  1. What?! And what about your fresh looted magazines?
  2. At first: You aren't the only one with a depression so you are not alone with this "illness"! There is no 100% cure for a depression but many ways to handle it. At second: Here in Germany: Find a psychiatrist! He have to diagnose the depression. After then find a professional psychotherapist for yourself. Not every psychotherapist is the right one for you. So you have to try out various peoples to find out if they suits to you and you feel comfortable. As for me there are some simple (not so simple if under a heavy attack of a depression ) strategies: -accept the depression. -structural daily routines: getting up early, fix time for breakfast, lunch and dinner, go to bed (you shouldn't sleep more than 9 hours, 7-8 hours should be fine) -no alcohol or other drugs. If you are under medication this is necessary. It's also a good time to put an end to this because drugs restrict your thoughts and you fleeing from reality. You can only solve problems if your mind is clear and if your mind is clear you know that you have problems -sporting activities. Walk, jogging, basketball, football/soccer, baseball, tennis, tabletennis, chess (yes really), yoga, martial arts, biking, dancing and so on. Everthing that lures you out of your home. Fresh air and daylight helps a lot and activities make you tired, so you can sleep better at night. -don't take a nap. Because you won't be tired at night an need more time until you are asleep (2-3 hours lying in the bed awake while fighting with bad thoughts aren't funny) -live in the here and know. You can't change the past and can't forecast the future. Many fears are unfounded and might never happen. The fears exists because of the negative thoughts generate trough the depression. If you feel lost in your thoughts, bring yourself back concentrating on things that now happens: watch and hear the traffic, try to describe it for example. -use of free time. Read a book, play games, meet friends. -tell your best friends and family that you have a depression. You shouln'd be ashamed of it. They can handle the situation better when they are informed and won't think that you don't like them anymore because of distance. -don't overcharge yourself. Don't say "yes" to everything if you don't feel like it. You don't live for others and you don't have to manage all the shit that happens around you. Take more time for your needs. If something won't work immediatly don't despair. Under the influence of a depression even small and easy things of life are hard to master. -even small achievments are to appreciate. Even something trivial like bring out the garbage, wash the dishes or clean up your room. -If you made an appointment with friends, family and so on, go out there and meet them. It's not good to lock yourself up at home. There are of course many more good tactics to manage a depression, but these are helpful for myself.
  3. Sounds like RL-TV to me same here. If you are watching tv long enough for a boredom moodle to pop up in the 90s, you are bored. Maybe it should add some stress as well, but once that subsides it should be boredom. Especially if the tv-shows were like Beverly Hills 90210 or Melrose Place... . Of course there were also really good shows back then but there must be a reason why there are so many zombies around the city!
  4. Also you have the option of: Knock against the door, hear zombie, make steps back, open it, yell and if it come out, kill it.
  5. Maybe the zombies have the ability of tripping too. Would be funny to see
  6. No Problem! Take as much time you need. Errors comes up with hastiness, or so they said
  7. Maybe the weight is not reduced because the half of the food is inside your body and you carry it all along But I think the question has its place
  8. Got a little problem, my charakter has a broken foot 1: The missing corner at the white fence. 2: The House with no interior doors and funiture 3: The blocked door 4: The shop with missing doors 5: The public toilets have no doors; you used the wrong door tiles. This problem is at all toilets where you used the "toiletwall" tiles (the blue furniture ones) 6: Not included but please check out the fire/ escape staircase at the building (red big block) in the picture in the north east, maybe the staircase-bug 1: The gas station pillars are open and accessable (should be 4 tiles). In the building editor just make a roomdefinition for this and place room, then you have closed inaccessable pillar. 2: Missing doors and the seccond floor isn't acsessable (don't know why) 3: At the 2nd floor on the north east side you can fall down (it was dark, maybe a missing wall) I don't think that my current character will make it to the hospital with her broken foot... somehow ironic Edit: These are the buildings I checked so far
  9. Here is the right image https://www.dropbox.com/s/8u30pkl8ks428xn/screenshot_10-02-2015_10-53-25.png?dl=0 It's a missing stake at the south corner. Sorry, I don't marked it with paint, the next screens will be marked but I hope there won't be much more . If I got too close the fence will vanish. Like I said, the buildings are great and the map itself is flawless . I'll venture forth and visit the hospital and college. At the first time I had no clue where I was but with the supermark and the construction yard I've a guide. Sadly for testing the buildings I used the sandbox "beginners mode", so I'm not afraid of the quarantine zone , but later I'll try a harder setting
  10. Or serveral houses begin burning because of electrical shortcuts .
  11. Playing a carpenter doesn't mean you'll instantly die if you leave your house , it takes only time and training to get better in other skills. If you find a baseball bat you can sure kill around 50+ zombies until it breaks, maybe you'll need 3-4 hits for a single zombie, but you won't be defensless. An allrounder survivor (or unemployment like Jatta mentioned) will maybe a better option for surviving, but I think that a survivor without any skills (all multiplicators at 0,25 like RJ corrected) won't die easily if playing correct. It'll be harder but not impossible. And even with the mythological beings called npcs it's not guaranteed, that you'll find the right one with the skills to relieve your cons. Maybe the first one you'll met is an insane master marksman and pointing his gun at you
  12. Food: I think to take only one "food gaining"-skill would be wise than two or more. It will depend on your base location: At the river (or lake) it will be usefull to take fishing, in the woods foraging/hunting/trapping, in the open field farming. Fishing has a downside because you'll need cooking (fresh uncooking meat), but I think even with a mere multipicator (without books) of 0,33 you can maybe reach the first four stages (of ten). In RL I'm also no master chief and managed not to die from my cooking skills . Ingame you just have to watch your exp when cook something and it won't burn. Maybe there will be in the future cooking restrictions for food (with stage 1 you can barely make a sandwitch and with stage 3 you can make a 5 minutes soup) You can also live from nonperishable food (if you settle down in the city) and if you are a nomad than take forageing. Weapons: Specializing at one melee weapon skill. Most prefer clubs, some knifes. Choose one and stick with it. This is one of where I'll spend points to reach the 1 multiplicator. There are enough zombies to push your skills. Markmanship is interesting because of the limitaion of ammo I would prefer a higher multiplicator to reach a higher skill with less shooting. Melee weapons can be repaired but to craft ammo is impossible. Reloading... not if you using a handgun. Physical: I think here are the skillpoints for good use. Sprinting is a good one. Running/sneaking from a horde is better to fight it. Crafting: Capentry with multiplicator 1 would be good if you aim for the rainbarrels and other stuff (there are books to push the multiplicator). If you want build castles then spend more points into capentry . First aid is... I don't know. Maybe on multiplayer useful, if you got shot. If you got bitten by a zomie and you are zombified the first aid won't help you. It's wise not to get scratched, bitten or hurt in this game, so its hard to train this skill: so either spend many points in this skill or none. Edit: I want the new proffession/trait update!
  13. It's a great map so far but with minor bugs and missing stuff Missing Stuff: - Most kitchens have no sinks - No light switches - Some stores have no doors - Some houses have no doors (interior the rooms are not accessable) - this fence has no corner Bugs: - Stairs build above a stairs; it's a annoying feature that you can't go down if you place something above beneath a stair. (gladly I found a sledgehammer) - Vending machines have only two placing positions. - Some doors are blocked by funiture Some critic: Your buildings are really cool (especialy the constructionyard ) BUT (no this "but" doesn't mean that your buildings aren't cool ) for me the interior of the resident houses looks a bit generic (too many bookshelfes, for example). I hope you look into this in later releases. Interior stuff is easy to change but takes time. I like your building style!
  14. Or a map request at the mapping/ modding area
  15. Maybe for transport. In german this is called "Hunt"
  16. I recently played the map and I don't know why the airportterminal is not accessable. The deathtrap staircase is because the upper room has the same floor at the tower. I used the same floortiles at the military base and they are functional . Same at the controlroom in the hangar with the floor. I played the buildings in Last Stand and all rooms were accessable. If someone could test these buildings on another map I would be grateful! The "tents" at the helipad don't have doors. The tents have no floors (similar to pavilons) they take the ground as floor where they are placed., so if there are trees and rocks inside then the tent was misplaced (or Erosion placed them there) . The "elevators" in the hospital are deathtraps, sadly there aren't good door tiles to define them as elevator doors, so sorry . Never ever use elevators in an apocalypse!
  17. They are everywhere! Really good suggestions
  18. I don't work on it at the moment. Here is the file if you want to see it or modify it Be wary the file is huge at the editor https://www.dropbox.com/s/ltdc9tq38g03b8d/footballfield.zip?dl=0
  19. Because I said that I don't know how the engine works and if this possible or not I support taller trees but I can't imagine the finished product looks alright
  20. Maybe I don't know how the engine works and what is possible or not I wrote an edit
  21. Yes, I know what you trying to say. It's like 3D (in really 2D because it uses only two axis not three) fake isometric view (like the old Ultima games) The tree would use more than one tile like the children slide. I don't know if both tiles would be block the view and the walk but distant trees would cover more place than a singe tree trunk. Maybe I'm wrong and there is a solution I can't see Edit: so one big tree would take place like three current trees but zombies and items aside the big tree would be hidden because of the view perspective and they shouldn't because they won't stand "under" the three. It's like current with a bridge for example, you can't see under the brigde because you are not close enough that the engine will blend out the upper floor. But even if you're enough in the fake isometric view, there would be only a small circle around you like if you stand close to a wall. Maybe someone with a better english sentence can explain it
  22. Generally I would like to see 2 floors high trees but EnigmaGrey said it before: They will be cut if you near and there will be only tree trunks . Technically we won't ever see the branches from above, because our character had a perspective on his/her current floor and I think many players would be "sad" if they can't see for example a horde because of the branches which they cover. And it could be annoying to see the branches switching on or off if you walk. On the other side it would look cool if your charakter is on a higher floor than the trees I hope my text is read- and understandable Edit: Something coming in my mind... sadly a contra In the building editor for example lamp posts are not conected. I have to place the bottom part of the LP (lamp post) and then switching one floor up and place the upper part of the LP. If you now destroy the lower part of the LP I think the upper part would be remain floating. Of course its only theoretical and I never tried it but I think if you lumber one of your pine trees, the branches would be remain flying
  23. I would like to see flickering lights in buildings, maybe also on flashlights (sometimes).
  24. I would like to see a bubble wrap suit for those stressful days
