  1. That's great news. The 'no 'auto levelling Skyrim dungeons'' analogy is perfect, and exactly what I was hoping to hear. BTW: Thank you Lemmy for replying, its awesome a Dev will take the time to explain these things. This is an amazing game so far, and I cant wait to see more.
  2. Right, I remember the devs saying that NPC's were going to be done long before multi-player. I am happy to hear that the programming is so complex that they can get multi-player up faster than the NPC's. From what I understand its tough to program multiplayer into a game. So this is a sign that they are putting the time into the NPC's to make them right, and not rushing some half-assed AI into the game.
  3. I think most of those ideas would be great for mods but, Two teams vs..... that my friend would have serious potential to make it in the game. Think about it: One life, competetion for resources, zombies trying to kill you, players trying to kill you, burning down others safe houses, an invisible wall so no one can run into the woods, stealing food from others, leading hordes into other players, just two teams trying to greif the others as much as possible until finally the one lone teams survivor gets trapped in a burning attic...... or whatever. I would be surprised if a team game doesnt make it into multiplayer.
  4. Simple hand-held radios/ CB's would be a great idea for communications around a small or medium distance. For long distance or between towns a larger fixed HAM radio with antenna. Maybe the larger radio could also act as a repeater that would boost whatever frequency its set too. That way one channel could be long range even on the hand-helds. I think different frequencies are a must. That way you must meet up with someone and give them your freq. instead of just randomly finding people over the air.
  5. I have my doubts, but I guess it depends on how its implimented. I would hate to die because I was doing well just as much as I would hate to live because I was playing poorly. If there is an issue with the game getting dull at certain points then that seems more like a balancing issue that should be addressed with the NPC/ Zombie AI or Metagames. Not by tracking and responding to the player, especially if its going to change the items you "randomly" find throughout the game. This can put the player "on a rail" so to speak. I would like to see the game balanced properly, then the AI director added. That way we can toggle it off and still play a good game. I know the temptaions there for programmers to rely on something like that for a quick fix for problems, and for some issues it might be the best fix. Just please dont go overboard with it. Please dont be like EA.

Also, consider how it would affect the NPC's you meet when they are implemented. Smelling like shit and being covered in blood might be a negative when interacting with an NPC the first time. The system could be so simple. If a bathroom has hygene products and a bucket of water then: right-click->hygene (or whatever)->fade to black/fade in -> clean moodle. I really have no idea why this isn't implemented. Maybe they will change their minds.
  7. I just recently discovered the devs are implementing what they call a "Sadistic AI Director." I can find a lot of speculation on the forum's but does anyone have a link to an official description from the devs? I ask because I despise EA games for the amount of scripting they contain. Punishing players for doing well and helping those for playing poorly. I would hate to see Project Zomboid turn into another FIFA.
  8. goon plural noun: goons 1. a silly, foolish, or eccentric person. 2. a bully or thug, esp. one hired to terrorize or do away with opposition.
