  2. How informative! A good read. Enjoyed it. Thanks for writing it. why thank you. I was in a hurry so some of my grammar is incorrect. I'll try to edit as much of it as I can. I also added a lot more
  3. My country is IRELAND! Population total 4 million 4,000 The capital, Dublin hold 1 million 200,000 ( 1 million 800,000 if you include the outer suburbs.) then comes Belfast with 480,000 which I'm including because its on the same landmass. Limerick has around 90,000 and other towns have average of 20,000 people. there are also a lot of rural population centres with anywhere from 300- 2,000 people. The capital along with Belfast is on the east coast. Cork to the south and limerick to the west. The west and south west have a very low (and declining) population as there is no work or fertile land or population centres in this area. Most people work for big companies in the cities. Much of the youth emigrate to places like Canada, Australia, the U.k and the U.S for work. People in low pop. density areas also migrate to the cities in search for work. You are never more than two miles from a person no matter where you are in the country. The county, by worldwide standard has four mountains and a lot of 500 meter hills. Just south of the capital is the Dublin-Wicklow mountains. These are a popular tourist site but hold a very low population. The west, north, south and lower east are all rugged, hilly and mountainous terrain. The only fertile land is surrounding the cities (mostly Dublin) and in the centre. The most forested county is Wicklow which is just below the capital. Although 200 years ago 90 percent of all land was forest and those forest contained things such as Irish boars and a few thousand years ago bears as well. But just like those forests much of the wildlife has vanished due to over logging by Normans and English invaders. Currently the most dangerous wild animal is a fox and the largest a deer. The country is vastly connected with motorways (Highways) stretching to every corner of the land. the capital city has a C-shaped ring motorway around the north-eastern, northern, western and southern sides of the capital city. The capital city also has a underground tunnel called the port tunnel which connects a part of the city to the port and can shorten a journey by up to 30 minutes. Every town has phone and internet and all of the 1st world stuff . Talks are also in for a metro in the capital. Many people have tools and some people have guns. To have a gun you have to be a) a farmer b) in the army c) a gang member (obviously they don't obtain it thorough legal procedures) d) a member of a gun club. Much of the native sports contain thing that could be easily be use to kill zombies. Like a hurley stick: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hurling_Ball_and_Hurley.JPG When the chaos starts riots will occur in Dublin city centre and many people will head for the mountains nearest to their locations. Ireland isn't big. Its smaller than most U.S states. The outcome would not be good. Every motorway would be clogged with cars. Motorways are formed different than highways. Highways are flat open roads mostly. Motorways have two-three foot concrete barricades an both sides and down the middle. Some motorways have their own lane for emergency services and if one car goes the entire system can be clogged up. There is motorway exits every few miles but since cars park along the motorway, behind the previous car because the traffic isn't moving due to car crashes, eventually the exits have cars parked blocking them. Cars have no where to go once they encounter a crash the lie there idle. All it takes is for once person to miss the exit as the traffic builds up for that one to become unusable. In all fairness many if not a lot of people will get the to the mountains. Most will die of starvation. With their being very little game and no fertile land, you would need knowledge of the land. Many people from the city are animal lovers but do not have the space to own such a thing as a dog. They would find it hard to kill animals, unlike their ancestors. If you were involved in the military or even scouts (which unlike the U.S scouts anyone can become a leader or member) makes you a valuable asset. The majority of survivors from the city that fled would die the first winter. also... Winter. Irish winters get worse every year due to global warming. Floods, gales, hurricanes and recently a mini tornado. Power is cut off to many rural areas. Flooding destroys farms and smaller more secure towns making the only safe place un-lootable or farmable. Also Ireland's longest and most flooding river, the Shannon, is the thing that goes right across the fertile part of the country that is filled with farms. Many people would flee to small offshore islands and Britain is only three hours by boat. Buildings in inner Dublin are close together and it's easy to blockade the main streets. Unlike U.S suburbs, Irish suburbs are not just houses for miles. In Ireland they contain all the services you would ever need. The majority of power comes from kinsale. An offshore natural gas station. It is almost out of gas and supplies well over half the countries power. there is often a divide between Irish people. For instance in Dublin, where I live, there is a river that divides the city called the liffey (originating in the Blessington lakes, co Wicklow) People to the south of the of the river are stereotypically thought of as wealthy, smug, posh and rude. People to the north are stereotypically thought of as poor, middle class, gangs, drugs and no respect for the law. Both. (especially the northsider one!) are a load of sh!t. Also the people from the countryside are thought of as stupid, smug, conservative, religious, strange, rich farmers people that will laugh at you If you say you are from the city. Also untrue. Last one about the laughing not so much. (county people are sometimes called Culchies. Pronounced CULL-CH-EE-Z. Farmers would have everything you need to kill zombies. Shotguns, pitchforks, combine harvesters. Irish people often have tension towards other things. The cities are multicultural places where its not uncommon to find a eighty year old woman who supports gay marriage. While in the countryside people mostly are white, religious and conservative (that's based on stereotypes so probably inaccurate). 66 percent of people live in suburbs. Verdict::: I'd say it's okay to presume because of high density and harsh conditions that 91 percent of people would be zombies or dead. Main cause of death: starvation, car crash and lack of survival skills. City centre of Dublin would be infested with gangs and a few suburban safe-houses. Most survivors would have survival skills prior to the apocalypse. This is what makes scouts and Soldiers valuable. They know what to eat, where to sleep and how to build shelter and kill, skin and eat wild game. These people would likely end up near a mountain but not directly on one. RE:VERDICT. Farmers and army men and women along with scout leader are the only notable survivors. RE-RE VERDICT: ZOMBIES DIDN'T KILL US, WINTER DID.
  4. already read that list, first thing I done on the fourm, must have aciddently skiped it
  5. sorry, new to the fourmn btw thanks for the info
  6. Since due to a bug in which I had to delete hours of progress instead of being unfairly pissed off at an video game in alpha stage I decided to do something productive and SUGGEST S~~T. 1 RIVAL NPC GANGS Ok I'd say by now we all know that Npcs are on their way even if it takes a year. Since its humans and no matter what there will always be human activity in a zombie infected world some of these people are going to have different ideas on how to run this world. For instance. A group of conservative Christians hole up in West Point's large church (After all it is the South)* while a group of Liberals attending an Amnesty international talk in West Point High School. Only a fool would believe these two very different group of people would get along. If its land claims, Human rights or Gun debates soon these two groups will be at each other like hawks. Maybe your character could join one side or scream F@+K YOU ALL! Maybe other survivors are caught in the middle, alone in an unsafe apartment above an infested street because they match neither of the groups agenda/ criteria. Maybe the playable character could kill the main people of both forts and claim both bases as their own? 2. SIGNS OF PAST RIOTS, MILITARY/POLICE STRUGGLES AND CHAOS If there is one thing at the begining of a z-apocalypse is that the main street of every town in the world would be rioted. Windows smashed, Cars Crashed.
  7. MY SUGGESTIONS! 1. food smoking. I think it would be good to add a few smoke houses at camps in the forest along the river where you could go fishing and smoke the fish to preserve them. you should be able to make a home made smoke house that functions less efficient. 2. Easier saving. It get very annoying having to ex- out to save which I do often in fear of losing data is the game crashes. Maybe saving in the in came option menu (the one where you press ESC.) 3. signs of past military intervention. Abandoned tanks (unusable) Crashed and abandoned Military vehicles. (your choice if usable). Zombies with Military uniforms. Raiders with Military uniforms. Also helicopters crashes into buildings and streets. Military evacuation orders and directions that can be found in many places like desks, drawers, in cars. 4. Car crashes and highway pile-ups in countryside stretching for miles. I think somewhere you said in a later update you would ad cars. Highway pile-ups would bring zombies, survivors and action into many of the dull roads that head out of town. It would make sense as people would flee in the early days. Also in the towns, cars crashed into poles, walls and other cars. Also cars pinning Zombies to walls! 5. saving npcs and making survivor bases. You could find a woman trapped in her car surrounded by zombies in the middle of a lonely country road, save an old man from a burning house, Rescue a collage student from a car crash. Then you could have the option to let them join you in your safe house. And maybe as you recruit people you may end up with a fully fledged base with survivors in the double didgits all with their own jobs. 6. Mountains, hills, hunting camps, campgrounds, improved countryside/nature/forest system. LAKES, RIVERS, BOATS,isolated mountain cabins and lake cabins. Just plain simple. Add more to all that spare counrtyside. 7. more special buildings. Museums, Bunkers, Prison , Golf club, 8. Signs of past human activity. Maybe a safehouse overrun, Or an abandoned safehouse, barricaded and stockpiles. Post zombie apocalypse graffiti on buildings (By gangs) Walls full of missing person posters 9.Sanity. You can go insane. 10.Secret Compartments Hidden places to stare items. (In a hollow wall, under a floorboard.) 11. Slower axe depletion The current rate is unrealistic, nuff said 12.Burgular alarm go when the power goes. Less of them aswell.
