I cant think of anything worse to have in zombie apocalypse other than a child, especially a baby. Useless and extremely stressful in the best of times. A good chance they’d be the death of you in a zombie apocalypse. Trying to get a baby to stop crying or a toddler to stop having an epic meltdown while theres zombies around. As a father, its a hard no from me.

However, I’m all about options. If someone wants that experience then why not? Just please, please, please do not force us to have to care for kids unless we choose to have kids. I quit Dead Rising 2 immediately upon realizing I had to care for a kid. Never turned it on again.

Too easy to take advantage of IMO. You get the points permanently, but the difficulty of having the child is not permanent. They’re not our real children and for some players, it would be easy to be rid of the “challenge”.

If not caring for the child or allowing something bad to happen to it would cause severe depression for a very long time, then maybe it could work. There would need to be a benefit to keeping the child alive and well other than the character creation points.

They would start out as tree sapplings that you can plant at your base and would take a couple of years to grow and once they do you can have a near infinte source of delicious and nutritious fruit year round.

Can't you already do this? When you're in the loot menu, just select all the stuff in the crate and drag it over to the floor icon below the crate icon on the right side of the loot menu. It dumps everything onto the floor. Like this:

EDIT: Or wait, I think you can also just select everything in the crate and then drag it off to the side without bothering to hover over the floor icon. I just shut my game down but I'm sure you can check yourself.

In places where you received severe lacerations or deep wounds, it would be cool to see scars after the wound heals, so as the run goes on, your character looks more beat up if they've survived many battles

1192.  When an exercise fills it's "Regularity" bar have there be an XP Boost when continuing to do that exercise  If the exercise is not done for awhile then the "Regularity" bar could decrease and the XP Boost would be lost.

1191. Horde noises. the same way corpses will start to gather flies when close to one another, "live" zombies should do the same by making one large noise together when idling or aggro'd onto the player (essentially a horde version of the attack noise zombies make when in close proximity to the player). it should begin more subtly when in lower numbers, but when a large group of zombies have gathered their noises start to shift into the group's noise being more prominent than just individual noises.

I dunno, I used to work as a framer, there's really no qualifier between a "professionally built" wall and a "homemade wall" if you have the know how and proper materials.
One thing that REALLY irks me is the unfinished walls in game have a cross beam going *diagonally*...
not only is this something that makes construction unnecessarily difficult, it's not up to code and you'd never see ANYONE do this in America at least. Two sticks per wall segment is appropriate, not a diagonal piece.

I'd love to see the depression system get some attention. Right now unless I eat bad food or sit around all day in game, my character doesn't get unhappy. There's no need for anti-depressants.

It would make sense that doing tasks your character enjoys would be a comfort to them. Doing tasks they don't like would weigh on their mood.

My hope is that when NPCs are added that this system will be overhauled. The interactions between fellow survivors seem like great opportunites to expand this.

In MP if a player is injured, infected, sick, or killed around them it could have a negative effect on our moods. That seems like an easy addition. Did you see or hear a player character get killed? If yes, then did you kill them? If no, then player gets a negative mood adjustment. That guy you just spent weeks/months surviving with was killed when he was looting a car because you asked him to check it for smokes. That'd probably be a downer.

Though flint is ideal for making sharp stones and doubles as a fire starter you don't actually need to use flint at all. Once you do the knapping you simple grind down the stone the rest of the way until it is sufficiently sharp. This can be done with other rocks and course sand. The materials you can find near any common river, creek, or stream should be plenty to get the job done.

A QoL suggestion: make sprites for the container icons in our inventories.

I included a few pictures here:

In this first picture you can see two metal cabinets that both have wood box icons. There are 3 wooden box sprites for the containers in my vicinity. Only 1 of them is an actual wooden box.

This next photo shows metal containers have a wooden box sprite. The metal shelves also show up as wooden shelves.

Not a huge deal, but would be a nice QoL tweak for those of us who like keeping our containers organized.

as it is i think that the current depression system is rather unhuman like as its a one type for all where as depression affects different people differently.

adding different characteristics to the player character would havefer a more enhanced game experience by adding demeanor this are just a overlay to help people understand what im going for,
hardworker - building, dismantling, fixing, or doing increases happiness but things like books and magazines aswell as other current have no effect
ADHD - less effected by stress and depression overall but increased stress and depression when leveling new skills, being in areas that are unmarked on the map and car alarms/house alarms = insta stress
lazy - depression increases the more you do
alcoholic - alcohol greatly decreases stress and depression

the main idea of this is to help add economy into the game by adding greater need and less need for some items for some players

just wanting to share an idea, i could come up with more but it depends on if this suggestion is well received

I wish the date was added to the automated weather broadcast information.

Provide the date (and ideally time) that the weather information is being provided for instead of just saying "Today" and "Tomorrow". It would eliminate any confusion on what day the information is referring to. I have listened to the broadcast at midnight and it gave me the same information from earlier in the previous day.

I grew up extremely poor, and even I had a CD walkman by the time I was in middle school in the late 90s/early 2000s, and we usually got stuff a generation behind. I remember my friends all had cases and cases of CDs from all their favorite bands everywhere, dozens of them in their rooms. My older friend's car had a CD player when he was learning to drive so we had the little books with the sleeves full of CDs that we had to change between.

We had the tape walkman with the radio on it before that, which is something that probably should be in the game as more common by this point, I remember my older sister had a bunch of cassette tapes up in her room. Dunno why those aren't the main audio format for the game, with CDs being less common than cassettes in 1993.

As for movies, you watched them on VHS, they were as ubiquitous as Youtube or Netflix is now. My mom STILL has our massive collection of VHS tapes. I remember a friend brought his kid brother over who was baffled by the "weird book" of Toy Story 1 we had on the shelf, because he had just watched it on Blu Ray, and we had to explain to him that that movie came out when we were his age, and thats how we watched it.
