  2. There already is this. On our server we have our reading speed increased by 10x. Not realistic, but it’s bad “game-play” to stand around watching a progress bar for real life hours.
  3. I *think* I have a solution for you, but its a little cumbersome. Make sure you have starting with a "starter kit" enabled. I have not tried this, but worth a shot. The other workaround is if just you and your friend are playing together, or if its a group of friends, just have the players in game go to sleep (assuming you're playing with sleep enabled) and wakeup in the morning. Meanwhile your friend is waiting to spawn in. When morning comes, you let them know and they spawn in.
  4. Verifying the server files validated all the files. I also tried reinstalling the server and keeping the save files. Problem persisted. This might be a tangent, but we found a VHS video labeled: "VHS - Home" for some. For other players it showed up as "Home VHS: Bauman and Triskel Apr..." All the videos are labeled "VHS:XXXX" this one was "VHS-Home" and it did not play when placed in a VCR. We took the videos we found labeled like this and deleted them in the trash bin. The error logs seem to have stopped. Coincidence? Maybe, or this was part of the problem.

  6. If it doesn't already, I think it should. Otherwise, what's the point of leveling up first aid? According to the most recent Thursdoid, there is going to be a rework of the skills/professions etc in the next build. So maybe this will be addressed?
  7. I like the idea of not having a "you are here" marker. However, I do not know how this would work with the current map system. As you move about the map it draws in where you've visited. How is this possible if you don't know exactly where you are?

  9. 1170. To the best of my knowledge no one in the US calls lights “lamps” other than maybe a light on an end table or a nightstand, but people here usually still call those “lights”. You won’t ever hear anyone say “Turn off the lamp”. It doesn’t happen. “Lamps” should be called “lights”. Light on a pole, wall light, etc.
  10. 1169. To plumb a sink to a rain barrel we should need some piping. Maybe a metal-working skill? Or could use PVC. Don't hate me for suggesting this, but shouldn't we need some sort of filter system to get clean water from the rain barrel to the sink? Maybe we could use some gravel, sand, and charcoal.

  12. 1166. Make trap crates use a full carrot to bait. Right now they use most of a carrot and you get a small amount of carrot left over. Who wouldn't just put the whole carrot in the trap as bait?
  13. Google tells me that 36.6% of the residents in KY are obese. So maybe a 1/3rd of the zombies stumbling about should have a larger model? Makes sense to have them move slower, but are harder to push back, etc
  14. When talking about suicide saying someone is squeamish or not about it is maybe missing the point. It’s maybe not about whether or not they can stomach it. Worldwide, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 15-24. Over 800,000 people take their own lives every year. No one has ever faced zombies. None of us ever will. It’s not reality and it never will be. However, for some people, dealing with loved ones committing or trying to commit suicide or having their own suicidal thoughts is very much their reality. Yes, suicide can fit within PZ and suicide is often a part of zombie stories (RIP Carl!), but some tact and empathy needs to be applied to adding something like suicide to a game and should only be done with great care. Devs approaching this cautiously is prudent, and having options to disable it in the game is an obvious thing that should be done. Suicide is real and it affects real people.
  15. I agree. At the very least they should have different body models. Different heights too.
  16. I think I agree with your suggestion. Do you mean that all of the zombies will form into groups and that some zombies will remain by themselves? Right now the zombies all clump together and after awhile there are very few zombies that aren’t in a large clump.
  17. 1165. Sledgehammers should leave “unusable wood” after destroying wooden objects.
  18. 1164. Carpenters of a minimum level (TBD) should be able to disassemble player built walls. Currently a sledgehammer is needed to destroy them.
  19. I know animations are a work in progress, but the current animation for climbing out a window with a sheet rope attached gives me (not my character) panic every time I see it. Our characters climb out the window and hang on as if they’re going to jump, then switch to the sheet rope. Would anyone not hold onto the rope as they climb out a window? Obviously not a big deal, but something that should be cleaned up in the future. Hoping this is on the to-do list at some point.

  21. maybe just bad luck? our group has had no problem finding empty gas cans. Found quite a few at the gas station in Riverside.
