    Agree with Lussian on this one. I see some of his points, but I can see the negative sides to those points as well. Some things just can't be done (yet) because of certain 'bugs' or glitches... like for instance the PvP constantly turned on cause you need to be aware? I was chopping wood, and a friendly was standing behind me, far away... for some weird ass reason, I killed him with my axe. Server sync was corrupt and the server thought he was standing right next / in front of me. Trust me, not fun when that happens, no matter how 'aware' you are. About the communication... I have actually noticed most people DON'T use off-server communication and the global chat to talk to players who are not in your 'group' is very nice and welcome. It brings more fun to the game IMHO. I only have about three players on steam now and about half of the players on server doesn't come on TS. Question Lexy, have you actually PLAYED on the server? For longer than an hour that is... to experience the community, the chatting etc... yeah i have played more than one hour ... im more of an observer tho and keep to myself most of the time @lussian - by no means i want to portray my view as the only truth (even tho it is ) it is merely stated as a suggestion and to stir up some discussion about these changes. i am also aware of certain gamemechanics / bugs making life harder than it is intended to be by the game and that some of my suggestions do not help to lower these problems, but i still think that what i mentioned makes the game more enjoyable and realistic / hardcore (for me at least that is), especially when these bugs / glitches get fixed eventually the all-chat issue i have is that its majorly immersion-breaking if you can hear everyone talking about anything and takes away from actually having to "randomly" run accross someone to "meet" them it's like everyone enters the zombieapocalypse with a magical walkie-talkie that allows them to talk to everyone. turning off allchat (and especially the name tags above players) would make established groups alot more "tight-knitted" imho ... and make it alot more interesting when people / groups meet each other for the first time (or interact inbetween each other in any way for that matter) i know that my suggestions got negative aspects aswell, but i honestly think that the positive ones outweight these i dont want to enforce my views on this server, but i truly wish for a server that is hardcore and realistic at the same time (and being EU based ), and i think this server with its community could be this one, thats why im stating my suggestions / views, so we can talk about it and find a common ground that is acceptable (and most importantly) enjoyable for all of us

I dont like that people run around shooting and melee bashing like crazy without any form of awareness of their suroundings ... if you actually can kill your buddy because PvP is forced on, that enforces alot more strategic positioning etc ... and if you are not capable of that you will soon run out of people willing to group up with you ... and additionaly, if you run across somebody (imho) you should not know his intentions without having a proper engagement with that player ... it adds alot more depth to behaviour inbetween players which inevitably leads to ... 4. turning off names goes side to side with turning off global chat ... if you run into someone in the open world you are (again, imho) not supposed to know who he is until you had a proper engagement ... you have to recognize the looks of somebody ... like you do in reallife and chat (the normal "close-range" chat) is in different colors for each person ... so it shouldnt be too hard to distinguish who is talking as soon as you know which color belongs to which person (imagine it as how his voice sounds like) and these changes wont affect friends playing together in any way (if they use other "out of the game" communication methods, be it steam-chat, ts, vent, mumble, whatever ... which most do afaik) Edit: the world chat thingy i actually hope that TIS implements an MP-feature that blocks you from all-chat unless you have found some sort of radio-walkitalkie-device ... but my hopes on that is really slim since i know that the majority of the player-base probably doesnt want such a thing

    as a suggestion ... up the number of zombies and give them 1 to 2 weak spots (like put something on "Poor" ... id suggest either vision or hearing and maybe give them lower memory ... dunno, everything else on max ofc) makes it alot more strategical when you have to work around hordes (and thus adds immersion) i personally would also love to see safety mode off enforced on everybody and disabling usernames (above the head) and all-chat, but i can understand if other dont like that apart from that i really like the server so far except fresh spawnings inside a horde and you get eaten immediately without even a chance to do anything i dont know if its possible but if you can manually set spawnpoints on the map into a (single) house (respectively in muld and wp both) and then leave it up to the community to kinda keep those spawnzones zombie / griefer free that would help a long way with this problem

If i had to bail right now with like 5-10 mins to grab my stuff and get into the basement before i leave Edit: the Flak Jacket is to symbolize my motorcycle jacket tho XD i consider the roll under my backpack to be my sleepingbag could grab some more stuff aswell but would actually leave it behind i guess like a tent (a big one ... really heavy) a huge-ass toolkit box (heavy as shit) etc on a side note ... i only show two packs of cigarettes ... but please imagine that its smth ~20 packs
  7. yeah ... bedford falls looks great ... i mean the buildings etc but the layout sucks way too many indestructible walls and fences imho building a (super strong) safehouse in bedford falls is easy as shit not balanced at all ... but yeah it looks great

  9. i really like these 2 (the food market+the roof next to it and the 3 story office building) http://pzmap.crash-override.net/#0.813300471435839,0.1441010852631171,168.82208228948033 find a sledge ... destroy the stairs and use sheetropes to get in and out use the balcony of the 3 story and/or the roof next to the foodmarket as farming area (get empty sandbags and a shovel - fill them with dirt and drop it on the roof/balcony) i also connect the foodmarket and the office building with a walkway at the windows the only thing that you need to haul there and thus can get a bit dangerous is logs/planks when i go on looting runs that dont allow me to get back to my base to sleep/eat i'll just take some food with me and sleep in random houses that i sheet-curtain / board up if necessary Edit: you can destroy doors in the city for easily gaining some planks / hinges / doorknobs and you actually dont need to build too much of a defense with carpentry to be able to defend a safehouse that is two-story or higher when you just destroy the stairs the only important thing is to get carpentry high enough so you are able to build rain collector barrels plus i like to wall up the roof aswell (so i dont jump off accidentaly and it looks better) and you can connect the house next to the roof aswell (the yellow one) if you want to my long term plan tho is to connect the whole downtown area of west point with walkways to each other so i can traverse the city without ever having to go down on the streets Edit2: a second plan of mine is to build the highest tower possible at the cabin in the western woods http://pzmap.crash-override.net/#0.5085586942627126,0.1277597325036178,97.69796428789371
  10. just remember to give corpses smth like a "rotting timer" ... make it so that it takes ~3 days maybe (dunno ... balance it around etc) until the dead body enters a stage in which he will cause illness to "livestock" in the area around him and with livestock i mean players, plants and animals (cuz i want to be able to have the feature to domesticate later on aswell :cool: )
  11. its not about taking cover from zeds ... and its not "only" related to multiplayer aswell singleplayer NPC's with guns ... i very much appreciate a cover system for gunfights ... be it vs other players or NPC's
  12. i very much enjoy the prospect of heightmaps but first and foremost "multi-lvl line of sight" has to be properly implemented not being able to see a horde on the street when you chill out on the balcony ... is ... to say the least ... meh! same goes for not being able to shoot at them

    on a sidenote .... the spin-a-roodle thingy is over now ... the latest build increased your time to turn around and imho the new turning-speed is actually set pretty good i have to agree to what Dryke said.
  14. you can still run through zombies ... but if you "stay" a little too long too close to one of them he will grab onto you and slow you down ... and as soon as youre slowed, and theres more than 2 zombies around you, you are basically dead. i actually find maneuvering around zombies pretty easy ... i tend to kite zombies around, screaming "Hey!" while i do it and get them into one big bulk ... then shoot them with the shotty so i can get maximum kills out of one shell. and when i finally run out of shells i kite this big ass horde over to some other players safe house and just sneak away into corners / trees Edit: yeah falling down stairs and stuff like that is what msot of the time is killing me xD especially that one office building with the outdoor firestairs ... when i turn to close on of the doors and i dont angle right my char will climb over the fence and just drop down 2 levels -.-
