    Hello everyone
     
    Let's talk about the new safety system once the build 25 is out !
     
    1) What is it ?
     
    The safety system allow you do hunt with your good mates without hurt them, still you can PVP if you want.
     
    2) How does it works ?!
     
    You always start your game with the safety enabled, you have a new hotkey ("P" by default) to toggle your safety off/on.
    Trigger safety take some times (~1s) but the other can see that you disabled your safety instantly.
    Then it take some times (~10s) to toggle your safety again.
    Pressing "P" will cancel all the current timed action (like eat, etc.).
     
    Someone with Safety Off will have a skull in his username (this can be changed by the admin) :
     

     
    To know if you're in safety or not, you'll have a new UI on bottom right :
    Safety On :

    Safety Off :

     
    3) Impact on PVP
     
    Safety On = You CAN'T hurt other people who have their Safety On but you CAN hit people with Safety Off.
    Safety Off = You CAN hurt everyone (safety On or Off).
     
    4) Example
     
    You are alone, with safety On, you met someone with Safety On.
    You : "Hello, wanna scavenge with me ?"
    Other : "Sure, let's go !"
    Other player trigger Safety Off, you INSTANTLY see it (the skull appear), but the Other player have to wait 1 second before he can hurt you.
    You : "What the..." *hit with the baseball bat*.
     
    What does this mean ?
    If someone want to mess with you, he'll have to think about it, really hard, because he'll have 1second where he can't hit you, but you can hit him.
     
    Also, remember as a player with Safety On, you can sitll hurt people with Safety Off, they won't be invincible because you're in Safety On, Safety On only mean you CAN'T hurt other Safety On (for example when you go hunting with your group, to avoid any mistake).
     
    5) Administration
     
    This new Safety is configurable by a server admin, you have 2 new Server Options :
    SafetySystem=true // Allow the user to change their safety (if false and if PVP=true, then the safety will always be off).
    ShowSafety=true // Allow the players to see if someone have his safety off with the skull icon.

    Hello everyone, this post will explain how to do things as an admin on your server (please note it'll be for build 25).
     
    When you first launch your server, or if no "admin" account exist, a password for the user 'admin' will be asked in your console.
     
    Once your set 2 times the password, the admin user=admin password=yourpassword will be created, you can now log with it and administrate the server (create user, create admin, spawn items, etc.)
     
    Once you logged with him, you'll have access to some commands, to have a full list type /help in the chat.
     
    Every command have to be entered directly in the chat, press "t" and then /youroption.
     
    Server host can also manage their server directly via the console (no need to type the "/" for the commands), example  :

     
     
    1) Administrator Commands
     
    Remember to type /help to have a full list or /help command to have the help tooltip for this command.
     
    I *may* have put some easter eggs in there... But they won't appear in /help
     
     
    2) Server Options
    The server options are stored in the Users/Zomboid/Server/servertest.ini file, it can be changed directly inside the .txt with an additional reboot of the server, or manually in game with the /changeoption optionName=value and after the command /reloadoptions.
     
    This is the list of the current Server Options :
     
    So let's say I want to stop the PVP on the server without reloading, I log as admin or use the console, and do :

      /changeoption PVP=falseAnd then
      /reloadoptions3) LogsThe host will have several logs to help him track down cheater, abusing admin, etc.
     
    The logs are located in Users/YOU/Zomboid/Logs/ folder, everytime you reboot your server new logs are created (like this : dd-mm-yyyy_hh-MM_loggerName.txt) and the previous one are put inside a backup folder (like logs_dd-mm-yyyy/).
    Everytime a logs size is > 10mo (will be configurable) a new logs is created.
     
    For now we have 2 logs, an "admin" one and a "pvp" one.
    The admin one will log everything that an admin do, few examples :

    [12-12-2014 17:25:58] user RJAdmin enabled godmod on Chris.[12-12-2014 17:27:32] user RJAdmin added Base.Axe inside Andy's Inventory.[12-12-2014 17:28:16] user RJAdmin banned ip 192.168.5.12 (Robomat).The pvp one will log every safety toggle and pvp action from players, few examples :
    [12-12-2014 17:25:58] user Chris toggled safety off.[12-12-2014 17:27:32] user Chris hit RJ with an Axe.[12-12-2014 17:27:33] user Chris hit RJ with an Axe[12-12-2014 17:27:34] user Chris hit RJ with an Axe[12-12-2014 17:27:35] user Chris killed RJ.[12-12-2014 17:29:41] user Chris toggled safety on.

    Hello!
     
    Since the new mapping tools came out, I was working really hard on creating the HUGE apartment building that I'm currently living at IRL.
     
    It mostly consists of 5-6 entrances, 5 story high, 4 flats each floor. In total, that goes by amount of 120 flats in 1 apartment building.
     
    BUT, since each "entrance" has relatively same "copy-pasted" layout, I thought of an easier solution to do it, rather than having to map it all out with hand.
     

     
     
    This is a ONE ENTRANCE out of 6. 20 apartment flats in total. I've completed the layout, doors, windows, window sheets, walls, stairs and a roof. I figured, all I need to map left are "edges" of a building, since those have additional windows on the sides, and then just copy-paste this "MID" entrance 3-4 times inbetween. Voila - We'll get a huge Russian apartment building with 120 flats. All there is left to do is fill it up with furniture.

    I've created an "UNOFFICIAL" manual for Project Zomboid, mainly to assist those new to the game, and might help in the interim before the Kate and Baldspot story/tutorial are back in.

    NOTE: The details in the manual are fairly up-to-date, but as PZ is still in active development, anything in the guide is subject to change etc. Apologies for any errors, I'll try and update it as necessary. (*EDIT* This was made before the "Last Stand" mode and some other additions were added. Will update the manual at some stage and re-upload)

    I didn't mean it at all offensive (or poking the Flemish vs Walloon thing), just pointing it out. :cool:  Although there are some differences between Flemish Dutch and Netherlands Dutch they are only minor, I'll look into it if I have the time.

    Here is a thread where we could coordinate the translation effort. I don't know whether it will be decided to keep this format as translation progresses, but this is probably as good as it can be for now.
     
    IMPORTANT NOTE: As from now on, the translated files are hosted on a Mega account. The public link to access the folder containing these files is below. This is to ease the update process when builds are released and to avoid tedious copy / paste processes for our beloved RobertJohnson (and for me to avoid fiddling with an ever-expanding text-tree) .
     
    The translation remains a collaborative process, and anyone is still welcome to propose inputs in the forum . Galbar or myself will make the suggested changes in the files hosted in Mega.

    Ici nous allons faire la meilleure traduction Belge francophone possible, car il y a quand même quelques différences, d'expression notamment, entre le Français et le Belge. Et parce que je joue pas mal avec des joueurs Belge je prends soin d'eux
     
    Donc peuple de Belgique venez m'aider à faire la meilleure adaptation qui puisse être à partir de la traduction Française actuelle !
     
    En Belgique par exemple on dit pas : "Peux-tu allumer la lumière ?" mais "Sais-tu allumer la lumière ?"
    Et la prononciation de certains nombres est différentes également.
     
    Et si par hasard des Flamands passaient par ici et qu'ils souhaitent une eux aussi une traduction adaptée, isl peuvent demander de l'aide ou créer un Topic propre et claire à cette intention.

    Here we gone a make the best translation for people of Belgium who speak "french", because there is some differences between French and Belgian-french. And because I play a lot with belgian players I take care of them
     
    So people of Belgium get up and come to help us to make your best adapted translation from the actual official French translation !
     
    In Belgium for example people speaking "French" doesn't say "Do you can light-on ?" but "Do you know light-on ?"
    And some numbers pronociations are differents too.
     
    And if there is some Flemish/Vlaams people who want their own translation ask it or create a clean Topic for ask help.

    Hello survivors !
     
    Have you plenty of unusable items in you safe-house trash container all-time? Have you 3 parts for your dreamed item , but no luck for last? Well I'm trying to solve this by creating recycling system, so you will be able to take usable materials from useless item and crate something you are looking for. 

    And much more There is over 20 new items, new options like Relax with items, Suicide , special Throwing and Archery weapons , zombie Baits, handmade Explosives and other things...well this is still WIP 
     NOTE mod don't have custom sprites for weapons (most of them looks like knife) only icons.
    Also don't expect any special effects

    -item fly in wrong direction sometimes when player move (i call it new feature for now)
    -update stuff error related to fire sometimes
    -that damm fire dont work
    -that damm sound stop playing when player move
     
     
    No rights reserved...not at all. Feel free to build on it, but you better not.Its still WIP  so modifications will be probably broken after update.

    Sleeping Overhaul

    Did you ever want to hole up in the Pile 'o Crepes or Spiffo's Burger Joint but couldn't because there was no place to sleep? Then this mod is exactly what you are looking for. It allows you to sleep virtually anywhere (in beds, on sofas, in tents, in armchairs, on chairs, on benches, on the floor, and more...) and every object has its own comfortability levels which affect the recuperation process.
     
    You too can sleep in the lovely smell of crêpe.


    But this mod does more than adding more sleeping possibilites to the game. It changes the whole sleeping system. The player won't sleep for a fixed amount of time anymore but instead only until he is fully recuperated ... or awakened by a nightmare. You now can also sleep whenever you want - No more "you aren't tired enough to sleep" modals. Take a nap and be happy!
     
    Church is closed... but open for napping.


    There is also a chance to pass out when too tired now, so try to sleep regularly. If it happens, your character will drop to the floor and stay unconscious for a few hours. Of course this has a few repercussions so try to avoid it ... not to speak of the zombies who might munch on your brain while you are dreaming of better days.
     
    Who wouldn't sleep in a fast food joint!?


    The recuperation system is more realistic than with the vanilla sleeping mechanics. With this mod a healthy character who's very exhausted sleeps about 6 hours to be fully rested. But there are other factors that influence the recuperation time. For example being stressed will make the player sleep longer to regain fatigue, because who could sleep deeply during a zombie apocalypse anyway?

    At the moment the most important factor for the sleeping time is the comfort level of the furniture (from best to worst):Level 0: Beds Level 1: Couches Level 2: Armchairs, Tents* Level 3: Chairs**, Benches, Treatment Tables Level 4: Bathtub Level 5: Toilet, Stools Level 6: Floor * Park Rangers have the "Camping Enthusiast"-Trait which makes tents as comfortable as beds for them.
    ** Security Guards have the "Chair Man"-Trait which makes chairs as comfortable as sofas for them.

    Sleeping in a bed will of course offer the best recuperation, but I tried to keep the values balanced so even sleeping on the floor (without any other effects) won't be too bad. Of course I know that there are some people out there who'd prefer sleeping on the floor. For those people the values are easily changeable in the Sleeping_Config.lua file.









    Some of the new modal dialogues.


    As of version 1.1.0 there are two new traits for the Park Ranger and the Security Guard which affect the sleeping behaviour for those characters. The custom icons were made by the one and only Thuztor!
     


    Finally sleeping is affected by a multitude of factors (stats, comfortability, etc...) and there is even more stuff to come in the future! For a complete list of the current features check out the changelog below. As always crits && comments are appreciated. If you find any bugs or places where the sleeping overhaul doesn't work please report them here! Also the stats and different values aren't carved into stone. If there are issues with the balancing I'm totally open to change it.

    This mod shows you the relative and absolute coordinates of your player. You can activate the small overlay by pressing 'P' ingame. I first made this mod for the map-issues thread to ease the pain of reporting map bugs for both the players and MashPotato

    Now I mostly use it to find decent spawnpoints for player professions

    Changelog to 2.41a
    - 3D WorldModels of Spraycans and Chalk
    - A lot of new symbols to spray (alphabet, numbers, special characters, special symbols)
    - Every symbol is now drawn in 2x tile size
    - Replacing of the menu button
    - Resizing of symbol menu buttons
    KNOWN ISSUES:
    - Existing colours of e.g. blue will change after spraying the same symbol in e.g. red (after loading save game the colour is back to wanted colour)
    - Because of redesigning the menu I had to remove the ability to draw with chalk (it will back in the next version)

    You can find Spray Cans and Chalk in some of the containers.
    - 9 colours (black, white, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, violet, cyan) (chalk not in black)
    - A lot of symbols (alphabet, numbers, special characters, special symbols)
    Every spray can and piece of chalk has 40 uses.

    - If you have one spray can or piece of chalk in your main inventory, you can open the spray paint menu to begin to spray/draw.
    - After clicking on one of the symbol-buttons, a ghost tile of the symbol appears on your cursor.
    - Now click left on the position you want.
    - Your character will start spraying.

    Info:
    - You can't spray on natural tiles! Next Version, probably.

    planned for the next versions:
    - adding north,south,west,east versions of every symbol (textures are already done)
    - spraying on walls (textures are already done)
    - complex texts on walls with chalk
    - timedAction and walkTo
    - sounds
    - graffiti
    - attack zombies with spray cans to make them blind and without sense of smell (animation also planned)

    I was looking for something like this as always when I see blood splatter somewhere on wall or couple of zombies in house I'm thinking what happened there,.Like its blood from suicide or fight? Was these zombies family members? Who was infected first and what happened next?

    Survivor Stories (WIP)

    This is the latest mod I've been working on. It basically adds a bunch of readable messages to loot containers all over the world which describe the horrors of the Zombie Apocalypse but also the life before the Outbreak. All in all it should create a bit more immersion

    Also: Easter Eggs.





    This mod is heavily in development at the moment. Expect bugs and problems all around
