  5. Hello! After several hours of banging my head against the screen and general mod-writing stress, I bring you: The Juice Mod! No, it's not really that amazing. This was just a project for me to try and learn the basics of modding PZ. However, since it works I thought I would upload it so people can tell me what they think. You never know, you might even think it's useful! Or better than the other one! Anyway, here's the link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18741755/juicemod.zip Recipes etc are in the readme. One thing I'm not sure of is this line in the distribution file: JuiceMod = {}I have no idea what it does or why it is needed, but the file does not work without it. Anyone who knows, please tell me! I worked it out! One other thing, I was thinking of making a drying rack that you actually had to place and use rather like a campfire. I was going to poke around in the game files to try and find a way of doing it, but if anyone has any ideas of an easy way (or telling me it's incredibly difficult), it would be appreciated. Any feedback would be welcomed!
  6. Ror's Custom Items v1.0.1 Now with more Molotov cowbell! Download link Changelog: Spoiler V1.0.1(12-02-2014) Molotov cocktails crafted now have 50% longer throw range Torch with much higher brightness, longer range, and half the weight (1 instead of 2), but only half the battery life! V1.0.0 (10-02-2014) Molotov cocktail now be crafted. Please check the PZ Wiki for the recipe, or use the CraftHelper mod. Installation Instructions: Spoiler 1) download and unzip the file from link above 2) place the folder inside the .zip file into your User/UserName/Zomboid/mods/ folder 3) select Ror's Custom Items from the Mods menu in Project Zomboid 4) Exit PZ and restart again 5) Start new game, craft Molotov cocktails, and flambé those zombies until they're crispy! To uninstall: 1) deselect Ror's Custom Items from the Mods menu 2) exit the game 3) remove mod folder from the User/UserName/Zomboid/mods/ folder 4) the savegames you played using my mod should revert to using the default PZ items Notes: Spoiler This is just a silly mod that I made because I wanted to understand the modloader a bit better, I didn't see it anywhere else in my travels on the forum, and also because I wanted to be able to tweak stuff and add items into the game that I've wanted to play with for a while (... namely the Molotov cocktail!). I thought it would be nice to share what I've done with others, too. Stating the bleeding obvious: Spoiler Please don't use this on a world you value, until you've tried out on one you don't! It does work, I've tried it out myself, but this is just my way of saying that I am not responsible for ruining your saved worlds if your precious savegame goes toes-up for any reason... (that said, if you run into any issues with this mod, please let me know) I'm also not responsible if you burn down your safehouse, but that ought to go without saying! Obviously the molotov will be in the vanilla game soon enough, at which point this bit won't be needed. However, I just made this for myself as my first foray into PZ modding. Next steps: Spoiler Depending on interest, or otherwise, I may add other features to it as they come along. If you think of anything you're interested regarding adding to or tweaking of current in-game items or recipes, please let me know. Thanks go to: Spoiler RobertJohnson for his post/tutorial on the modloader and how to play around with it. Coming soon (maybe...) Sawn-Off Shotguns with extra BANG! Noise travels much further - for when you absolutely, positively have to aggro every deadhead within 500 squares of you! Edit: 2014-02-12
  7. I've been playing the build 23 for a few minutes now and something just gave me the chills big time. I had established a small base in the tavern in south Muldraugh, when I decided I'd go for a longer loot run to mid-Muldraugh. I hadn't left the vicinity of the tavern except to near the police station for a small fight and shouting competition and to the trailers nearby. So I started wandering to the suburbs when I saw an open door. I thought to myself that I must have left it open when I've been looting. But then there was this voice inside my head saying: "I never leave doors open after looting..." I disregarded the door at first, but when I went closer I noticed that the window next to the door was open too. Now I thought that somethings amiss. I NEVER leave windows open after I climb through. It's really a reflex that I turn around and close the window. Then I started looking through the house. The fridge was empty. Ok. I could have been here 'coz it's the first thing I do always. Then I checked the cupboards and found 20 rounds for a pistol and some nails. Now there's no way I could have missed all of them since they were all in different containers. I decided to ignore the whole thing, because it was giving me the creeps to be honest, and pressed on to an area I hadn't been to before. Then I saw this: Spoiler Look at the window. Why?!?! What have I done to deserve such a freakin' scare? I circled around the house a bit until I deared to climb inside through a different window. There was an open door inside the house too. *Scared shitless* The questions are: Am I going insane?, Do I just have a shitty memory? or is this a similar meta-thingy as the gunshots, but a new one? Most importantly: Has somebody been here? I give it to you Dear Watsons: 'When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth'?
