  1. As more of a lore-type question, and a question about zombies in general (not just in Project Zomboid), I just had a thought: Why do zombies bang on doors and windows? Now firstly, just gonna rule out any of the 'smart zombie' stuff, I would never watch any zombie film that has memory-retaining or tool-using zombies in it simply because I find it stupid, it doesn't and will not make sense to me no matter what anyone tries to say. So let's look at the zombies in Project Zomboid, where they will see you inside a building and walk towards the windows or doors (why don't they all push up against the walls?), but they will stop at the window/door and stand there, repeatedly bobbing back and forth trying to smash through the window, however doing this seems like it would require some extent of thought processing: See foodChase FoodWalk into invisible wall (window)Lean back and then headbutt window to create force to smash through Surely a zombie's thought process should simply be to see, chase and eat people, they shouldn't have the ability to know that there is a window in front of them, they should simply attempt to walk through it, effectively pressing themselves up against the glass. Windows would still smash, however I'd imagine that a single zombie wouldn't be able to break through a window by himself, there would need to be a few pressing against it, using their body weight to break through, rather than them consciously doing it. Now this may just be due to the animation they have when breaking in, but it does bug me a bit. The same applies for zombies that vault over fences and through the windows, I don't see how this would be possible, they need to trip/stumble over an obstacle if it is low enough, or get stuck against it until their sheer weight breaks through it. I don't like how they seem to posses the same motor skills as you do. Just my thoughts on this, would like to know how you guys feel about these things! -Ben
  2. I would like to see the ablility to block doors with yourself to try and prevent zombies (or other survivors) from getting through them, until you or maybe one of your friends finds something more suitable to barricade the door with. So yeah thats it what do you guys think?
  3. I cannot express the anger I feel when I guess that the other side of the door is free of zombies yet I end up running into a group of them Why can't my character look through the glass present on the door? Or use some kind of peephole to check for zombies? I think this should be added into the game
  4. Multiplayer is fantastic, but the constant fear of someone walking in to your 'home' is ever present. In a future update the ability to lock a door would be awesome (like Rust). Doesn't have to be complicated, opening a locked door requires a preset password so your fellow friendly survivors could enter. Thanks!
  5. Hey guys, I got another suggestion to share with you guys, but first would like to say thanks for being so great and helpful, seriously this fan community is just the best! Ok, but without further ado, let me begin my suggestion. I think it'd be very cool and helpful to have a way to kick, using the F key. Kicking would be used to push zombies off of you without being bit/scratched and to kick in locked doors. To balance out this mechanic kicking would consume a huge amount of stamina and could only be done 3-4 times in a row before you're completely exhausted. To explain why this would be useful, picture this: You walk into a dark house...you just broke your bat fending of the horde outside...you open the door to the bedroom and a zombie's standing right there. Instead of pushing him off of you and risking being infected, you tap F and kick him back, run out of the room, close the door, and search for a weapon to kill him. Useful? I think so. Kicking could also be used to break open doors with weaker locks, for instance the doors in the trailer park and smaller houses. When kicking zombies you have a 50% chance of knocking them down, and if you don't knock them down, it will knock them back and stun them for about 3-4 seconds. Certain traits would affect kicking, for instance Strong will increase knock back and chance of knocking them down to 75%, while Athletic would allow you to do 5-6 kicks in a row.(instead of 3-4) That's about it, if you would like to add anything to this post just tell me.
