  1. Hey guys, sorry for the long absence, but Bedford Falls V3 is low live on Steam Workshop - with added zombies and foraging! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=522891356 I will update the download in the OP of this thread, but for now your best bet is to subscribe to the mod on the workshop. As far as parts of the map not loading on a multiplayer server, I'm afraid I can't really help you much there, you might have better luck looking in the PZ Multiplayer forum. There will still be the odd building that may have a bug or two, if/when they are reported here I will squash them and update as quick as I can (another reason to use workshop rather than having to manually re-download and install).
  2. Im not saying that these guys will be unable to fulfil their goals, but its worth doing some due diligence before handing over any cash, as always. These devs are the guys who made the mod for Arma 3, Altis Life. There was a big furore over at the Bohemia Forums as they had apparently "stolen" many different mod makers mods and bundled them in with their mod without permission or even any credit. theres also a reddit page that scrutineses their kickstarter video, showing all the "scenes" for what they are, demo scenes/templates from unreal 4. Again, not saying they are untrustworthy or will fail, that's for you to decide before you put any money down, but in my eyes, definitely one to be wary of.
  3. first thing you need to do iirc, is in the Saitek profile editor is create a new profile and delete modes 2 and 3, and leave mode 1 as is, save it as "Elite". Then just make sure you connect your x52, select the Elite profile and then go in game and fiddle with bindings etc. I had loads of trouble too before setting up the "blank, 1 mode" profile.
  4. Well I suppose if he does find that there's any/too much wobble, it can always be buffed out using the deadzone settings.
  5. Hey kirrus, I was using an xbox 360 pad for windows just fine before I got my x52 pro. Gamepad is actually rather easy to use (all I had to do was rebind a couple of buttons for my horizontal thrusters). If your looking for a dedicated joystick then give these a look (cheapest to most expensive): Thrustmaster T Flight (£25ish) Mad Catz(Saitek) Cyborg Fly 5 (£30) mad catz(Saitek) x52 (£100ish) mad catz(Saitek) x52 pro (£120-£140) (basically the same as the x52 but most of the plastic has been replaced with metal, it has 2 springs instead of 1 and a few other upgrades) Thrustmaster Warthog (£300ish?) Ive never used the T-Flight or Cyborg Fly 5 but these were the 2 "cheap" ones I was looking at before deciding to go the x52 route, which I then changed to the x52 pro, which is absolutely astounding! The amount of immersion it added for me was phenominal! especially since whenever you look down in elite, your avatar is using exactly the same setup (x52 pro). I believe the warthog would havefer a similar experience, but this is obviously for flight sim aficionado's. But again, the xbox pad works great, and keyboard and mouse also works quite well once your used to the buttons, but once you use a flight stick you will fall in love with it
  6. Im confused as to what I want to do more after watching that video, play Elite or watch Blade Runner incidentally, me and CaptainBinky quickly tested the online private groups function last night, it works great and the in game voice comms is brilliant!
  7. just realised, if you go to the "groups" option page and add my name there too, you can join the group meaning if we want to play together we can use the "private groups" option under "online".
  8. Hello Commanders. just wanted to leave my in game name for Elite here so that if anyone wants to add me in game they can, never know, we might even get to the point of being able to form our own Colony and go searching the galaxy together. Name: Kryten 2x4b 523p I can currently be found piloting an anaconda around the starter systems, pulverizing any real player who accidentally visits an anarchy system, so erm, make sure you friend me before approaching Good hunting!
  9. completely agree Rath, at some point you have to just bite the bullet, but I always feel its worth knowing whats just around the corner as I've been the victim of buyers remorse more than once. Anyhow, the spec you have listed is a very decent system which should handle almost anything you throw at it gaming wise, up to 1080p on a single screen, and will still perform well over 2-3 screens, although probably not with games quality maxed out.
  10. the weakest part of your build is the 770, but think of it like this, if the maximum your gonna be running games at is 1080p on a single screen then the 770 will be good enough. If your gonna be gaming at above 1080p or across multiple screens then go for the 780. Again though, the 880's are due out in 2 month which are rumoured to be 20-30% faster than the 780, and about the same price, but unless your gonna be gaming on a 144hz 1440p monitor (or 4k) it will probably be overkill, but it should drop the price of the 780 a bit at the least.
  11. oh wow, didn't realise this had gone free to play(as in FREE, not micro-transaction rubbish), bought one of the versions about 2 year ago, brilliant brilliant game! will defo vote this up and also download the latest version (now free) from the website, even some mods up on there now too. To anyone who likes roguelikes or survival sims and hasn't played/heard of this game, go and play it now, by the time you look up from your screen it'll be Christmas
  12. Haswell Support - almost every single PSU (modern) will support haswell CPU's, even if they do not state that they do. Even if it didn't all it means is that your CPU will not be able to go into an "advanced hibernate super low watt" mode (c6 and c7 modes I believe they are called), which is almost utterly pointless in a windows environment, basically its a gimmick. plus, looking at the connectors that seasonic has, it already has a 24 pin, 4 pin AND an 8 pin mobo power connectors, which are a good sign it will handle ANY of todays CPU's. as for the new case, looks nice, will do the job, but quite possibly overkill when considering your budget, the first will do the exact same job, so would a case that's half the price, as long as it has at least one fan already in and space for another 1 or 2 at least just in case.
  13. I had an expensive 750W 80+ bronze blow on me in the last few weeks because it wasn't giving enough power to my system(it was fine until I added a 2nd hd6970), well, technically it was, for about 20 minutes, before a very loud fizz-pop and a plume of black smoke, every other component was fine. But it is worth bearing in mind that the 770's can pull 250W from a PSU when under full load without being overclocked, and the cpu can draw 160w under load with no OC, leaving only 90w to power everything else in your machine, personally with a modern mid/high end GPU I would never go below 600W, and that's just for a single GPU pc.
  14. if you can hold off til around October you will find the current selection of cards (especially NVidia) getting cheaper. The Nvidia 880 and 870 are due to hit early October with the 860 due a month later, the 860 should be bang on your $300 mark, the 870 will be about $400. Obviously this means that you could probably pick up a 770 and 780 for a lot cheaper then too. But, fighting for the AMD/ATI corner, the R9 and R8's do a much better job for the $ compared to the 770's and 760's imho, only current NVidia card I would choose over these would be a 780 or 780ti (titan's are just overkill).
  15. yeah this problem is server side, unfortunately that's where my knowledge ends as I havn't got around to setting up and hosting a server. There are already a good few servers out there running Bedford Falls v2 with no issues so its not a map issue. Best bet would be to check the Servers/Multiplayer forum for advice etc. Hey texas, I contacted Pride a few weeks back now to try and get a version of Dreadwood that I could connect to Bedford but havnt had a reply (literally just need one road from Dreadwood extended about 20 tiles). Let me know if you have access to the source files for Dreadwood, if you do it'll only take about an hour between us to knock out a combined version. As for remaining map bugs (walk through walls, broken stairs etc), i'll get these started in the next few weeks and get a V3 out for you guys which will more or less be the final version, apart from when the vanilla map is updated and I move Bedford etc to a more unpopulated, final location.
  16. check this thread out okeer: http://theindiestone.com/forum/index.php/topic/8899-mulitple-mods-loading-and-bedford-falls-exception/ some good info on how to successfully install Bedford falls onto a server with the latest build, although for buffer overflow exceptions, changing your memory settings to allocate more/less RAM may help too.
  17. yes it should be, simply copy and pasting the dreadwood lot files into the muldraugh folder should do the trick for SP, although you wont be able to spawn there unless you also add a dreadwood folder to the "maps" folder with the required files inside. Simply taking the bedford falls folder, making a copy, changing it to dreadwood and editing the desription.txt and map.info should be enough to give the option of spwaning in dreadwood, you will then need to edit the spawnpoints.lua to point at places in dreadwood, after this you should be set.
  18. make sure you are all running the latest IWBUMS branch of zomboid on steam before installing, also if your still having problems then delete the contents of "C:\Users\YOURNAME\Zomboid" folder (cut and paste the contents somewhere else if you want to keep save games etc). all you need to do is copy the "media" folder inside the zip file into your PZ install folder (C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid - or where ever you installed it) Then you will have the Bedford Falls location available on the map selection screen when you start a new game. Any problems getting the map to work on a MP server should be discussed in the "PZ Multiplayer>Help" section of the forums.
  19. I know you have cancelled this project due to a PC failure but if you have any of the .tbx files lying around then get them uploaded and i'll add them in to the community map mods. <3
  20. Great looking buildings Lonchez, any chance of uploading the .tbx files for them? would love to get them added to the community map mods. <3
  21. Hey Pjuux, great looking buildings/sprites man, are you planning on uploading the .tbx files for your buildings, would like to use some of these in the community map mods if possible. <3
  22. Thanks Saranis, this is now fixed for the next version! <3 I think thats a bug with .26 that was fixed with a hotfix yesterday. Thanks Blindcoder, damn that was fast work! <3
  23. you want to save your files as 24bit bmp files and if your using a program that blends/antialiases colours then you need to untick that option otherwise it will blend in "unrecognised" colours.
  24. Looks as though your reporting bugs from V1 of Bedford Falls Gomboid, the Fire station and kitchen access were fixed for V2. Theres not much i can do about light switches not working, a room either has a light switch or doesnt, if there is one there but it doesnt work then you can probably guess that the bulb is gone Cheers, fixed for next version
