I know Project Zomboid is a realistic zombie survival sim. But one thing has bugged me for a while; building times. It takes little time for a player to erect a wall and many other carpentry constructs. Which I don't think is realistic. Just saying.

ID_CONNECTION_ATTEMPT_FAILED in the console of PZ online test, and the GUI of it says "connection failed"> Nothing changes with the server.

I am trying to run a server, my RAM and CPU are sufficient, I have opened ports 16261 to 16265 and I'm using a blank world.db. Yet even when I turn the firewall off, I cannot connect using my external or internal IPv4. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

I have portforwarded, my network name for the ports is right, and I'm using my external IP. Yet neither myself nor friends can connect. I think this may be a problem with the Windows Firewall, as it only allows the actual 64 bit game, not the .bat of the server. I can't add .bat's to the firewall access though. Any solutions, I'm running Windows 8.1.

I just checked the network again, turns out my machine was named incorrectly. It works now EDIT: I think I may have connected through localhost.

ipconfig gave me a different IP address to the one the website gave me, I tried it, but it also failed.

I'm using the ip address I got from http://whatismyipaddress.com/ which I assume is my external one?

I'm connecting to the server through the online beta, my ip is my ipv4 and I am running it on the same machine I am playing it on, but my machine should be able to handle it.

I have opened 16261 to 16265 yet, when I try to connect, I get the ID_CONNECTION_ATTEMPT_FAILED error.

I was using the building editor, and found that when I sometimes select a wall tile, I cannot change from that tile, so I might be stuck with fences or brick walls for the whole house.
