  1. Zooming in or out (ex., by using the mouse wheel) either deliberately or accidentally while in "combat stance" (holding down right mouse button) can cause the character to turn. This can lead to missed shots or melee hits, which in turn can lead to becoming very dead very quickly. This seems to be due to the fact that the game tries to position the character's waist at the centre of the screen while the aiming cursor is at head level (with a line coming down to the ground, but the mouse cursor itself is at the top of that line, at head height). This causes the character to change orientation as its head moves up (or down) the screen when the camera pans to try to keep the waist at a fixed location. The effect is worse if the cursor was close to the character to begin with, and can in fact cause the character to turn 180 degrees (turning its back to the target)! For example: zoom in, then hold down the right mouse button and position the cursor close to the character in such a way that the character is looking straight "down" (to the southeast), with the ground circle close to its feet (if you release the right mouse button at this point, you'll see the mouse cursor is right in front of your character's head). Then, holding down the right mouse button but without moving the character or the mouse, zoom out. The camera will pan, your character's head will move down relative the centre of the screen, and suddenly the character will turn 180 degrees (and look "up", towards the northwest) to look at the mouse cursor (which hasn't actually moved). Solution: make both the aiming cursor and character anchors the same "height" (either both at head height or both at waist height). (note: ideally this should also be the same height that firearms are fired from) Alternatively (more complicated), anchor the mouse cursor to the character's waist, so that the cursor itself moves up or down when the camera zooms and auto-pans, keeping its position relative to the character, so there's no turning. In the unlikely case that anyone likes the current behaviour (I can't imagine why), this could be a toggle in the UI options
  2. Skittering through the alley, Haylee, starved turns and see a scruptious meal, A Mouse. They arnt smart like rats, smart like Haylee... Why Is Haylee still alive?!?!? Haylee knows... the "Rat King", told her... Eat the little ones, and live FOREVER.... The Current calorie meta is kinda rough (I feel like you have to have a cows/fish to survive). I'd Like to be able to survive of mice and rats I find. Chasing a mouse straight into a horde. Sounds fun. Currently, you starve. Also Bonus to Cooking if I have a live Rat in my inventory?!?!? Common THINK ABOUT IT okay?!?!? Living RatKing? Be able to fight zeds with pet mouse/rat in inventory Wearable Ratking hat? ewww
  3. Chickens are omnivores, so I think it would be interesting if they preying on small animals like mice, which would give it a realistic touch. If you released a mouse into the chickens' pen, it would relieve stress and improve the chickens' well-being, as well as providing them with food. You could also feed them earthworms.
  4. Every now and then (maybe 1 in every 10) vehicles, when I enter the maintenance menu (by pressing E at their bonnets), I cannot right click on the "engine" component. Nothing happens. I can always right click on the muffler, wheels, windows, gas tank, etc, everything else, just not the engine. Even if the engine is in great condition/green. I get no feedback/sound, as well as no context menu opening up. If I right click on a red <10% engine I can usually get a menu saying it needs to be ">10% to take engine parts" or whatever it says, but randomly I just cannot right click on the engine. I do this because I want to take the engine parts, I mean.
  5. Dual-Monitor causes mouse DPI increase. It's not a game breaking bug, just one to add to the list. Setup: Monitor 1: 1080p (1920x1080) Monitor 2: 4k (3840x2160) Mode: Mirrored (1080p Primary) Bug: Mouse movement speed becomes twice as fast as desktop, and the size of the mouse icon doubles. I suspect something is happening with scaling, but I can't be sure. (Bug is present in vanilla and modded) Reproduce: Any time I attach the HDMI for the 4k monitor while the game is CLOSED, the bug does NOT occur. I can launch the game, load a save, and then connect the HDMI with no change to mouse speed or pointer size. If at any time I alt-tab or otherwise minimize the game window, then return to the game, the bug does occur. Fix: Close the game, disconnect the HDMI cable, relaunch the game, reconnect the HDMI cable. (Optional: Summary: Its a minor bug to be sure, but those with less technical backgrounds may find the sudden double-movement speed of the mouse to be unplayable and refund. We definitely want to prevent that. I can provide a short screen cap or other data if requested, such as a DXDIAG.

  7. Hi, I played PZ for while. Yesterday I set my resultion in game to normal 1920x1080 for me. Now my mouse do nothing.
  8. After having a break from the game I've started a new server, as I do upon new updates. It's not a public server, it's running on my home network and people will join locally on the same network. For some reason it won't let me connect to the server, as it's loading the map it errors and prompts me to quit. I've attached the file it asked me to look at. There was a bit that jumped out at me... I've recently bought a new gaming mouse as my last one broke, could this be what's causing the error? Specs: Windows 7 64-bit Intel i5-2500 3.3ghz Geforce GTX 780 Thank you. console.txt
  9. Loving everything about zomboid so far. But one thing has somewhat annoyed me and it's how slow the mouse wheel scrolls through the inventory. You spend so much time in your inventory in this game and it's just one of the few things that really bothers me. You can't scroll very quickly through your inventory.. it's usually easier to just click the scroll bar and drag it but this is kinda annoying to do since it's really small and sometimes you might misclick and have to re select all your items again. If there was a way to adjust this or just make it scroll a little faster it would make navigating and organizing your items so much easier. Hopefully I explained that well enough.
  10. Just recently I decided to purchase Project Zomboid, because I've always been into ANY type of "Zombie" or survival of the fittest type of games. I really had a lot of fun playing for the first hour, but one of the things that I realized that was quite buggy (I KNOW IT IS IN ALPHA) was the click registration. I spend almost 5-7 minutes just trying to get the sink options to come so I could fill my pot full of water, and recently I have kept coming across this problem over and over again. Honestly I am just curious as to if this 'problem' will be fixed in the nearby future? ~HawkenGaming
