  1. The multiplayer is severely broken. Like, really, really broken. With that being said, I understand that I purchased this game with Early Access via Steam and willingly took on the responsibility. However, I don't think the focus should be on adding cars and the such when the MP side of things are so broken that it might ruin the potential of it ever being what it could be down the road. I might have to stop playing all together because it's that bad. With that being said - it has a lot of potential, but some things I thought of, in my opinion, my plant some seeds - who knows. If you are already working on some of these things, great! If not, then I worry a bit. I understand that this was a SP game first and foremost, therefore if the focus isn't going to be on multiplayer in fixing these huge problems within the next few months, then I'd say remove the MP until it can be better focused on altogether because the single player is great! This is from two weeks and almost 100 hours of playing Project Zomboid Multiplayer. (I played the single player like it was going out of style from 2013 and up and love the idea of the multiplayer) 1. Server Side Saving This would fix so many problems it's not even funny. People can easily manipulate the saves therefore, everyday on the server I'm on we're hit by more hackers than actually DDOSing now because people just load their save right back in once they die, or they edit the save file since it's saved on the computer in an easy-to-find location. It doesn't quite make much sense. This would prevent the easy editing and at least make it much, much harder to change things in-game. The server I'm on even checks files for its size to see if its been modified and still to no anvil. 2. Server optimization The netcode could be optimized a lot better than it is, but I'm sure this is already being worked on. 3. Zombie spawn behavior The spawn system for the zombies are a little weird, I think from experience the game checks to see if there isn't anyone in the area and if it isn't then it'll spawn zombies, so the end result is that you have zombies in places nobody will ever visit/or visit often and most of the zombies in the city killed off. Shouldn't it be something along the lines of % based + the activity in the area? I.E. if there's more activity in the city than the highway, then focus on spawning zombies around that area instead of the house by the lake which no one goes to and it ends up lagging the server because of all these zombies. (One time it was so many zombies, they all would lag off my screen when shot, then reappear out of no where and some wouldn't die, but they couldn't do damage to you when I had 67-92 ping) 4. Balance the weapons The weapons are extremely unbalanced in the multiplayer side of things. I'm not exactly sure how the weapons act besides from experience, reading the wiki, and hearing from others but it seems its just single player weapons for multiplayer. 5. Respawn times I had food from the night before, I logged back on the server and one second later it's rotten.. What? I just made it. It shouldn't go by the timer of the server if it's in your bag, each item should just have it's own timer, global protocols don't work for everything. 6. Multiplayer should only allow one file save. I've noticed that people are modifying saves so they can get resources way faster by just making multiple accounts all hacked to max level in different areas gathering different things. Not sure if that's an issue, but - it's happening. I think one save is good enough since it's a hardcore game first off and secondly, it'll probably be a lot more manageable for the server, the dev and the end user. 7. Fires can start but can't be put out without an admin? Fires should be able to be put out with dropping water on the ground at least. Or a fire extinguisher that's located in most stores. What happens is if an admin isn't on, people start fires online and it lags the entire server badly. It's like if one person is lagging, everyone is gonna lag - regardless if they aren't even by the fire itself, they will feel the lag as if they were nearby it for whatever reason. Misc. things Logged in but I'm not logged in.. How does that happen? It should be a checker to see if they haven't moved/said anything/no interaction with anything then they should be kicked after a certain time for inactivity instead of being denied service. Even after kicking the "ghost" of my friend dark nano, he was still unable to come on because it said he was still on the server. I think if you have a backpack on you, you shouldn't need to drag items to your main inventory, the game should just know what items you have and either just do it automatically or just treat it like an extension of the player, which it is, and cut out the dragging of items so much. These are a few of my ideas, regardless of them all I hope that Project Zomboid thrives to become something amazing as it's one of the best Early Access games I've gotten to read about, see videos of, and play myself for me to see that this is a game with a great community and even amazing devs with passion. I just really want the multiplayer to thrive because I believe people come for the single player, and stay for the multiplayer. I'll make another one of these if more ideas come into my head.

  3. Hello! Thanks a lot for creating such an awesome game! Even though it's still unfinished it's clearly one of the best games I've played so far. That being said, I have some suggestions that I think could improve the game in the future, especally concerning the 'Build' system. I apologise if you've gotten some of these suggestions already. The 'Build' system could use major improvements The problems with the 'build' system as it is now, is; - It's hard to navigate through the list - Most of the time, the screen crops some of the list, so you won't be able to see it all - When building your base from scratch there's not many possibilities regarding funiture, and they usually end up looking a little dull. - Carpentry lvl 5 is basically useless. - It takes little to no time to build a fortress. - Window frames are mostly useless for anything else than sheet ropes. - After a base is built, it just stands there, defenseless, when you're not there to protect it. - Locks on cabinets, doors, etc. isn't a thing. Which is why, I'd like to suggest a few improvements, such as; - The list should be replaced by a full-screen menu (or adjustable size, like the skill window etc.) with different categories. Perhaps some more advanced ones you can unlock with higher carpentry level, and eventually combined with other skills too. A menu would make it easier to navigate, the screen won't crop it, it would be easier to have an overview, and if/when new things are added to 'Build', the game wouldn't end up with a very, very long list that would definitely get cropped. - When in high carpentry level, an 'Info' option could be cool, for seeing how much health your wall has left, like with the plants you farm. - More funiture such as cabinets, potted plants, sofas, candle holders, weapon racks, improvised stoves, heat sources, etc. - Being able to put something in the window frames would be nice. Maybe by using tools to take a window from a house and move it, or in some way craft one. - Building traps to catch/kill zombies and other survivors. There's a spade in-game and using it to do some real digging, like big holes that zombies can fall into, could be cool. Other things that'd work would be; Pointy sticks to place around your base (running into them causes damage), beartraps, some kind of creative trap with rope and a gun (like tripping wire things), more suggestions are welcome. Maybe the more advanced traps could use both carpentry and trapping skill. - Salvageable padlocks, craftable locks, etc. When you're in multiplayer it's really annoying when some person shows up and steals everything from your base when you're not there. Of course it adds a bit of realism, but there's absolutely no way to prevent loss of items. Which is why being able to lock your stuff in would be really nice. An idea for that would be that, locking a thing would spawn a key and you won't be able to unlock certain container without the key in your inventory. To add some realism, a lockpicking skill for that would be cool too. Locks would also be nice when the NPCs come around, assumed they can run off with your things. - Painting the wood. There's not much use for paint in the game, except for painting arrows and skulls, and the option to paint a wall or a piece of funiture could be a fun addition for the more crafty types. - Signs in game are also a little dull. Writing on them could be cool, maybe a little bit like the notes. You right click, a 'write' option shows up below the 'paint' option and you can write on it like you write on a note, but with paint instead. To read it, you could right click and 'read sign'. Signs would be more useful, especially in multiplayer. Other suggestions that could improve the games realism and possibly increase the diffuculty; - Gasoline could be used for generators to temporarily get electricity in a bulding. - Dirty/clean water: All water in the game seems to be drinkable, and having to clean water/get a clean water source would make things a lot more interesting. - A hygiene moodlet could make a use for the soap, toothbrush, toothpaste and towel. Bad hygiene could make the character more prone to diseases. - And with the previous one; More diseases such as pneumonia, sepsis, concussions, flu, etc. - Jackets, coats, raincoats, sandals, shorts, hats, glasses. Also some sort of improvised armor, that could protect from scratches/bites. Improvised armor could be; Duct tape wrapped around wherever you want it (and maybe the option to tape stuff to yourself to protect you), helmets and the like. - Wildlife. I know that would be a pretty huge thing to add to the game, as they'd need AI and stuff, but it could be really cool if you could do some actual hunting for deer and the like. Wolves could be an interesting addition too. - Someone told me it was added to the game already, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it? If it isn't then the option to use bleach and other poisons such as berries and mushrooms to poison food would be an interesting addition, both for multiplayer and when the NPCs come around. - Another fun addition would be if characters can trip and fall over things. Especially when drunk. The decreased aim is one thing, but someone who's completely plastered, go out and kill 50 zombies with a shutgun, without dying or tripping or anything is a little unrealistic. I might add some more in the future, sorry for the large amount of text! I hope it's useful c: I look so much forward to seeing what happens to this game in the future!
  4. I am currently using the early access build version 30.9; I'm a little over one month in on regular survival. While building something on the second floor of my base, I accidently fell and fractured right shin. From what I've looked up and from what I understand, I SHOULD have what I need to make a splint (One ripped sheet, a sturdy stick and/or a tree branch). I currently have 8 ripped sheets, 1 tree branch, 16 sturdy sticks and 1 regular sheet all in my inventory and I am not getting an option to make a splint. Am I doing something wrong?
  5. I know this isn't facey book but like this if you got the Joke in the title Any back to business. I've briefly pointed this out in another STD...I mean SGT and I told you I would make a post about this later on, so enjoy and make some comments about this. (I'm sorry for saying that I will not post a suggestion today but got to excited anyway...) I've been playing this game for far too long with fallout 3 Interactions/animations that my character holds against every little thing he stuffs in his mouth, opens up or basically does. I hate the feel that some creepy ghost is my characters best friend who opens doors for him, eats his food and holds all his stuff, SERIOUSLY. They developers have time to make the character hold weapons but can't even have a backpack on to hold them. I've hated this since morrowind and fallout 3, but at least for fallout 3 had an excuse. I literal pretended that my lone wanderer had shrunk and turned every thing he had into energy which he held inside his pip - boy. I mean come on, the developer's have time to make animations for hoping inside houses and opening windows but don't even have a believable inventory system. Please all you would have to do is make every inventory increased item the same sprite and have it placed on his back like Joel's (the last of us). ive loved this game even without this and would even love it more with this. Don't forget about the food. Even in mine craft (which is a pixalated game) had the time to make eating animations. I would love your character to actually pull out some whiskey and drink it or pull out a soup and scoop it into his mouth. This game has so much potential and so much to fill in that it should be essential to have interactive animations. thanks for reading and hoped you injoyed this post. very small one i know but who gives a dam. this is Tsukune Aono logging out (not literally).
  6. Hello everyone!, So i wanted to know if there will be an option to spawn with NPC (when they will get implemented) family (brother,sister,wife...) or close friends in the same house so you can actually have someone you can trust in the begining. what do you think guys? leave all your thoughts in the comments and thank you for replying
  7. before i get under way i would just like to interduce myself. i am Tsukune Aono and ive been playing this game for quite some time now and love it. but i do have some suggestions to what could enhance this game to be even more productive and awesome. animations ive seen through my gameplay not much but some quirky animations. such as opening windows, how he holds weapons and attacks with them and felt that they could still be there but if their were openings in custimization. such as being able to change how you walk, sneak, hold weapons, open things etc. and could all be listed under styreo type features. such as a light fast guy could have a stance like Aiden Pearce ( watch_dogs) while big jock like characters would walk with grit and a sense to smash somethings head in. i would also like appearance animations to be fixed to such as holding rubbish bags or having camping packs on your back. im just sick of looking at my dull character silliesly walk around like fallout 3 carrying a shit ton of stuff and not actually giving a F about it like he shrunk all of his items and shoved them down his pants. i would love to be able to open up a heads up display like the bodies health one and actually attach a gun to his belt, put some water bottles on the side of his back pack and have sone grenades on his chest while he has a back pack on and having an animation to run with struggle and stumble. (i know i may have added items and things you actually cant do or would change the whole concept of the game but i would make another topic about those so dont worry. Items i would love to have the following items in the game. this may help in gameplay generator location:(rare) basements, hardware stores, survivor bases, camps, some houses Info: generators are used for keeping the electricity and water sources working in a floor (small, medium), or an area space conected to it R: i would love to have a cool little area running electricity even when the lights go out to still feel home and comfertable. it would also make for some survival feel to some requirements: (FYI: requiments are also items i would love to put in the game and will be found under neath) a quarter of oil canaster a day. oil canaster: location: (easily found) basements, attics, hardware stors, houses, back yards, kitchen closets, cars, petrol stations info: oil canasters could be used for a number of things from burning houses down to starting up a generator, or killing yourself. R: to help with the generator system dvds: Location: (easily found) living rooms, bedrooms, dvd stores, shops, mall, info: are either recorded t.v.shows or movies that allow to entertain your character much faster than reading books. R: im a comfy survival sourt of guy and would love to chill back and watch some sitcoms as the world ends. it would be fun as requirments: T.V., electricity working CPs/ laptops Location: bedrooms, lound rooms, dinning rooms, shops, parks info: these allow the user to look up on whats happening in the world from statistics stating the dead and electricity and water runout, check their emails if any playabal or non-playable characters have got news for them and to just get any announcments in the world from scientests etc. R: like i said with dvds this would also be a happy comfy device but would also be important for serious situations requirments: electricity grids time line im just going to get this done fast. time line would be when you get to spawn in the game and the effects it takes on your character. for instance say you make it Z day then it will be when the virus first spread, leading people to panic and drive around and go into shops and steal supplies and cause choas or you could make it twenty years later where the worlds a waste land and the enviroment is saught of like the last of us. thank you for the replies and keep playing PZ
  8. hello guys im Tsukune Aono and here is my idea of the day youtube: Ksic Games Twitter: #KsicGames facebook: Tsukune Aono Twitch: Ksic GAMeZ okay so quick and simple idea today. why don't we make this game compatibly for ios devices and please don't make yourself sound stupid by talking about the frames, computer processing unit and random access memory not being able to handle it. Just tweak some things and the game will run as expected. this will get a lot of consumers quickly seeing that over 500 million people download apps off the app store daily (i'm exaggerating) and it opens the game up to so many people. to be honest the game does feel like an ios game. look what mine craft, terreria and the walking dead did (yes i know the walking dead was a faliure on ios). when mine craft was released on ios around 120% of the mine craft consumers bought it. just imagine PZ for that, and to be honest i would find it kind of fun and cute to be playing it through my 5s. i understand if comments are very defensive to the game. im alright with that so thanks for reading my post and comment away.
  9. okay for today im just going to make a quick one. survival ideas hygiene yes we have this is in the game already but staying cool and cosy isnt what im talking about. i would love to see this game taken to the next step with survival. having to wash you body and clean it with soap, cutting nails so you dont get infections, cutting your hair and shaving your beard when it gets long, brushing your teeth etc. i would love to have control over how my characters hygiene takes place in many times and having serous consequences for not looking after your hygiene. misc stealth yes this idea i copied from the walking dead and yes this IS bad for your hygiene. being able to cut open zombies guts and putting it over you in serious times to make sure zombies dont follow you home. and if applied enough you could pass by zombies without them even noticing you effigies this would also help for zombies not to smell or feel your presence like above but isnt a walk across the street one. making effigies for your house so zombies cant smell that your in there.
  10. 1 - Seeds or seedlings tree: Why not? If you need tree you can grow your OWN TREE!!! 2 - Respawn/spawn trees: One tree grow 1-3 months. 3 - VODKA Rotten food in trash cans, in "Old world" people throwed rotten food! 4 - More trash : Yeah, why not? You eating chips with packaging? 5 - Cans : You can fill water in cans or drinking tea. 6 - Fat or military zombies : Fat zombies : Very slow and more damage, military zombies : Have more health and more damage. 7 - Hospitals : Yeah, in big city we need BIG hospital or hospitals. 8 - Winter : Yep, just winter, in winter zombies walk very slow 9 - Hats : Saves from sunstroke/warming. Дружба и магия PS: Sry my bad language.
  11. Hi guys.I really need help ASAP. I can connect to my server via 127.0.0.1, but I can't connect with my public IP. My friends also can't connect. Please help me! I think It may be a port forwarding issue. On some port checkers it says my ports are open, but on others they're not. Also I tried allowing them through my firewall and I tried opening them, but I don't think it worked.
  12. My suggestion/idea came up when I read the thread bout the new cooking related stuff. And then I thought of fish. Dried and smoked fish exactly. And that is the thing PZ needs! A way of preserving food for a really long time. Dried beef (beef jerky) can last up to one and a half years! Kinda OP, but who cares. No more perishable foods going to waste in the first days of survival!
  13. "When you first launch your server, or if no "admin" account exist, a password for the user 'admin' will be asked in your console." Is it realized now? I am starting server but in console there is nothing about admin rights or password. *sorry wrong txt attached (can't delete it)* console.txt
  14. Our dear creators of Project Zomboid added a new Easter Egg in the game in this new update. (23) is a simple thing, I know if someone has already posted this sorry but I did not think things like that. Watch the video:
  15. Hi everyone! I am 3 days into my PZ world c:. I have lots of supplies, and I plan to scavenge a warehouse soon! So I was wondering what I do when I got to this stage. I have a fridge full of food, and a kitchen draw full of useful tools. I've never really gotten this far before, I just usually get killed by a horde . So yeah, what do I do now? (P.s. The electricity and water is still on and there are little to no zombies around my safe house) Thanks!
  16. So, how was the first weekend on steam? I'd like to know (and no hard numbers, maybe estimates or so) how many people had bought / were playing PZ before and after the steam release... I'm just curious and interested in how the steam start went and how satisfied you are with the way it went so far. I think you guys are doing a great job! Cheers! Ninjaedit: A quick info in the mondoid would do as well... I'm just curious
  17. With water proof jackets we could go out in the rain in it's most horrifying storms and do things like building and just running around, personally I don't think it should not make you wet at all and make you 100% resilient to water, but I think it should reduce the time in that you get wet by about 70%. I don't know tell me what you think.
  18. Phesired

    Fear

Hey there, so I was talking on General discussion and somebody told me that your player over time does not get less scared from the zombies, I believe over time in the zombie apocalypse your survivor should be less scared, still always nervous. There won't be a time where you're not scared to die but more confident after survived for a longer period of time. -Thanks
  19. (For when NPC's + other players are added) This is a long term idea but I posted it anyway, so I asked if NPC's would hide being bitten from you if they are (the answer was yes), this is great if you find out their bitten, and if there was a way to cuff them or tie them up so if they do survive the bite that I hear there's a 2% chance, they can stay alive, and obviously if they don't, their tied up. I like the idea of keeping them tied up until you know if they survived the bite as such. This wouldn't just be for this one common scenario but say if you get NPC's hostage and want information, you could take them captive. This may be a small feature but personally I like little cool features like this, it makes the game what it is. They could be used for so much more as well, post below to create more cool scenarios or, ways they can be used in the game below.
  20. Having horses in the game would be nice because it's not OP because you have to feed it but then the advantage is obviously you travel on it. This has a up side and a down side. I know what the next question is, "how would you find one without making the game unrealistic?" Well, simple, just have built in farms on the map, just a few, and have animals in them like pigs and things and there, if you're lucky, they'll be horses. I wouldn't suggest having lots of grown crops on the farm or this would make the game a bit easy, and I understand you guys don't want that.
  21. So, to be hones, It's not like i have survived for weeks or so but I've had my share of levelled skills. mostly weapons and cooking/crafting skills but I never managed to level one of the agility skills. what would one have to do to level the agility skills? (Sprinting, Nimble, Lightfooted, Sneaking) and for how long would I need to do that? PLUS: Is there a way to increase levelling for other skills than cooking, crafting and farming?
  22. I know that this isnt the first priority here and what not... but I think that special buildings should have special features. The bank and the police station should have better/bigger doors and bars in front of the windows. which woild make those two the imba-safehouse, if only everyone could enter these buildings... Maybe these buildings can either be forced to let you in (i.e. break stuff like windows or doors through high effort and wastage) or you could find the key to these buildings random in a house (where the police chief or the bank manager could have lived)... In the future, just like in the past, I guess that those buildings are great as a fortress and should be guarded by npc or crazypeople ATM most buildings are the same and it doesnt really matter which one you enter, of course some have things others dont (i.e. watercooler) but mostly the differences arent so big, despite the looks. just calling for some diversity and further specializations. In general i'm very happy with knox county and love roaming it, looting stuff and distributing splattered brain onto streets and walls. Really eager to see where PZ is going in the future! You guys are AWESOME!
