unsaved_progress reacted to Deraz in Does anyone actually play Westpoint?
Rick, you have no idea what you are missing! Granted, WP is not suggested for beginners but, i assure you, it makes for a much more intense zomboid experience! I highly suggest you try it out!

I find Westpoint much more fun than Muldraugh, so I really don't know what you're on about. Has many more differently different buildings (rather than similar but not-quite-the-same buildings).

Dirty dishes after use with food. Untensills are a MUST use, perhaps say, eating without a fork/spoon happiness is lowered a fair chunk due to eating with hands (pretty much just saying you become sad because you are so desperate for food you have to eat with yo' hands) and in order to clean them maybe fill a sink (provided water is still functional) or a bucket of water, either way:
(Dirty item(s) + 1 Unit of water + dish cloth + bleach = Clean item) :3

would love to see you try to handle dual shotguns with a horde closing in, would be most interesting.

Welcome to the Forum
There already is a big thread about traits and professions. Maybe you take a look in there and give these 2 cents to the right place.
Please also read the Commonly suggested suggestions thread on top of the suggestion forum.
it helps keeping the forum organized

unsaved_progress reacted to thiosk in Longest you've ever survived?
In my current game, I'm 4 months, 10 days, and 6 hours. I AM using a food canning mod. I highly reccomend that mod, its a really nicely done addition that enables conversion of produce to nonperishables. However, I have like 6 bags of vanilla nonperishable food stockpiled.
Anyhoo, I'm up to 3265 zeds killed. This began as my attempt at doing a peaceful game where I killed minimal zombies. However, I was bitten, and survived, and then scratched, and survived, so I'm not messing around anymore. I'm turning muldraugh into a frigging park.
Edit: Fell off a roof while making mudraugh into a friggin' park.

Being able to save scum will never be a part of vanilla Project Zomboid. Sorry mate, it's just not that kind of game.

unsaved_progress reacted to GoldenBullet in Auto Save, please...
Well accidentally slipping out a window is a valid death so lulz xD. Also saving would you know...kinda ruin the point of the entire game. I mean i can't think of any good survival games that actually incorporate saving besides on exit.

Are you sure it was accidental, and your character just saw an opportunity to jump... ending his miserable existence in the apocalypse?

unsaved_progress reacted to EnigmaGrey in "Member Titles" - How do i change mine ?
As I haven't been able to come up with a title for you for the past two weeks, and this is sufficiently "unique," and perhaps fitting with your username, it is done.
Requests may not be meant in the future, though. This isn't directed at anyone specific, but it's meant to be seen more as a "reward" for dedicated members of the forum -- this includes those who made it through the initial transition to the new forum software -- than simply a customizable field.
Ambiguity at its finest.

unsaved_progress reacted to TheCenturion in "Member Titles" - How do i change mine ?
Well, you bow down to Enigma, accepting him as Lord Ruler Guy of Everything and Everyone Excluding Lemmy. If he is in a good mood, he'll change your title. To something he wants.
If he's in a bad mood... well... you end up like me.

unsaved_progress got a reaction from Rikashey in New skill: Survivor
Is one hour between posts really a bump CG?
But yeah, I like this idea, don't think it has to be hidden, I like the non-XP scaling version, where its visible, you can see it, but it can't be upped with skill points or XP, it just drip feeds at 5 points everyday.
Great idea! Although don't let OP hear me say that, I think he thinks he's the only member of the community with great ideas...

unsaved_progress reacted to Rikashey in New skill: Survivor
Basically, the Survivor skill is on the skill list along with carpentry, cooking, sprinting, etc.
Exp that goes toward the Survivor skill comes from the amount of days that you've survived.
Ex. 1 day = 5 exp
What the skill does is increases your tolerance to Panic, slightly decreases your base Hunger and Water needs.
The reasoning behind this skill is that as days, months, and years go by a person has survived long enough that he/she will have gotten use to the apocalyptic world around them. The person has seen everything, to the point were what used to be scary isn't. He/she has killed hundreds of zombies and isn't as terrified by them anymore (in time). His/her body has also slightly adapted to the shortage of food and water. Similar to how the human body goes into survival mode if it isn't getting proper nourishment. The person no longer eats normally due to having a limited supply of food and water. I was also thinking that the amount of Sleep required should be slightly decreased also.
If someone has survived in the apocalypse he/she is going to be a much different person mentally and physically. Currently, your character can survive for years and take on everything that the apocalypse has thrown at them but the only difference between you and Joe Newbie is that you can make one hell of a chair or table.
The world has changed and his/her mind and body should adapt to it in time.

unsaved_progress reacted to Jago in Bows and Arrows
The chance to hit the head of a zombie with a bow are pretty slim for average Joe. I tried it out myself once, trying to hit balloons from a distance of 20m. Without a lot of practice most shots will miss, so bows shouldn't be very effective against undead imho unless you train your survivor intensively. Crossbows might be a better choice.
(Hey, what do you think about crafting targets for training with bow and crossbow?!)
But bows should still be available of course, for hunting and for fighting NPCs. Your human enemies will fear nothing more than taking an arrow to the knee during the zombie apocalypse.

unsaved_progress reacted to Rathlord in Bows and Arrows
Ehh, bone doesn't really rot. The marrow goes away eventually and it loses some flexibility, but bone stays strong long enough that it wouldn't make much difference. That's one of the things that has always really disgusted me about TWD zombies with their flapjack skulls.

unsaved_progress reacted to Kajin in Relativities with TLS Union City
I just got an amusing mental image of cutting down a tree and watching it fall on an incoming zed. But yeah, there would be certain risks towards using a chainsaw not the least of which being it'd attract a lot of zeds to the area. But if you're in a relatively remote location it should be fine to an extent. Might increase local zed density for a little while if you're fairly out of the way.
But yeah, the vast majority of areas with a large enough number of trees to make full use of a chainsaw would be relatively out of the way. Enough so that I might not worry about it too much. You'll still draw in a lot of zeds, but not the unmanageable amounts you'd get if you did it within town or city limits.
