  1. Hi guys, I've been testing a server options and I just want to reconfirm what I observed - Buildings' positions and environment is kept on the server side in location Zomboid/Multiplayer/"servername" but player's location and inventory is kept on client side on their PC - even If I delete Multiplayer/"servername" folder on the server side, player after logging spawns in the sample place and with the same inventory don't you think is dangerous to keep players inventory on player side not server? That creates a problem if I want to restart server completely. I'm not able to force people to loose their items as they have inventory saved in their folders, and folders are created per IP of the server so changing the name of the server will probably not help.
  2. Well sense this is my first post im not sure how all these are done, but simply put. HOW, HOW HOW HOW have people not come up with the idea for multi story houses? For one it would add a new twist to the game itself, large sky scrapers and such. New homes and getting caught up in one, no way you as zombies are coming from above and below. So you have to climb out the window somehow lowering yourself to the ground, or die trying. Something amazing On the PZ website is them adding creative mode, so we as a community would be able to make those large City's we have always wanted. And with this mod we can actually make larger homes, taller, maybe even basements and bunkers? But for the beginning just multi story would be a wonderful start, let me know what you think!

  5. Now then fellow survivors. For a while now I've been recreating the village I grew up in, which mostly consists of semi-detached and terraced houses. As such, I've been building them in pairs or a big long row in the editor, rather than individual homes. Finally decided to create a mod to test it, realised how easy it was and got annoyed for not doing it earlier, but before long I had spawned in my childhood home. Awesome! However, as I had built both my neighbours house and mine as one, I could lock/unlock both front doors. Not the biggest crime in history I admit, but was wondering if there was something I was missing whilst creating. Is there a way to tell TileZed that there are numerous homes in one building and to spawn seperate keys? Or, do I need to create seperate buildings for each individual home and line them up in WorldEd? Either way, I'm happy. I'm not too far into making the houses as I've been focusing on gettng the pngs right. I can duplicate the buildings I have, split them in 2 and create side A and B. I'd just like to know before going on a building creation rampage and end up making more work for myself in the long run. Thanks for your time and to TIS for making Project Zomboid. It's pretty wizard.

    Some buildings

Here are some buildings i made from when the map tools came out and now. The inside of the station has a too large file size to upload, just imagine a bunch of chairs, an office, some cells an armory and an american flag. Dem american flags should always be included with american buildings. Most of 'em are work in progress as you can probably see. What's your opinion?
  7. In cities the first floor of apartment buildings is often on a slightly higher level than the street. See here: http://www.construction21.eu/lietuva/data/sources/users/6/images/PNB/marijonu31.jpg As survivor you could easily climb in there, but the zombies can't follow you. Wouldn't that be to overpowered? Yes, it would, so here are a few rules: - You can't open the windows from the outside, except for smashing, because you it's to high to apply force by pushing. These windows are also more solid as protection against burglars and hard to break. -You can't climb em if you're carrying to much heavy stuff with you. -Climbing is slow, so zombies could still grab you from behind. What are your thoughts?

    Custom sets of tiles

I have wondering about custom set of tiles i made for my buildings - if they stay assigned to the building when i export it or not? I have this doubt and i'm not sure that when i share my buildings on the forum, people using them will have missing tiles. Can someone confirm/deny this? Thanks in advance.
  9. Over a two months (game time), Hundreds of supply runs, few close deaths by falling down, and many killed zombies, I managed to do this. I didn't know, should I post this here.
  10. I'm interested In learning how to make maps for Zomboid, I want to start a HUGE project with some of my friends and create the city of Melbourne, Australia. However Melbourne is a collosal city with buildings stretching upto 91 floors [see Attached]. I would guess the engine couldn't support buildings that tall or it would cause conciderable framedrops. I'm wondering if it would be possible to do this either now or in the foreseeable future. Thanks in advance
  11. Hello everybody! I'm very new to the game (and by very new I mean I literaly bought the game within the last 24 hours, lol) and I thought I'd have a go at making a building because actually playing the game is just too nerve wracking for me right now. So here it is! It's a 2 bedroom, 1 bath single story home. Please let me know what you think of it and I would appreciate suggestions on how to make it better. (And also please let me know how it works in game - I'm not advanced enough yet to pop it in and test it myself.) Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mbsllk82va1x8g1/Jinja-2b1ba-1.tbx Peachtree - 3 bed, 1.5 bath, attached garage, 3 fridges Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5de4iigsvk9bb5w/Jinja-Peachtree.tbx And of course if you like it so much you want to use it in your maps, credit is much appreciated!
  12. Ok, quick question. Is it possible to make your own tiles in-game? I would like to know, if there is ny possibility for this. For example, I want to create my own walls, roofs, accents and other things. To be able to suit the style of buildings I'm going for. But I don't know where to start. what size do the tiles need to be, what program can be used, how would the tiles be recognized as stairs, or a door or whatnot. Can I import other tiles from regular pngs. If anyone has any idea please let me know. I'd like to create some tiles. If at all possible.
  13. I know that this isnt the first priority here and what not... but I think that special buildings should have special features. The bank and the police station should have better/bigger doors and bars in front of the windows. which woild make those two the imba-safehouse, if only everyone could enter these buildings... Maybe these buildings can either be forced to let you in (i.e. break stuff like windows or doors through high effort and wastage) or you could find the key to these buildings random in a house (where the police chief or the bank manager could have lived)... In the future, just like in the past, I guess that those buildings are great as a fortress and should be guarded by npc or crazypeople ATM most buildings are the same and it doesnt really matter which one you enter, of course some have things others dont (i.e. watercooler) but mostly the differences arent so big, despite the looks. just calling for some diversity and further specializations. In general i'm very happy with knox county and love roaming it, looting stuff and distributing splattered brain onto streets and walls. Really eager to see where PZ is going in the future! You guys are AWESOME!
  14. I think adding the possibility of make concrete walls will be great. It will aloud the player not only to build something better (and stronger) than plastered wodden walls, but also to build more high-big buildings. (you know woods and nails aren't good for that, if you want to keep a realistic touch to the game) Also would be easy to add (I think) 'cause you will need only a "Bag of Cement Powder" (could be made like the "Plaster Powder Bag") a "Bucket with water" and a "Trowel". For all the youngest out there that's what I mean: Uploaded with ImageShack.com The lv. of carpentery to use the cement should be around 3 or so. I think that because I'm a construction worker in real life and if you in lv.3 carpentery can make a decent stairs (that are hard as hell to do with wood, let me tell you that!) you must be able to use cement. That's it guys. Let me know if is not new or whatever.. thanks!
