  1. I've been trying to use the JVM arguments in order to change the folder and drive which my server uses. Whenever I host a server it automatically creates new folders and files in my C drive despite the arguments used on a shortcut, and within the .json and server.bat directly. I'm at a complete loss at what to do to fix this issue, I've attempted multiple fresh installs as well to no avail. If I could get a step by step, or something with images so I know i'm doing these methods totally correct that would be helpful. I've been slamming my head against the Startup Parameters on PZwiki for 4 hrs now.
  2. I have been messing with server settings for weeks, trying to balance a PVE server for new players, to make it not too hard they'll quit, neither too easy they'll get bored of it. Anyway, I feel like the effect nature's abundance have on foraging is way too low, but way too high on fishing; I believe if we could set their abundances apart from eachother we could go for a more realistic experience. That's all I guess. If Anyone knows how I can do it somehow, let me know. SFMBE. Thanks.
  3. Hello friends I tried anything I could but it doesn't working, Deleted all data, Reinstall game. All of it failed. Start new server won't help me too. Please I really need help. It would be good if anyone can tell me what is wrong with my game. Here Logs logs.zip Thank you -Sincerely Ps. I Using the mod for server too.
  4. Hello, I and 4 other friends were comfortably playing Project Zomboid together through a server hosted in-game but suddenly we're all unable to play together now due to numerous issues such as: Initially, it started out as 2 friends got stuck in a complete black screen while joining the server, there is no text at the bottom. After a while, they were able to join with 200ms (before it was a smooth 20ms ~ 40ms) but it caused issues like zombies disappearing and teleporting. When in the server, some parts of the map do not load, it appears as the area is cut off and pitch black but we (the ones who don't have connectivity issues) can pass through. We've tried a few things to fix the issue, here is what they are: We tried re-installing the game and deleting the Zomboid project. We tried changing saves and creating a new one but the existing issues were still present. I tried to host on Windows 10 and Debian 11, but the issues remained present. I also tried to host through in-game and a dedicated server on both operating systems. I tried reducing and increasing the server memory from 1GB up to 4GB. I tried hosting with and without UPnP, if without UPnP I would port forward. I tried hosting with DMZ enabled on my machine. The host machine runs these hardware specifications: Ryzen 5 2400G. 16GB RAM. 120GB SATA SSD for the server and game. 300Mbps upload/download on fiber optic. Windows 10 Pro and Debian 11, both 64-bit. The strange part is that this problem is only exclusive to Project Zomboid. I also run a Starbound dedicated server (both Windows and Linux) and everyone has no issues connecting, reportedly having the same ping when Project Zomboid wasn't acting up. Any help is appreciated.
  5. As stated above, those console commands do literally nothing apart from the return functions at the end. Admin panel weather stop and weather start options do work. I've tested this on an unmodded server, the console commands just give their return line of "rain started"/"rain stopped" but don't really do anything besides those return functions. This is a pretty big issue for Hydrocraft servers specifically. While it's on the mod dev to fix his mod, a very nice workaround would be a simple program that detects a specific error (rain in hydrocraft can cause errors while loading chunks) and then runs the stoprain command. Without these console commands functioning this isn't an option and it then forces hydrocraft servers to disable rain altogether. Thank you guys for the updates you have pushed, and here's hoping soon that non-tile containers will actually save their inventory data when players remove stuff from them soon as well, but please consider patching this issue real quick as well for the coming update.
  6. 41.65 No mods Does not crash, but Exception happens each tick, causes cars to not function, admin car spawn option does work, VHS tapes dont play, cant break down barricades etc. Server Brutality [ENG], server has been running for 3 weeks with no wipes, restarting the server seems to fix the issue. 7. I am starting a server and am wondering if it is possible to set zones for specific things, like pvp, no building, admin only, no looting, periodic reset, etc. Is there an existing way to do this, or would it require custom modding? I have seen similar features in some of the servers I joined and would like to add it to my own. Thanks
  8. How to change the amount of starting perk points? I have a company that does my hosting but I have to tell them what to edit ect...anyone know? and will it affect future players?
  9. So I was having the issue where the game gets stuck on loading world when hosting a multiplayer server. I copied my map and player data from the zomboid folder to make sure it wouldn't get deleted. I then uninstalled the game and deleted the zomboid folder and the project zomboid folder. After reinstalling the game and placing my saves in zomboid/saves/multiplayer they don't show up as an option to launch in the host menu. By the way I've been running this server with Hydrocraft. In order to get it to work I always open the options.ini file in the zomboid folder and add "Mods=Hydrocraft" (without the quotes). When I click the mods tab in the main menu it does list Hydrocraft as being installed. Thanks for any help or advice in advance!
  10. Hey everyone and merry christmas to all of you! I enjoyed playing PZ with friends for a long time. Recently we had a longer break and wanted to start again since the stable build (in GOG) 38.30.3 is out. I updated my copy with the Galaxy client, my friend installed the updated version directly (he owns a copy but doesn't want to use a client) and we wanted to play, so I hosted a server but when he wanted to join, every single connection try resulted in a failure. The error message in his dos box said that a no steam client would not be able to connect to a steam client. As I mentioned, we both own PZ on GOG, so steam isn't involved anywhere. For today I hosted a new server which was an exact copy of an old one (with the very same settings). The old servers ran without any problems so I assume that those problems are a result of the recent updates. Is this a common problem at the moment or am I missing something here? I would really appreciate some advice. If you need to know anything, please just ask. Have a nice evening and happy hollidays! styx
  11. Hey guys, me and my friend rented our first server ever, at Nitrado.net Setup was very easy but I do not know what I am doing since its the first time we rented a server. Could someone help out me with few things: 1. Loging in to server: I can find my server in PZ but cannot connect to it! What kind of username and password should I use? If I want to login as admin or as a regular player? Where do I define this? What option should I select if I want my server to be private or password protected? 2. Adding mods to the Server: I know how to define mods in the ini/info file, basicly I just copied over settings from our previous MP game that I was hosting from my pc. But do I also have to copy mod folders to the online server? Thanks guys!

  13. Alright so I tried asking for help with this back on your steam forums about 1-3 weeks ago, never got a single reply. I requested a server from Pickle Hosting, they have others who also wanted it as well. After I requested it, they decided to start working on trying to get a console or such set up for TCAdmin, they were having major issues with it from what I was told. They couldn't get the settings "printed" to TCAdmin making it hard to try to run the server from there. They were going to try to get in contact with you, but I offered to do that myself to help the process along. I've been busy past few weeks waiting for a reply from both you and them. If you can get in contact with them to help them out that would be great, because The Indie Stone combined with Pickle Hosting being able to host could bring even more to PZ. So in all truth if you can reply to this and possibly provide some input on helping with this whole set up, it would be very much appreciated, since I am rolling with a group who has been waiting for us to get a new server back up, since our last one got torn apart by a couple of people.
  14. Hello everyone, I have a very important question that it's affecting our players. When we start the PZ Server as Steam, automatically my IP is assigned to the server. That is what we saw in the Public List of servers. So users when joining will save the server as IP and his character local files will be created using this IP Address. But sometimes my IP changes and players have to manually change the local files to reflect the new IP. I already have a hostname assigned to my server but I can't make the Public Server list reflect the hostname instead of IP. Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance,
  15. After trying multiple methods. Resetting everything. And going again. No one is giving clear instructions on how to run and connect to the server. I am running windows. Downloaded and successfully ran the SteamCMD and its app update for the dedicated server. Now what. Every port on my router is open, so port forwarding is irrelevant. I do have workshop items as well, hydrocraft ect. I saw them update uwhen i ran app_update from steam cmd so until i can check the server that seems to be in order. How do I run the server. How do i configure it. How do i connect to it. How do others connect to it. I have Hamachi if it helps at all. Keep in mind i have NEVER had any sort of server running. Assume if it i didnt say it in the post, I havent done it. *EDIT To clarify, I want to run a server, that anyone can join, including myself on the same computer.
  16. Hey guys, I was wondering if you could host private servers on the build 27 using hamachi. Me and my friends want to host and play together on a private server. I used to host on older builds but now it doesn't work anymore. Thanks!
  17. FIXED!
