  3. Hello there, After the latest update my game has crashed right on start not making it to the title screen or menu. Here is the log. I have already tried: 1.Validating the game files 2.Re-installing 3.updating my graphics drivers 4.removing all Mods that were installed 5.rebooting Here are my computer specs: 32 GB RAM Intel Core i7-9700K @3.6GHz RTX 3080 - Diver version 566.36 Microsoft Windows 11 hs_err_pid13664.log
  4. First time 42 was released, the game couldn't even make it past the menu. After the first hotfix, the menu would load and work (although VERY laggy), but not the game world itself when you are done creating a character and click on "Click here to start". It just doesn't load in, and it crashes. With the newest update (42.1.0) which i had hope that it would be fixed, same thing is still happening. To clarify: AMD user here.   5. As title says, I use Nobara 41, latest updates on everything, I am also using AMD. What happens is that when I start any type of new game (tutorial or any gamemode) the game goes to a black screen and crashes after like 40 seconds. The same happens when I change any setting. I tried reinstalling the game, compatibility mode, and even forcing Proton to test the Windows build, same happens on everything. Compatibility mode shows me a black screen though right after I start, but I can hear music. logs.zip
  6. Hello, Project Zomboid crashes on startup via Steam, no matter which launch options I use. I am also unable to host a server, no matter which settings I emplace in it's configuration. I can get the game to eventually launch after rebooting my computer; however hosting a server demands that I reinstall the game entirely. I am on Windows 11 and will attach the console.txt, DebugLog.txt, crash dump files found in steamapps/common, a Crash Dump from my attempts at hosting a server, and an image of my System Specs. 41.78.16 (Steam) is the version I am attempting to run. console.txt Steps I've taken: Reinstallation/Verification of Files Deleting User Files Deleting all Files Trimming down all settings, as if I had a computer with less than recommended System Requirements 14-01-25_18-21-45_DebugLog.txt hs_err_pid3320.log 14-01-25_18-27-33_DebugLog.txt 14-01-25_18-28-29_DebugLog-server.txt
  7. I have the following observations and context that may be relevant to why my game is now crashing. My Riverside safehouse has animals: chicken, pigs, cows, and sheep About an in-game day before my game started to crash, my game started to heavily stutter and FPS went very low, at which point I Quit to Desktop and reloaded the save, seemingly without any issue. Playing on generally normal settings but without zombie respawn The game runs fine when I am away from my safehouse (even went on a trip from Riverside to Muldraugh to test), but the moment I begin to approach my safehouse, to the extent that it is a bit closer than the edge of the default-zoom minimap, my game will crash. Further testing: When I approach the side of the safehouse with the cows and sheep, they load fine. When I approach the side of the chicken and pigs, the game crashes. The game still crashes even after minimizing the graphics settings. Reducing resolution does not prevent crashing, but allows me to approach the safehouse further than with a higher resolution.   8. Hey I was wondering if someone can help me resolve this issue. I have a mod list and I'm sure there is a problem with it as it crashes on the loading screen just before you click start. im sure it is a mod issue because the game works fine without them but because there are quite a few mods I don't really want to spend hours turning them on and off until I find the problem so I will post my log. I'm not very smart when it comes to understanding it and hopefully someone can help me. Thank you console.txt

Equip one, place the other. 4. Right click the equipped, and selected as the active bag, trash bag and put it away in the placed one, and the game freezes.   10. Version: 42.0.1 Revision: 25246 Mode: Singleplayer Server settings: N/A Mods: None Save: New Save Reproduction steps: Start up a new save. Type an extremely long name into the save file box. I just copied + pasted qwertyuiop 19x times and then added a 1 on the end to get to 191. Confirmed in my testing that 190 characters DOESN'T crash the game. Game works fine until you try to press "play" after creating the character. I've had 2 different outcomes from this. If the name is between 191 and 255ish characters long, the game will freeze on the "These are the end-times" screen, then a red box with "Error 3" will show up in the bottom right corner and the game will close. The log titled "2024-12-21_13-16_DebugLog" was created after this crash If the name is OVER 255, the game will instead go to a black screen that says "This savefile directory doesn't exist.   12. So I boot up B42 and noticed, the art at the main menu is still the one from B41 and, I shrug it off. Everything is going great until a few seconds there was some stutters and when I got to character creation the game crashed and when I do make it past the character creation the game crashes at the loading screen. I also got the latest AMD Radeon graphics card, so please I need some answers, you can also look at my logs.zip if you notice anything. logs.zip
  13. I am running a bit of an older computer, but build 41 ran fine as long as i kept the settings a bit lower. Build 42 is crashing quite a bit however -crash when loading a new game if another program is open (did not ever happen with build 41) -crash when zooming out quickly during gameplay -stuttering when zoomed out during gameplay (partial zoom out. have not been able to try full zoom out due to crashes) -crash when panning the camera if partially zoomed out during gameplay Checking the console seems to indicate the game is running out of memory as i suspected, but also mentions this: Memory free: 242.90727 MB Memory max: 3072.0 MB Memory total available to JVM: 254.0 MB If this is referring to the RAM as I believe it is, something is very wrong with memory allocation because I am using a 16 GB computer Update (with console file named 'console 2'): -messed around with memory allocation in the json file. added an argument to set a minimum of 1gb -replaced the argument for windows 10 to make it exactly the same (with the same minimum of 1gb and max of 2gb) -Continuing the last save file made before the change crashes game (-created new save file set in muldraugh. game crash. nothing seemed wrong on the console. forgot to make a copy of console to show. unsure what happened. other saves are in riverside) -created a new save file. it ran fine. barely any stutter when panning, no crash when zooming out -closed the game and booted it back up. tried to continue this last save file. game crash. -console once again reads 'out of memory' Update 2: (ended up fixing it) -memory was now fine but game started crashing in the menu -noticed my driver was in serious need of an update -updating that caused the game to stop crashing -memory is still doing fine after changing the minimum -no longer any issues with the zoom, and can boot up other programs while playing -unsure if the updating driver was all that was needed to fix the entire issue, or just part of it, but game works fine console.txt console 2.txt
  14. The game crashes every time the lighting strike at the menu plays. it also crashes after a short time upon trying start a game. For my specs I have a HP pavilion with a Ryzen R 5500 with integrated graphics and 8gb of memory. hope this helps.
  15. Hello! I have a problem with PZ that has persisted for years. When I try to play in multiplayer mode, my game crashes, logs out of the server and crashes my entire PC in the process. I thought it was a local problem, but I already formatted my PC and nothing changed. I love this game and I don't want to give it up again. Please help me. logs.zip

Hi, I have always played without any kind of problem, however since I purchased the Blue Yeti microphone about a week ago (and I also use it as an audio output device with my headphones) it happened to me that the audio inside the game exploded. Let me explain better: after about half an hour or an hour of playing I hear a small 'pop' and then after about 2-5 minutes the audio explodes in the headphones as if it were the white sound of an old, untuned television. This "explosion" changes the volume of the game much higher and alters all other sounds. I discovered that the sound that explodes is the music because by lowering it completely from the settings the 'white noise' disappears but I can no longer play because, as I wrote, this "explosion" alters everything else. Do you think it could be some sort of incompatibility with the device I use? If I connect headphones to the PC's audio output I don't have any problems. Thanks
  17. • Version 41.78.16(Steam) • Singleplayer • No mods. • Old save. • Reproduction steps: 1. Go south to the trailer park. 2. Get spotted by a zombie in the house at the attached coordinates. 3. Check the white car nearby to see if it's in good condition. 4. Go back to the house, clear the broken glass from the window she broke, and go in. 5. Fight the zombie. 6. Turn off the lights. First the one by the door, and then the one by the sink. 7. Go to the cabinets by the oven and open the loot table. The game then freezes for a few seconds before crashing to the desktop. Coordinates: 10820 x 10404 x 0 Also, I was playing in windowed mode, with the steam overlay enabled, and I think I had blender running in the background. The first one that came up when I went back to it in debug mode was the cupboard above the sink, and that just had a bread knife and a spoon in it. I found what YanaMD asked for in my last post, and uploaded the console.txt file, but that was while I was in the process of rebooting the game with debug mode disabled. The game's running fine now, no crashing. Although, the lights that I turned off earlier were on again. logs.zip console.txt

While crouched, go out the back door, turn off the porch light, and go back inside. 3. Go in the laundry closet and check the inventory of the dryer. (It might have been a washing machine. I can't remember.) 4. Game immediately crashes to desktop. Coordinates: 8208x11601x0 Failed to replicate after starting the game again. Also, loading the game again later, the washing machine/dryer was empty. I don't know if it was empty before the crash or not. I would post a screenshot and my log file, but something's going wrong with my post attachments. Telling me that I have no post attachments, that I've used up all of the space for attachments, and that the two things I've attached in the past can't be found, and therefore can't be deleted to make space.

I have a problem, when I start the game, I can make my character, but when I hit play, the game crash on the loading screen, but that didn't happen before, now I can't play the game :c and I already downloaded drivers and updates on my pc, I checked the game files on steam, I gave up and downloaded the game again and the problem still, I don't know what to do now (Sorry for my bad inglish) console.txt
  20. Hello fellow Forum Members! I bought Project Zomboid 2 days ago and now I downloaded it and pressed start. After Steam said that the game is launching it said " X Stop" for 2 seconds before closing without even opening the game window. I already tried reinstalling and verifying 2 times as well as trying "novoip" and "noaudio". I already restarted my PC, updated Java, checked for new drivers and the 2nd startup option didn't work either. Startup as Admin didn't work. I have a Windows 10 PC 16 GB RAM RX 580 Ryzen 5 2600 My console.txt says: https://pastebin.com/ZMcXGyTR I already deleted these User/Zomboid Files once after I uninstalled the first time I hope someone can help me fix the issue! Working. 41.66 deployed to release branch ~3:00 AM PST. ~12:00 PM try to launch game after downloading, crash appears (Click on green Play button in Steam, app starts to open, quits back out to Steam Library) General troubleshooting Tried using alternative launch, same result (or error / pause is shown in window, see attached txt) Tried launching ProjectZomboid32.exe and ProjectZomboid64.exe from steam folder, also same result Tried verifying local files, no change in result Properties attempts Did some digging online, tried using '-nosound' and '-novoip' in properties -novoip no effect -nosound, game launches successfully, albeit without audio Disable Audio Devices/tweak frequency attempts Removed those in properties, tried disabling all my audio devices (Realtek sound card, elgato capture card, Corsair wireless receiver, LG TV speakers, NVIDIA broadcast): No effect, still same result In Windows Sound Settings, adjusted frequency of only audio output device plugged in to 16-bit 44 Khz and 32 Khz as recommended in this thread. Unplugged USB microphone. Unplugged wireless headset receiver (not an option as output nor input). Same result.   23. My game started to crash after the update so i cannot launch the game anymore. It crashes instantly the game tries to open itself. I think i've tried every little bit of method to fix it but it didnt work. Here's what i've tried so far: -Tried the alternate launch -Uninstalled my mods -Deleted my save files -Checked file integrity on steam -Reinstalled the whole game from scratch *I also tried choosing legacy41.65 from betas on launch options in the steam menu, i was able to get into the main menu but the game crashed again when i tried to enter my SP save file. (I tried this first when i havent uninstalled the mods yet) Before this update, yesterday, i was able to play the game perfectly fine. This update just broke everything for me. I have an AMD system (RX570, R5 1600AF) and every driver is updated, im using windows 10. logs.zip

  25. Hello, We've faced a critical and fatal bug on our dedicated server that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. If you attempt to react to any message sent by the Discord bridge service found on the servers, it'll crash the server instantly. The server logs somehow got deleted after restarting it (looked on all the backups, nothing there) but we had the same reaction appear on logs with a message similar to "Contact developer..." and "reaction javacord" errors.
