  1. 1 year and 5-7 months I believe, in a very old build before the new graphics came into it. I didn't actually die, just a new update ruined my savegame
  2. I do recall Lemmy talking about an idea he had for crossing over to other servers via in-game (not server hopping via lobby). If this became a reality, I wouldn't mind being a traveling trader of sorts. Loaded up with prime loot to trade away! Although obviously that would make me a serious juicy target so some protection would be required... Thankfully I have a full clan of potential people willing to try this game out for its multiplayer component alone, so yeah
  3. Number 1 thing that will kill you off easily in this game is boredom. Not boredom in the game but the player becoming tireless and impatient. You'll end up taking more risks and eventually get to the point that your running around the place like a madman without a care in the world. Its the psychological effect of repeating a playthrough combined with frustration. Gotta maintain patience throughout your playthroughs and keep the risks to a minimum.
  4. Yeah, it really shows how poorly written the show is when the pilot episode starts with Daryl walking through the canteen and everyone going, "Hey Dayrl! Can I have your autograph?" , "emm.. err, escuse me sir, but I would like to shake your hand".. It shows that the writers have given into the internet fandom that is the rather simplistic character of Daryl and portraying that in the show. Really bad writing at play. It's such a shame Frank Darabont left the show, season 1 was quality. After that it all went downhill because a certain AMC executive just didn't get along with Frank.
  5. It's also important to differentiate griefing from players who just want to be utter complete bastards. The kind that are rping to survive at whatever cost, even if it means indiscriminate killing and stealing your stuff. Thing is you don't really know why their doing it; there could be legit reasons behind it and there could be just lots of lollies.
  6. Wasn't aware you had statistics available that stated everyone was playing sandbox..
  7. Exactly how I feel regarding 3. When I played New Vegas, soon as I stepped out I'm greeted by a cowboy robot with an accent that made me just want to piss on its circuits. For me, it ruined the atmosphere. I just didn't 'dig it' as others have. New Vegas certainly had the better quests and general story. It had more of everything although all in a more condensed landscape. As Ringo says, its the atmosphere. I felt Fallout 3 had an overall better apocalyptic atmosphere than New Vegas did. I still play Fallout 3 now and again and its been awhile since I did a quest since I have most of them done, but I still get great enjoyment out of it because I feel immersed in its setting. WIth New Vegas, I couldn't get that same feeling.
  8. Same. Know quite a large pool of people who've played Skyrim/Fallout 3 and they always mod their games. I myself modded Skyrim about 2-3 weeks after launch. I was going to protest strongly against this but then I realized this would be a good thing, as long as they didn't develop it. I really don't want another Fallout New Vegas.
  9. It would also ruin 64 bit support, wouldn't it? I believe Unity has serious issues with 64 bit support so that would simply throw that out of the window.
  10. *bans everyone* Forums over there sure are lovely
  11. I beg to differ, it is relatively easy to fuck things up for people in this game Hence why it will be less of an issue. These things tend to work in opposites. Could be wrong, but I'm hoping that the harshness of death will deter all but the most hardened of trolls away.
  12. Trolls won't be bothering me since I'll be solely playing it co-op with people I know. But you will get trolls regardless and the sad thing about that is death is final in Zomboid so getting griefed will have a much bigger impact than it would in the likes of say DayZ. Although I do reckon it will be a lot less of an issue than it is in other games.
  13. Bit expensive at the moment for me to get involved, think this will be one of those *wait till its finished* games for me.
  14. See, I'm against this. I think wounds and that should be hidden under clothing. I think a tell tale sign would be perhaps blood on the clothes, or some kind of tooltip when you hover over an npc/player and it might say (depending on some skill) 'You notice what looks like some kind of mark, but can't tell because its obscured by the clothing. Perhaps its nothing.' As long as its not gamey and doesn't provide the player all the information on hand because I would rather alternative options in finding out about someone being infected rather than just looking at the npc character and going, "Yep! He's infected. Say hello to my 12 gauge!" I want to have situations in which when I'm playing either with npcs or players (namely players) and one of us is infected, what fun is it if we can just instantly tell if one of us is infected? No fun at all! There's no risk at all then, and Zomboid is all about risk.. If I want to hide my bite mark from someone I should be able to do it in a balanced and fair way without any gamey systems that tells someone that I'm infected without putting much effort into trying to find out.
  15. Ah, a fellow Unreal World player, welcome..
  16. Didn't even play it; knew it was bad news from just looking at the amount of classes they got. It had shallow gameplay written all over it.
  17. Have you played the Arma 2 campaign? It's pretty.... awful. Apart from the occasional sandboxy mission which were alright it was an awful mess of a thing. Out of place music, awful voice acting as well as pretty poor AI. The only reason Arma 2 became so popular before was the niche it was in along with the Modding community and the ability to create epic battles in minutes. Then DayZ came along and brought more people into the fold. What I think is more deserving to be pissed off at is the content. I'm aware that they wanted to place it in the "near future" but frankly. Screw that. The lack of weapons plus the similarity between just about all the BLUFOR main weapons (I mean seriously what's up with that?) and the lack of vehicles pisses me off to no end. I want my M16 and M14. MP5 and M21. I don't care for the new stuff. I might like it more, if there was more of it, but there isn't. At a first glance it can be incredibly tough to actually tell what the difference between the weapons actually are. Yep, I agree. But I must stress that the ArmA 2 campaign, while not brilliant, had co-op and the first mission alone was far more interesting than what the first campaign episode threw out. I also feel that we will be getting less content wise with the campaign than previous installments. This is just another nail in the coffin for the ArmA franchise. As I ranted about before, the creative design and the lack of any sort of meaningful assets on full release is hugely disappointing.
  18. I think the negative effect as a result of bad early access releases in the past may have further sidelined certain consumers who once might have been tempted to buy such a game. If I can be persuaded never to pre-order a game anymore I'm sure there's others who feel the same about early access. I do foresee Zomboid doing very well on full release to the disbelief of many. I just hope TIS is ready to handle all that extra load... ehem. As for people demanding trading cards/achievements before they buy the game? ErR?!??! Chances are they've probably already indulged, found out about no achievements and cards and are simply sulking as a result.
  19. I'm only interested with co-op multiplayer with a few friends, who've also stated a lack of desire to play with other people other than friends. Blame DayZ.
  20. Don't like any of the characters, their all equally bad in some way. Not one of them has a single ounce of common sense between them. Shane did make some good calls although these were setback by his psychotic tendencies which didn't take long to surface (season 1, not far in he is already pointing a shotgun at Ricks back in secret). Rick makes all the wrong calls. Michonne and her pouty face. Daryl and his simplistic nature and no character depth. *Although he's still a decent character* The only ones I can honestly say I like are Carol and Hershel. Although in Carols case; Spoiler! -
  21. It's cancelled?!? First I heard of it, but no real surprise there though.
  22. People get banned now for having technical problems?
  23. I'll hoard as much npcs as I can like cattle... Then, I shall go forth onto another persistent server with my army of gun-toting loolah's and reign forevermore! Kill my pretties, KILLLL!!!!
  24. Nope. As I said before in my other thread about this, I tried doing exactly that. What happened as a result was that I got denied access to my Youtube channel soon as I unlinked them and deleted G+. All my videos are gone, can't access it again unless I decide to sign up for G+.
