it we should be able to place towels as a rug type furniture option and use them as a bad quality bed. People sleep on beach towels all the time, and its certainly better than just sleeping on the ground, a secondary effect would be a light weight and easy to find portable bed which is something that would really improve nomadic gameplay while being balanced by the fact that its not any better than just sleeping on a random folding chair. Currently dish towels and towels are almost completely useless and I think making them behave like other fabric items would really help round them out game-play wise, I've found myself in bathrooms looking for bandages and thinking "Why cant I just rip this towel and use that?". Or I find myself running out of fire fuel and thinking why cant I burn this dish towel I found in the cupboard. My favorite thing about this game is the multiple uses for items because it makes the game world feel alive and really leads to emergent gameplay due to satisfying problem solving.
  2. Wud yer consider addin' dis tag so other modders an' meself may use de wet towels in oyt mods an' they gie back a dry towel whaen used. item DishClothWet{Weight = 0.3,Type = Normal,DisplayName = Wet Dish Towel,Icon = Dishtowel,ReplaceOnUse = DishCloth,ReplaceOnDeplete = DishCloth,}item BathTowelWet{Weight = 0.5,Type = Normal,DisplayName = Wet Bath Towel,Icon = Bathtowel,ReplaceOnUse = BathTowel,ReplaceOnDeplete = BathTowel,}
  3. Apologies to the couple of people I promised this too a while back, I was unsure how to get it to work together right and be realistic enough to post, so I shelved it. Until now... I made (tried) textures (sprites, whatever...) Here ya Go!! Instructions in the form of a gaggle of recipe images!! Bugs: Towel to dirty water recipe needs to be changed (Just made it this way to finish it for now) You lose the towel when you save the water (can't fix, in vanilla item scripting code) Can dupe bottles of water if you keep clicking the crafting option to filter water (I have no clue how to fix ) Coming: Adding more items and steps to make the filtration feel more realistic. Fixing the dirty water part of the recipes. fix dupe bug? DOWNLOAD: Mirror Download (My Dropbox Link) HOW TO TEST THE FILTERING OUT (If you don't want to loot the items): Install the Optional "GimmeFilterStuff.lua" and press F8+0 (zero) to get all the items you need to construct and filter some water. DOWNLOAD GIMME LUA: Mirror Download (My Dropbox Link)
  4. Made it for suggestion here. I made a texture.. This is why I don't make textures.. All I did was find a picture of a bottle of soap, cropped it and shrunk it to size. Looks good enough though. Made with 2.9.9.13 (should work with 2.9.9.10 through the new version) Now you can clean that dirty dish with rotten food in it. So you have to start a new game, sorry. (Only for the dish soap spawn, I think...) How Do You Clean Dishes: Find some dish soap. New item spawns more commonly in kitchens. Find a dish towel (use my wring out mod to keep reusing towel). Get your rotten and/or dirty pan or bowl. Squirt some soap on them. Add water (there's a bug with the UI staying open, dupe item bug, please don't cheat. Or else) Then use dish towel on them. + = INSTALL MOD: Copy the "mods" and "media" folders from the mod zip file into your Project Zomboid game directory, don't worry it won't replace anything, it will just add the mod file into your "media/lua" and "/mods/scripts" directories. Put the texture in your root PZ directory "PZ/(HERE)". Coming Soon: crossmods for other food mods (unless the food mod author makes their own) DOWNLOAD: Main Download (PZ-Mods) || Mirror Download (My Dropbox Link)
  5. 2.9.9.16 I made sprites, I tried .. 2.9.9.10 Bug: Using the sewing kit with multiple resources will show all available crafting options and some may not be seen on screen. If you have multiple resources (sheet and usable sheet) in your pack, click on the resource to get its crafting menu, and craft your items like that. That way you will only get the recipes available for that item and not overload the screen with options. 2.9.9.10 Update: Added more uses for usable sheets. Sewing kit spawns on zombies. Update: Added option to cut up clothing using scissors or the sewing kit into usable sheets, these usable sheets can be then sewn back into sheets. Added a sewable shopping bag, this shopping bag also spawns in the world. Added stuff for ripped sheets, sheet ropes, dish towels, socks, tissues and pillows. This mod adds a sewing kit into the world. This sewing kit spawns throughout the world and has a limited number of uses. With this sewing kit and some sheets, you can sew vests, shirts, trousers, skirts, blouses and a new item shorts. Shorts provide a little more warmth than skirts (currently using skirt texture). (I had to remove some images due to image limit) NEW SPRITES!!!! DOWNLOAD: Mirror Download (My Dropbox Link) INSTALL MOD: Copy the "mods" and "media" folders from the mod zip file into your Project Zomboid game directory, don't worry it won't replace anything, it will just add the mod file into your "media/lua", "media/texturepacks" and "/mods/scripts" directories. Wring Out Towel Mod Adds a few crafting recipes so you can wring out that wet towel, getting a dry one. Image coming soon. DOWNLOAD: Mirror Download (My Dropbox Link)
