  2. Download Link http://pz-mods.net/weapons-items/NamedWeapons/ I would like to thank RoboMat for helping me out with learning LUA. He once said something along the lines of "It doesn't matter if the code is pretty, as long as it works." Thanks. Also I used your rounding function. This mod adds incentive to hold onto weapons and repair them. After a certain number of kills a weapon will get a prefix that adds stats. After a second certain number of kills the weapon will get a suffix. These numbers are based off of the weapon's durability and are all different (thanks to ZombRand). For example: A spoon will require approximately 5 kills to get a prefix whereas an axe will be somewhere around 50. These two numbers are printed in the console and your player will announce it when he realizes the weapon he's using has been good to him. WEAPON MODS Durability is increased and condition restored when you hit the kill limits. This was inspired by Diablo 1.

  6. Prelude So I'm not the proud owner of 229 stones or more*. Got me thinking there should be more uses for them then making crude stone hammer... especially when I'm the proud owner of 260 hammer (most of them in mint condition). Below you'll see a list of suggestions that I'll try to update with community input to give an ongoing list. List of suggestion for stone use - Crafting Campfire kit Make this an ingredient in the campfire kit as there is already some in the sprite when you place it on the ground. No need to go crazy... just a couple of them as they are fairly easy to get. Failling that, have an heavier version of the campfire kit that requires and offer more resistance to fire spread. Stone wall and stone fences (see post #2 for extra reading) I think there could be 2-3 versions of each full wall and half wall (fences). The first two are my real suggestions. Stacked stones : require quite a lot of stones, long building time, offer slightly more resistance then a log wall (assuming this wall is a feet thick or so and 3 or 6 feet high... that's quite a lot of stone and weight to move around) Mortar (concrete?) and stacked stone : offering a higher degree of sturdiness, require slightly less stones, longer to build and may require to do a multi stage building. Stones in a concrete mix to thin out the mix : lowering the effectiveness of the concrete in some ways (cohesion), less concrete required and some stones needed. Stone pathway (see post #2 for extra reading) Nothing says... I'm an awesome survivor, like being able to make a stone laced pathway to your or around your base. It could require gravel/sand beneath or through it to fill the gaps. List of suggestion for stone use - Weapon Siege like weapon (see post #3 for extra reading) Nothing is easier then dumping a ton of stones on some attacker at the foot of walls. It requires only that the stones are there in a container of sort that can be pivoted to make the stone fall (in some cases they are merely held against a cliff by a support). Some high end version could require very little time and effort to activate (removing or breaking a support so it pivot down... instead of having to pivot up). It's actually easier to do then using burning oil and stuff. Now there is a question of quantity required though, as I understand those stones are fairly small (i.e. not boulders). Sling (not to be confused with slingshot) Stones could be used as ammo for a sling. It would be a cheap, quiet, and early game alternative to firearms. The sling could be made with some twine or rope and a sheet. Remember David? Credit due to @HiveMinder (see post #1). List of suggestion for stone use - Fun stuff Decorative stones This may also be considered crafting. With the soon to come custom logos on T-Shirt, it may expend the possibilities for other objects. You could paint some stones with faces, or anything for that matter, to decorate your base and/or ward-off the loneliness of being a lone(ish) surviver. Kind of like Wilson in Cast Away. Credit due to @SaltandPretzels, see post #3. Skipping stones The sun is setting slowly, frogs and crickets are filling the air with their chants and fishes jump to catch flies. You're leisurly throwing a few Skipping stones accross the Ohio River while you contemplate what nature offers you. For a brief moment you can almost forget you are in a Zombie appocalypse and feel good. Skipping stones could provide a boost to happiness, reduce boredom and stress. It could also serve in contest of who make the most bounces. Credit due to @uberevan, see post #4.
  7. Not sure if this is a thing, I'm playing a metalworker and just thought that i should be able to take my metal bar and my knife and weld them together for a spear. maybe make a slower saw out of sheet metal, and a metal tube.
  8. I'm pretty sure this was already brought up by someone, but suggestion forum search gives nothing. I'll try to explain on the example of our favourite axe. Current weapon repair system looks like this: Glue Repair -> Tape something else. I suggest to add one more intermediate menu - location. Glue Repair -> Broken Handle -> Tape New handle Possible damage for the axe: broken handle, dull blade, rusty axehead, broken axehead. That would add even more variability to the current repairs (Replacing details instead of repairing them, for example) and improve complex weapons' durability. Many players complained that weapons break too fast. Sometimes it's upsetting to throw out favourite weapon, because repairs can't help it any more. It would be mostly for complex weapon (Axes, hammers, knives, screwdrivers, spears, machete, and plungers), but sometimes they are most useful. Suggestion per day keeps zombies at bay.
  9. Esa es mi pregunta, se pueden usar los tornillos como Municion? O debo crear propiedades especiales para los tornillos? That's my question, you can be used as ammunition screws? Or should I create special properties for screws? Sorry for my English.
  10. Same with bags that can be equipped on your back. Scenario: You're looting some place and come across a better bag. You have a backpack and a baseball bat. You put the better bag in your existing bag, go back to your base, and there you equip your baseball bat primary, and equip your better bag secondary. Straight away, to equip your baseball bat primary, you must unequip it then equip primary. You do this to fight off zombies that may show up (I always keep a weapon equipped). So now you equip your better bag secondary, and start transferring across your loot from your old bag (on your back) to the better bag (equipped secondary) Now, how do you put the better bag on your back? That's right, you unequip both bags, then equip the better bag on your back. Now, how do you put equip the baseball bat in both hands? Yep, same again, unequip then equip in both hands. Really I'm suggesting a few things: 1) If you have a melee weapon equipped primary and another weapon equipped secondary, and you right-click another melee weapon and select "equip in both hands, the latter weapon should replace the former. Same with bags 2) If you have a bag on your back and you want to equip another bag on your back, the latter should replace the former. Same with melee weapons. 3) If you have a weapon equipped in both hands, and you equip something secondary, it should allow the weapon to be demoted to equipped primary. Essentially the scenario described above should be smoother IMO.
  11. Yes, this is a Wish List but i think it could help to improve the game. - Crowbar only works like weapon, but its primary use should be as window or doors opener. I don't know the coding mechanichs of opening them, but crowbar could make a little improvement. I think that also could be added lock picks. There is a thieve profession already in the game, so it should not be very far from the ambient of the game. Ok, before the apocalypse you were a decent person, but in this dark days you need to learn how to get in that houses without alerting every zombi in a block around, dont you? - Bleach only seems to work us suicidal weapon, but the rain water collected turns poisoned after i while. So, it is easy to purify. Also should work for cleaning blood stains or decompose zombi rotting corpses. Returning to the water, in any survival kit you would find some purifier tablets, maybe some filters. - Berries only gives food and some of them can poison you. I was a little disappointed when I saw the didn't have any extra efect. They could work as some of the drugs you can find (betabloquers, hipnotic, pain killers), with some little boost efects. It would give the game more fun. You can prepare yourself before doing some things. They could be by simply ingestion or need some preparation, like a berry tea. Also other herbs (forraged stuff) or spices (found in the kitchens). - Clothing its too plain. I mean it gives you a temperature protection, but IMO could be a great terrain of improvement. Some examples could be shoes: running shoes with a little improve to the sprint hability, soft shoes with a little noise reduction for stealth players, hard boots with a little injury resistance to feet located attacks (especially from crawlers, you know, that creepy bastards), etc. In the same words leather jackets shouldnt be so difficult to find and could give a little armor like boots, also weather protection. Rain-coats or plastic ponchos against getting wet, etc. You can see a poor hobo making himself a rain poncho with a garbage bag with some holes. I dont mean avoid it, but delay it perhaps. There are some special working tissues that give protection against cuts for workers, and so on. Also a climbing harness would be helpfull, I hate to broke my legs when repairing the house. - Rotten food. They say the Devs are preparing farm animals. Well, they usually are feed in this way. Also, rotten food is a very good ingredient for making compost, what reminds me that we need a compost bin, could be done with recipe and carpenter and agriculture levels. That compost bin could recicle also zombis corpses too. - Toys don't have any effect. They could have a recreational use that could fight the boredom or the sadness. - Traps are too dificult to build because sometimes the recipes simply don't appear in your map. So you have a lost hability. A good posibility could be zombi traps. I have mentioned in other thread, punji traps are a classic that could give a use for that wooden spears: We could have them in holes or use stakes in the base of the walls to prevent the zombis to get them. Also could be some alarm-traps, like wired cans that alerts you when zombis cross the line, very easy to build. Other traps could be made with the mirrors that nobody uses, like zombi atractors or reverse scarecrows (something that calls zombis attention till they destroy it). - Worms. If you are not in West Point they are simply useless. Oh, well, you say you can eat them, but at what cost. Ok, lets make them useful to the compost bin said above. Or let's go beyond, what about other bugs for fishing bait. Some recreational (jar of fireflies), some useful like bees, beehive, honey and wax that could be forraged. - Spirits. The whiskey bottle has three uses, but lacks of the use as fuel. Also would be nice to have an alambic to brew alcohol. We are in Kentucky, for Brooks' sake, it may be in some backyard hut hidden. - Fishes could be breeded and farmed, in home aquariums or fishing tanks. You would need a high fishing level also, but it shouldnt be imposible to acquaculture them. I have another things in my wish list, but don't exist in the game by this momment. - Bow and arrows, Crossbow and bolts. Slingshot. Some handmade, some found. I have read they are a possible Yes. I hope it is true. It is very unrealistic that you can make stairs, furniture, primitive axes, and can not make a simple bow. Or to think that in a small town of the US surrounded by woods you won't find any hunting bows or xbows somewhere. - Nail gun. For carpentry and as a gun. Ammo would waste the precious nails. - Irrigation hose, or something like that. Come on, there are very simple leaking systems that anybody with a little agriculture knowledge could make. - Machetes. Need to say anything else? C'mon, what is a zombi apocalipse without machetes or hatchets? What to say about the iconic katana. Who does want to see the zombi apocalypse if you can not do it with a katana? There would be to types. Wall-hangers (decorative reproductions), are easy to find in teen-agers rooms, decent damage, quick attack, bad durability as a kitchen knife. In the other hand, a hard to find item would be a real sword, aka "battle ready", difficult to find from collectors, pawn shops or sports asociations, with good damage, quick attack and very good durability. - Compass and/or some kind of maps. They should not act has a minimap. Instead, it could give you the posibility of marking a place and would give a signal indicating it when you go away. - Riot gear. I can't believe you can not find some riot shields, batons or riot vest in the police office. Also light-flares or smoke-flares. Night vision device would be also in police office or in hunters houses. - I should not mention the silencer or supressor, but I think it is not so bad idea if making them requires a high gunning level and/or recipes. They would not be suitable for all weapons only for pistols maybe. And they only would reduce the sound, not making them silent. - Other things I miss from the game are the posibility of recycle for making small things, like nails. Also habilities like tannery for the future hipothetically hunted animals fur. - Aerogenerator also should be a good item, and can be made by anyone with a little electronic skill. Maybe solar pannels could be from the pre-apocalypsis. - Last words for taming animals, companions and so on. They say the Devs ... but you know, we the customers would appreciate this feature confirmed . Also, wild feral animals, to hunt and to fear. They don't need to be "zombificable". A wild animal is a risk by itself. They should have a AI that gives them the ability to escape from any noise. I have read about a lot of good features but they are other people ideas and I have commented in the respective threads. If i have good feedback from this post I have other ideas to share, but only if the community likes the previous. Thanks for the game, it is very good. I only want it to be better in the future.
  12. "Fire bad" -Frankenstein's Monster; Frankenstein So, I wanted to address this issue... it is logical for filling pots or buckets with water/soil (and soil sacks) and pour them on fires to stop/extinguish them... but what about this: An Unconventional Way to put out fires... I don't think that it's a bad way to extinguish fires... O__O You usually carry them around fully loaded anyway and could be equipped to put out fires in a pinch (of course it wouldn't use conventional ones but shouldn't we try it out? XD So, there could be a lot of ways to snuff out fires, and I would love to see them in game... ... *whispers "Fire Hydrants"* O__O
  13. I have released my first mod! It is still very much a work in progress, but it is working! What would MacGyver do? He would have course make all kinds of crazy weapons out of stuff that are obviously not weapons in the first place. Most people would settle for that baseball bat or a fire axe or a crow bar. But not MacGyver. He would be on a constant search for new and creative ways to kill zombies. This is what this mod is all about: Making new weapons from all kinds of stuff you can find in Project Zomboid. I hope I will never actually finish this mod, and that it will continue to grow and evolve as the game develops. I will upload it to Steam Workshop when it has a bit more content and a consistent style of icons. Here are the two items currently in the mod. Feel free to give constructive feedback.

  15. There is a difference between bladed weapons and blunt weapons when it comes to aim in-game. IMO there should be a difference between two handed firearms and one handed firearms (I am using those two terms to encompass shotguns, i.e. not rifles vs pistols). Not only are two handed weapons much easier to aim IRL, but this would stop KOSers who level up "Aiming" quickly with a shotgun and then switch to a pistol. Ability to shoot a rifle accurately ~= ability to shoot a pistol accurately Just a thought.
  16. Ability to pull bullets from weapons. I can see people might complain about this because you could increase your reload skill without expending any ammo, but practicing mag changes is a real thing that people do to become more proficient at it. Body armor - would decrease damage done from bullets. This would help out in MP.
  17. Here are three new items with their respective mechanics that would flawlessly fit this game: 1. Ladders Ever seen one of these? These foldable metal ladders (which are rather commonplace in garages, construction sites and tool shops) would make quite a great addition to the game. First, they could be used to access the second-floor window of a house you were trying to get into. The downside would be that the zeds could knock it down as you are climbing and send you to your death (or a lot of fractures if you happen to survive). Also, they could be useful for building roofs to our bases, instead of having to waste wood and nails on building a freaking stair. They should be pretty rare (sorta like Sledges, which are hard to find), but completely indestructible. Another downside would be that you wouldn't be able to put it on your pack; you'd have to carry it in both hands (just like with a corpse) and its great weight (I think 10lbs would be a good weight) would slow you down. 2. Machetes No zombie game or movie is complete without one of these, and the same goes for pretty much every garden shed. Currently, the most practical weapons in PZ are always Blunt weapons (with the sole exception of the Axe, which is pretty uncommon); all Bladed weapons either do too little damage, break too fast or have a range so short you end up getting bitten. The addition of a machete to that list would help to balance against the more advantageous Blunt weapons like the Crowbar and the Baseball Bat (Nailed or not). Because the Axe is on the same level of rarity of the Sledge (which would be its Blunt counterpart) and given its wood-chopping capabilities, most ppl prefer (or at least so I've seen) to use it exclusively for lumberjack'n. Machetes should be the Bladed counterpart of the Crowbars; uncommon but not that rare, weighty but durable, and with a real good damage. They would also be found on the same places as Crowbars (crates, tool sheds, hardware stores, etc) which wouldn't make it to hard for them to be implemented. 3. Fire Extinguishers Technically, these are ALREADY in game, but they serve as much purpose as combs and toothbrushes (according to the Wiki, at least). But, let's be honest, we've all gotten our safehouse consumed by flames at least once. So, at the moment we see the flames emerging, why shouldn't we be able to grab one of these and put them out before they do more damage? It would require the same mechanics of a shotgun; just wear them in both hands aim at the flames and unleash a cone of CO2 upon them. However, they would run out after a few uses, just like a paint can. Not to mention they would be quite noisy and probably attract some zeds. Given they wouldn't have any combat use, they'd probably be pretty common. They could be found at houses' kitchens, offices, shops, schools, storehouses; in fact, they'd be found in lots and lots of places. Thing is, many of them would probably have little charge left or be plain empty. And, you wouldn't be able to refill them in any way; it takes a lot of specific tools and materials to get such task done, and it wouldn't be possible in a post-apoc setting. 3. Nightsticks Commonplace in many zombie games, and some places in real life too. So I was pretty surprised that I didn't found any of these in the police station. They would be a decent Blunt Weapon; less range than the Bat, but with a faster swing and much more durable. (Police Officer and Security Guard Jobs could come with a swing speed bonus to it, kinda like Axe Man does for Firemen and Lumberjacks). As for places to find it, Police Stations or any place that may require a guard (Like Banks, some Offices, Stores and Supermarkets, etc ), and sometimes maybe in the corpse of a zombie. (Zombie Cops should be a thing too) 4. Mops/Brooms Who doesn't have one of these at home or has seen the one the janitor of your office uses? They're not exactly a deadly weapon, tho (Unless you're Rei Miyamoto from Highschool of the Dead...). They'd be the shovel's weaker but more commonplace cousin; long range and lightweight but prone to breaking and rather weak. However, they'd be utterly common, and clearly a much better weapon choice than a pencil or your bare hands. 5. Wrench/Spanner Now were's a commonplace favorite I can't believe I forgot about! And although they're not common in people's houses or garden sheds (unless you're the handyman type or the ''Screw mechanics, I'll fix my own car!'' type), they'd be omnipresent on Auto Repairs, Hardware Stores and maybe even the trunks of cars and trucks (when they get added, that is). Combat-wise, they'd be the crowbar's bigger cousin; heavier but deadlier too, yet not as strong as the Sledge. Plus, now that the new Engineer Job that comes on at Build 32, they'd make a fitting weapon for them, or maybe even have some purpose disassembling stuff (it takes more than a Screwdriver to dismantle freezer) . Not to mention that if you're female, you could call yourself a Wrench Wench, one with a mighty Wrench Whack
  18. I think new weapons should be introduced to the Project Zomboid universe! (I'm sure I'm not the first to say this) I think Antize Weapons and bags Mod is a good start if you guys weren't already working on one, or is there a way to upvote/vote for a mod to be implemented into the core game? I've tested it and it seems fine, and you can tweak the balance of the weapons easily too.
  19. Hello everyone, I had this idea that, as far as I can tell, doesn't appear in the "often suggested" or "definitive no" lists. It goes as follows: When using a bladed weapon, the player has the possibility of lathering it in zombie blood, making it "infectious". Hitting another player (or NPC) would mean contact with zombie blood, and thus risk of infection. The chance wouldn't be as high as being bitten, but it could still be substantial depending on the damage done. I actually got this idea while playing the walking dead game. There's a scene where a character hacks another's arm off with a bloodied axe. Even if the arm came off, the blood on the axe would have meant the infection was still there. So basically I feel like it could be a nice little trick to add. Not sure whether it would make certain weapons OP though...
  20. I would like to suggest changes for the sake of realism, or perhaps options in the menu when starting a new game to bring more realism to the game. I love the game and one of the things I like most about it is that it has a feeling of realism to it that other games always lack. It is brutal and unforgiving just like a situation like this in real life would be. To that end, there are a few things already in the game, or expected to be added to the game in the future, that I think would break immersion. 1 - Tool/Weapon durability. I understand that this was implemented to add difficulty to the game but it is completely unrealistic and just seems a bit silly to me at times. I am a contractor and I have been building houses from the ground up for about 10 years now. I still own the first hammer I ever purchased 10 years ago. While I did eventually upgrade to a titanium hammer, the steel hammer I used previously saw about 40 - 60 hours per week of smashing steel and wood repeatedly. After all of that punishment I can still pick it up now and use it. I never had to repair it either. The axe is another tool I use frequently. Admittedly an axe does require occasional repair but that involves popping in a new handle, which is just a milled plank of hardwood. Using these tools as they are intended would not damage them in any significant way and using them to chop or bash what is essentially human bodies would actually be less likely to damage them. Guns do require maintenance but that involves breaking them down and cleaning them and applying oil where necessary. 2 - Power Generation - I know that generators are a planned feature but unless animal fat rendering is added to the game it wouldn't make any sense. Gasoline has a shelf life of about 30 days, so using that beyond a month or two is just out of the question. Same thing goes for vehicles. The only engines that would be viable after an event like this would be of the diesel variety, as they can run on biofuel. I would suggest that solar panels and windmills be added to the game as solar panels are fairly common and windmills are ridiculously easy to build. 3 - Farming - I think the farming in the game is excellent and I'd love to see how the devs expand on it further. I just have one simple suggestion here and that is hydroponics. I usually play with the grow times cranked to max for more realism. It is harder and requires a much large farm. I think that growing indoors/underground would be the way to go in a situation like the zombie apocalypse. It would also be interesting to see the mechanics involved as growing with hydroponics is more complex than one might believe. 4 - Fire - For the love of all that is zomboid, please fix the fire. I have the worst luck with campfires and watching fire spread across dirt, gravel and concrete just completely breaks immersion. 5 - Forge - We need forges badly. Forges are relatively straight forward to build and simple tools, weapons and armour can be crafted with most metal lying around absolutely everywhere in modern civilization. While blacksmithing can take an entire lifetime to master, rudimentary gear could be crafted even by an amateur that would serve the desired function well enough. Perhaps some or all of things are planned for the future and, if so, I can't wait to see it. If anybody has any additional ideas to add realism I would love to hear them as well. This game is the closest I have seen to a true survival simulator and I believe it has the potential to take that realism even further. I believe it is the greatest strength of the game and the game should be pushed even further in that direction. Make it hard, make it impossible even, but do it in a realistic way, so that it's that much more horrifying when our face gets chewed off by a zombie.
  21. Just wondering what in-game advantages a sawn-off shotgun has over a regular shotgun, and/or vise versa?
  22. Bigger, Better, Meaner - Battle of Tanks: Reloaded, our new Android game is out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thoughtshastra.battletankreloaded Battle of Tanks is an action-packed, addictive, 3D Android game. In Battle of Tanks Reloaded your goal is to win the war by completing 5 challenging objectives: 1. Demolishing the marching fleet of enemy tanks 2. Destroying 5 enemy posts 3. Launching an offensive to destroy enemy's air-base 4. Cutting off enemy's fuel supply 5. Destroying the command centre
  23. So I got to thinking, the developers don't really want you taking on hordes of zombies, and at the moment, I still do take on small groups even when fully exhausted + panicked. I think this suggestion has the potential to make people like me think twice (or carry a lot more spare melee weapons). What if when your exhausted + panicked, you have a chance to drop your current melee weapon on the ground, to simulate the zombies potentially grasping onto it (not that the zombies are smart enough to do that, simply that their trying to grab a hold of you and are grabbing at anything associated with you). This chance could be lowered with points in the guard skill (to simulate better control of your weapon). If they do grab your weapon, it simply drops to the ground, and if your in the middle of fighting a small horde, it defiantly isn't retrievable. This would ONLY happen if your swinging your melee weapon at zombies when your exhausted + panicked, and the chance can be scaled up with the exhaustion + panicked level.
  24. I am always annoyed about how often there are tables and chairs around that offer no use other than taking up space, but a table leg can offer a decent club in a tight situation and like a tree branch a stone or nail could be attached to it. A table top can often be broken down into thinner and easier to use planks for building or barricading. Just an idea mainly due to the mechanic of being able to create weapons from sticks and stones. (Which in PvP will most definitely break your bones.)
  25. A minimalist version of the TommyGuns Mod. This mod contains the following: AR-15Remington 700MacheteSurvival AxeSuppressor for the ARSuppressor for the vanilla pistolRucksack Enjoy!
