Well... The different settings would certainly have drastic effects on game play. If zeds eat all meat, they'll hunt animals and reduce their numbers significantly, making hunting more difficult. If they eat all types of food, they'll hunt animals AND eat foods you can forage, meaning that finding food in general is even more difficult.

It could also cause different effects on distribution of zeds as they start spreading out into the woods and other surrounding areas to eat whatever they come across they consider food.

Back when my line of work was a lot more journalist-y I’d do a lot of interviews with Executive Producers, Senior Marketing Vice Presidents and all other manner of other glorified mouth-pieces for the big publishers. Whenever they brought out the old “of course, we’re doing this for the community – they’re who matter!” line I’d start to roll my eyes. I wouldn’t stop rolling them until I’d asked my killer ‘DLC plans?’ question.

I don’t want to be like that guy – the guy who talks about the value of a game’s community without once visiting it, and praises it as a part of some bullshit boardroom checklist.

Without Project Zomboid’s community (without you - the person reading this – whether you’re a lurker or a regular) times could’ve been so much darker. We owe you a ‘thank you’ so massive it’s almost impossible to deliver. Your testing, your enthusiasm, your friendship, your shared passion for the game… it means more than I can convey in a simple forum post.

I’m not going to whitewash the bad stuff. Two years ago TIS self-inflicted some wounds from which it took an age to recover and gave ruffians ample room to play, and I know that the fabled ‘winter of no content’ was tough on us all. (I don’t think we ever answered the question of what constitutes a ‘white knight’ and what constitutes a ‘troll’, but we certainly seemed to get closer to the answer than most…)

So, before the Steam Early Access launch potentially stirs things up, I wanted to say thank you. To our moderators, to our regulars, to our lurkers, to our critics, to our fans, to those who dip in and out… everyone. Thanks for giving a shit about our zombie game.

Speaking on behalf of all of the Indie Stone, all of our contributors and anyone else who’ve found themselves strapped onto this rollercoaster for the past couple of years – it wouldn’t have been the same without you, and it’s entirely possible that it couldn’t have happened at all.

We’re really appreciative, and we’ll always do our best to do right by you – however we can.

You started this. You incubated the PZ infection.  You'll forever have our thanks.

    LOVE Y'ALL

I don't even care if I can drive them, I just want them parked all over and crashed all over and have some possible car alarms going off. Maybe turn up a car radio and run.

Absurdly ridiculous argument, apparently assuming all cars are comical little toys that are all made out of plastic and bounce around and act exactly as they do in GTA. I have to wonder if you have ever seen a real car after this post.

You (OP) seem to think that cars would be like in gta where you just ram through every object and get a little smoke out of the vehicle... That's not how cars work. And that's also not how car accidents work. If you drive over a 80kg man even at 50km/h he's going to come ramming through your windshield and most likely make a mush of your bones. Not to talk about what would happen if you'd hit a tree or a horde of zombies... So no. You're not going to use the car to "run zombies over and crap". A car is not meant to cause accidents. It is meant to avoid accidents.

I once had a car hit the side of my truck. I was going 50 km/h and he accelerated from stop to about 20km/h. The car literally flew at least 4 meters to the direction I was heading and landed on a snow bench in an about 30o angle. Lucky for the guy his car only got hit on the passangers side so he survived without a scratch, but if he would have had a passenger that person would have probably died. Even then, the man was so shocked he could barely speak.

when you consider that it already takes over 20 actual minutes to get from muldraugh - west point (sprinting all the way) and how much bigger the map is supposed to become, yes i think vehicles are a necessity. I sincerely doubt a sport bike is a more viable option considering it has no storage space and is much more dangerous to operate than a car.

Don't expect any of the vehicles being usable when first introduced into the game, but they will add the feel of loneliness and tragedy that happened to that place. As for communication - I'd prefer the car over push bike or motorcycle, because you can fit a lot of the staff inside and not really be worried about zombie grabbing you when passing by.

And also it doesn't mean how much you'll try to ridicule it or compare to some other less interesting titles (like the video you've linked), it's still going to happen. Just deal with it.

There should be a variety of fast, normal, slow, strong, weak zombies.

It only makes sence. Some zombies have less serious injuries than others. Some have broken legs. Some are badly decayed and weaked or slowed.Things like that. Why should all zombies be the same?

A zombie that died at the start of the infection and is badly decayed shouldn't be as strong and agile as a zombie that died recently.

Don't even try to call a variety of zombies "special infected" because it isn't. They don't have special powers or something.

    It's a realistic variety.

For the raging zombie suggestion I doubt that'll be added, as the devs have said no to special zombie types. The idea of "smarter" zombies is interesting, though I would feel cheated if I've barricaded up my safehouse for one zed to come up and open the door and let his friends in.

I have been working on this to learn how to use the editor, so later I can make a town or some thing.

I finaly Finished all of it made the buildings look as good as posible and finished the landscaping made it look as relistic as posible. I spent a few hours making the buildings for a drive in theater. When finished this is going to be for last stand mode.

    Added interior pictures.

    screens

projector buildings had to ad some more to make it more realistic.

    Biggest projector room
    Medium projector
    Small Projector

Snack bars  the white one is empty
    Spiffo's at the drive in
The ticket booth both sides are the same.
Bathroom because you may crap your pants during the move

A picture of the entrance.  I changed it sort of.

Added two secret locations on the map one is really obvious the other is sort of hard to find.

Here is a place holder for the projectors, need to get a beter one later.

This wont be as good as other maps that are comming out, but hopefully some people will like it.

Things that I still need to do.
figure out how to make tiles so i can make the projectors and the sign at the entrance

Nomadic. Different than most people barricading themselves up in a house. Could work.
    2.
I agree that sleeping bags would be better than tents indoors, but I'm not sure if the devs are going to make sleeping bags as tents serve sort of the same purpose, just look different.

I think that a pickaxe would make a pretty sweet weapon, and could used for some sort of excavation / terraforming (we'll have to wait until 3D terrain for that I'd think). And yeah, I don't think a pickaxe in any school in the US for student use would be legal (maybe somewhere really loose on the rules, but nowhere that I've seen personally).

    Hello PZ community!
Have enough with those nasty fire that burn down everything just because we forget to turn off ovens? That's why we need this "weapon"...

    Fire extinguisher

A common fire protection device that can be found in stores, schools and hotels. Pretty useful in wipping out fire......and zombies!
This weapon have two states: full and empty.

    Fire extinguisher (full)
Once equipped as primary, we can just aim it like a gun, click and hold to discharge agents. The content left will be shown as it's durability. The agents released can, of course, putting out fire or create smog to block enemys' vision when you're in trouble. However, it will make some noise, deals no damage and can't be refilled.

    Fire extinguisher (empty)
Once depleted, the empty vessel can be swang like a blunt weapon. We can either smash zombie skulls or ram the doors open just like a sledgehammer. It does have limit durability and short reach though.
(Noted that we can't swing an extinguisher without depleting it. Part of it because it's hard to code and part of it because in real life, we may mess up the formula inside and cause it explode...)

I think if it rains, the outdoor blood should be washed away.

I know the devs plan on adding the feature to move corpses and wash away blood with bleach, but mother nature would do a pretty good job of washing away the blood outside naturally.

I also think this would spice up the survival game a bit. I can tell if a zombie is a crawler if there isn't any blood around it (that and it disappears from my view when I rotate. Corpses do not. This btw is another thing that I feel needs to be changed/debugged). I wouldn't immediately know if a corpse was a crawler or just a corpse. I would have to tread more carefully in areas that I have already cleared. In that regard it would make taking the time to move corpses more meaningful other than aesthetics.

    Just an idea.

Maybe you misunderstand being racist - your actually doing the opposite by asking for more race types; racism itself is exclusionary in practice.

All the same, and I do not mean to suggest your idea is bad quite the opposite; but art assets are just that - assets. They exist only to assist you in determining only the barest of details; For example, you cannot see if your character has scars or tattoos nor can you tell if your character has a permanent scowl and a cleft chin that sticks out further than your big bulbous nose. The details are for you to make up, or not, as you prefer. It was actually touched on by the developers that it was intentional not to have a lot of detail on your character. (When they were talking about the new "safety" system as a precursor to violence, you can't see the hostility coming because of lack of detail to character's faces)

Edit; I'd like to add I wouldn't mind seeing different body shapes as well as different tones; but I would not want to distract from other features.
