  1. Get me out of here, already.

  2. I never wanted them to be overpowered. I want them to be useful. Balanced with melee, in terms of use, but for different situations. It's a no-brainer that guns breed more zombies, but there have to be ways to temporarily offset this, or have something else to shoot besides the undead. Animals, bandits, enemy factions.
  3. Sniping zombies with a silencer from your apartment would be nice.
  4. I'll agree to disagree with some of your points. I just feel like they lack purpose, or are not as applicable. It's common sense that shooting can be difficult, but at a close distance with a human-sized target? Unless you're convulsing like mad, it's just pointing and pulling the trigger. Add some distance, and it becomes a lot more difficult. That's where skill comes in; anyone can pick up a gun and shoot something big in front of them.. but can they do that again, when they're forty yards away? The thing about zombies, is that once they've bunched up in front of you, and all you have is a gun, you had better leg it. No matter how many times you pull the trigger, someone inexperienced and nerved up like insane is not going to headshot them all. I'm not disputing that, but to say that shooting is super hard unconditionally is bogus. I've fired weapons before. I'm not great, but I'm confident I can hit something without standing still and taking forever to aim at anything within ten feet of me. The thing about zombie apocalypses though, is that standing in front of them and shooting them is a bad idea. You want to have some distance, and that's what separates common people from marksmen, in my opinion. I also like to think that someone who's in their mid twenties would have fired a gun before in their life, at some point.. or at least be given the option of a trait that helps it slightly.
  5. Less blood doesn't make the game more realistic, to me; I still want some! I might also be saying this because, after killing one zombie, and there's this ridiculous amount of blood.. you can never clean it up. It's there, forever. I know this will probably change in the future, but it drying up soon after it is spilled, or much later on would be nice. A corpse outside in a bloodstain is exposed to the elements, after all.
  6. What, really? Window cuts have never been life-threatening to me.. nowadays though, you need tweezers, disinfectant, and a bandage.
  7. I'm starting to think that zombies bleed way too much. After killing just a couple close together, it looks like there should be one or two more corpses laying with them, given how much blood is there. Depending on the length of the fight, there can be a large amount of blood for just one zombie. Is it this just me?
  8. I think we can all agree that if you aim at center mass, with a handgun, even ten feet away if you aim straight at the torso.. you're going to hit some part of what you're aiming at. It's not hard at that range, especially with something as big as a human/zombified human. We're normally over five feet tall, and pretty wide, so.. 9. Again, like I said, you can add everything but the cars. Cars aren't the main suggestion, just wreckage, wear, and corpses.
  10. I don't think so, about the bit of sniping positions. Sitting in a chair, and balancing your gun on the window's edge could be cool, though. More importantly, the problem I might be having is that it's so imbalanced, that guns are only really useful in one or two situations. Guns got the shit end of the stick recently, so nobody wants to ever use them. The axe can do everything the shotgun can do, not as fast, but for far, far longer. Why snipe when you can run over to to the stragglers and chop them up? Why use the pistol on the small horde, when you can kite them, again, with an axe? Why waste bullets, when they're so precious and rare? Just use your axe! You can fix it with SCOTCH TAPE for crying out loud. Face it. Firearms got nerfed too hard. And then to top if off, melee recently got buffed so that you can use it even more. Making all these weapons more obsolete. It feels to me like no matter what weapons they have; assault rifles, riot shotguns, magnums.. why bother? Just use an axe.
  11. This made some amazing imagery pop into my head. Okay, imagine this. You have a rifle, scoped and with a silencer. The silencer will eventually wear out, but you have spares.. and on the top floor of your house, you're sniping zombies separated from the others through an open window, decreasing the population assassin/hunter style. Rifles in particular just sound like the right kind of weapon for a zombie apocalypse, just choke off all that noise and you're straight. Ammunition for it can be a rare treat, but not impossible to find.. and when you do, it's in a small, but fair quantity. You might find a little amount, but executing ten or twelve zombies without causing a ruckus, every other week, can be a practical past-time.
  12. BEFORE RESPONDING, READ THIS BEFORE POSTING. Currently, firearms are really dangerous to fight with and are not very useful compared to melee weapons. Guns are not practical in-game; they're loud, difficult to reload, and ammunition is scarce. They're also very rare to find modifications for that make them more manageable. The only pros I can think of for using these weapons, is their raw power and ranged attacks. They also do not require any exertion of energy to use. On the other side of the spectrum, melee weapons are more quiet, easier to repair and maintain but at the cost of eating up energy. So what's the problem here? In my opinion, guns are too much trouble to even want to use despite the satisfaction. Everyone is going to use melee, and ignore the guns unless they have extremely rare/hard to access modifications. The result is a lopsided sort of balance here. Everyone uses melee, and guns are for people who want to get killed, usually. I wish there was some other way to do this, but I don't know what exactly to suggest, other than fixing this somehow. What do you all think?
  13. Well, that's all probably true.. but where the game is now, adding all these things prior to getting running cars in wouldn't exactly hurt anything. It's bringing the game up to speed, bit by bit, until it's fully functioning. Adding cars in, and then decorations everywhere might take up more time to do than the other way. But that doesn't exactly make it the better choice. I would be pleased either way. Uninhabited buildings falling apart, corpses, and already-broken windows could technically be done now, without the totaled vehicles. As it stands, though, this is just an innocent suggestion. Not a "do this, do that!" So I'm happy just with getting feedback on it, and if the devs tell me their opinions I'm satisfied.
  14. I think it should be easier to get hurt. Climbing a hundred times through a broken window with jagged glass? You should get scratched like, thirty times! Or more! It's dangerous. Lemmy said that they won't raise the number before we have a way of cleaning the window. And it makes sense. We should have a counter measure for this and I do think the number will be raised once we do. Agreed, actually.
  15. Might be great for people who are picky about eating bugs, or fish.

  17. Read my first, original post, please! That's exactly what I asked for, and I explained everything there. This made me giggle. WONDERFULLY IRONIC, ISN'T IT OLD CHAP? YOU SAY IT'S EASY TO MISS? POPPYCOCK. *EDIT --------- I added big, bold text to the very first post to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
  18. There's no way. This has to be a bug, then. It makes the water and power not shut off as soon, last I checked. I am tempted to go make two separate characters right now and find this out myself. I'm pretty sure it also does things with fishing, and foraging. But, seriously, I never get cut by windows or set off alarms. Really stressin' that, and I break into buildings, hop through broken windows all the time.
  19. It's not something hard to add, really! Inexpensive and simple. It could be added eventually pretty quick, I bet. Multiple types of windows from multiple directions, potentially necessitating hard-coding into the game, and the Lua functionality . . . neh. Somewhat above simple. Nothing is ever as simple as it should be . . . If only there were a waaay..
  20. As it stands, I never get cut when climbing through a jagged, broken window. I never trip alarms. These are important features and they make the game that much closer to being a simulation; with this trait, they shut those features down. And I do mean NEVER! These should be something based on random chance, percentage. Not, "if you're lucky, you never get hurt by climbing through broken windows or trip alarms." It's something that makes no sense to not have, given it's so efficient. It's something so strong, and yet rated so cheap.. I think it needs balanced.

  22. Goody! Now to wait until a developer notices, reads the first post, and voices their opinion. Yes. menacingly wrenches hands
  23. The more it's discussed, the more motivated we will all be in getting this in the game, though. It's exciting.
