  1. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1833104574 This is Fast Travel via Helicopter mod, utilizing Hydrocraft, and the Bedford, Hashima, Midway, Odintsovo and Slocan Lake maps. You can fast travel, via an admin-placed Helicopter, but it requires the following: - A Passport - 2 full Cans of Gasoline - $1000 in one-hundred-dollar bills - And either a GPS, or a Compass and a Map Although I made this for the Monghell Server, it should be a simple matter to adjust this mod, and upload a modifiied version, for other servers. Planned additions: - being able to use gold coins, or possibly a credit card, instead of $1000 cash - triggering the Helicopter event so it follows whomever travels with this
  2. This is an offshoot of the "Nerf Helicopter" thread by @mengvang04. How could the helicopter event be freshened up a bit? I thought this might warrant its own thread. Ideas so far on helicopter feautres that could be added (and one I've added at the bottom): 1. Hidden radio frequencies which detail when a heli is coming, and clues as to its purpose (see below). 2. Armed chopper. Guns, explosives, napalm, whatever. It has come to kill zeds and you with them. Late game and rare. 3. Observation chopper. It's come to follow you around to study how you engage the horde and survive (see present chopper event). 4. Flyover. Comes and goes quickly, perhaps several staggered passes in one direction. 5. Supply drop. A chopper is present long enough to drop a stash package. 6. My wish: "Extraction." Radio transmissions pointing to a secret location where a plucky survivor can be rescued. Could be randomly generated similar to safehouses/burnt houses and stash maps. But if you get there, they kill you, assuming you're a carrier. An optional "end game" in which you die. Thoughts? Comments? Additions?
  3. Iv'e been playing PZ for a good 3 years now and one of the things that seriously needs to be nerfed is the DAMN HELICOPTER! Before, it was cool with just the swaying away here and there, but now it seriously looms over you like the freakin eye of sauron. I even did a few tests were I stayed in the building, never went out, and all of a sudden MAGICALLY the helicopter appears over my house and begins its looming killing my character. Seriously unrealistic trick to kill the player. Just like a poorly cheap magician's parlor trick, this really kills the magic of the game. Another good analogy is those pay to win games where you reach a certain point of the game where you need to start paying because the difficulty gets so hard, same with the helicopter. The game realizes your living a bit too long so they BLAST you with a helicopter without no gradual progression. The game literally is saying TIME TO DIE HERE IS A HELICOPTER NOW WEEEEEE! Don't you all agree?

I would love to see some kind of option between curtains being closed or completely open, maybe a severely limited field of vision where the player is only visible to zombies adjacent to the door or window? The reason I ask is that during helicopter events, even if the player immediately steps back after opening the curtains to see which way the horde is moving (ie "have I been spotted?") it seems the heli can still see the player and brings a horde the the safehouse. I like what the heli events do for the atmosphere of the game and don't want to see them nerfed, but it's frustrating when your player makes it inside in time, but gets spotted looking out the window; especially when it's 12pm in-game and you're not even breaking curfew.
  5. More interaction with the helicopter in the Helicopter Event would be nice. At a bare minimum, being able to tell WHAT KIND would be nice-the average schmuck could say "colorful helicopter, drab helicopter, helicopter with guns, big helicopter, little helicopter"; a Park Ranger could say "military helicopter, news helicopter, transport chopper, private helicopter", a Veteran could say "Boeing AH-64 Apache, Bell OH-58 Kiowa, Bell 206A JetRanger, Baby Belle" so forth and so on. Being a Veteran, Park Ranger, or similar profession might let you tune in with a Walkie-Talkie and address the pilots-for good or ill-and at the very least, get them to move away before they attract the zed. In certain cases, maybe even get them to scout the area for you? I don't really expect them to be able to fly you to safety-that's not really in the name of the game-but hell, just being able to learn where other settlements of survivors are and maybe establish trade would be nice.

If anyone wants to go out there and see if it happens to you that would be awesome
