Please read this friendly topic right here!

One of them are: [n]    Overpowered weapons/specific firearms

Now, you may say that it doesn't have to be OP. But PZ is going the more 'realistic' path and Romero lore of zombehz.

... unfortunately, my effort of making this post was for nothing. :<

DoctahWong reacted to Doublebrain in Where do I post sprites? Maybe here?
Down there you can find a custom tile set made with my sprites. You can use the whole sprite sheet or copy & paste the stuff you want and create your own tile set. There is also checkerboard like pattern you can download for easier copy & paste.

I dont spent too much time on making sprites but you can still request sprites if the request is not too huge and you can wait some time.

You can edit and use my sprites as you want.

Hi! I'm welcoming you to join the first unofficial real world map expansion for Project Zomboid!

    Community project:
    Radcliff

Now in blindcoder's PZ Map project!

    Disclaimer:
I can not and will not support any MP versions of the map and can not commit bug fixes in the forseeable nearTM future. The map is a beta version and does have bugs. If you're willing to live with this knowledge without complaint here's something for you:

    DOWNLOAD

Installation directions: just extract the files in your %username%/zomboid/mods -folder and enable the mod from the pz mods options window (you might have to restart the game).

As many of us know the developers have been hard at work with the mapping and Mash is pounding away in secrecy and deciding what will be the next big things added to the map. Also much hasn't been confirmed about how big the map will actually be and what it will eventually cover. We have had word that the map will be expanded, and some rumors that we'll likely see the impassable Fort Knox and the swarming city of Louisville implemented in the future. That is all we know. This project is here with that knowledge to be added south of the future Fort Knox and maybe even work as an encouragement for Mash and TIS on their great work.

So, what is this about? I am creating (with hopefully some help ) a 10x10 cell map with accurate (as close to real life size and placing, as I have the fortitude) road mapping, forests, rivers, railways, paths and buildings of the town of Radcliff which is south of Fort Knox.

Where do I fit in? Your job, if you wish to join and/or contribute to the project, is quite simple at the moment. I will need hundreds of buildings for this project and you as a budding Zob the Builder shall do my bidding , wait... no... can help <3 by making as real life accurate buildings as you can in the style of what is already existing in game (ie.no own tilesets, at least for now). More accurately, you can check google maps for the area covered and try to copy buildings as good as you possibly can. We are also trying to imitate the style that has already been established in the game by our wonderful MashPotato. If you wish to do more than that, have some mapping required (simple) skills and are ready to dedicate yourself, you can contact me by PM and we'll discuss your future role on the project. (Read on for more accurate info on the buildings...)

Why are you doing this? Because, I love Project Zomboid and the community and wish to help make this the best zombie survival game it already is! Also I have been doing a fairly large project on my own which includes my home city, but I have decided to put it on the background for a while and do something where the whole community will benefit. As to the purpose of this map, it is to be as good as (or even better  )  than the original, existing map, expanding the playable area enormously and maybe even be incorporated to the vanilla map when it is fully fledged out. Only TIS knows!

When will this be out? I wan't to play! I'm sorry to say that this being such a huge and intricate project, you're going to have to wait quite a while until it will be in any fully playable state. As in the Indie Stone fashion: No ETAs! That being said the ones contributing most can of course always make test versions for themselves and with agreement, share some versions with friends and others for testing/streaming etc. purposes. Once we get there I will publish larger alpha/beta tests for the public, but I'll say that as I'm quite the perfectionist, the map should be very much near completion at that point. Mainly this is a slow and steady project and I'm in no rush of finishing it tomorrow or the day after.

Questions, comments, ideas? Post them below or PM me personally, but as always keep it civil, constructive and lovely, above all!

If a throwing mechanic ever gets implemented, it'll probably be for distractions and a bit of damage.

Like there could be some random objects you normally find in everyday life(Bricks, glass bottles, empty cans of soda, etc.) and there are a couple of zomboids blocking your way but you don't want trouble, you could pick those up and throw it somewhere(Bricks on a window, or bottles at some wall) and they'll head to that direction on where the object was thrown. You could also throw it on the zomboids/NPC's, it won't do much to the zomboids. But it could stun the NPC giving you time to react.

DoctahWong reacted to Footmuffin in Pickiness setting
In a recent discussion on this thread, the topic of whether or not zombies eat only fresh human bodies came up and I made a suggestion for sandbox. I thought I'd ought to put it here to so people can discuss any aspects of it without derailing the other topic further.

    New sandbox setting: Pickiness!

Picky - Only eats fresh human corpses

Less Picky - Eats any human corpse it can find, fresh or stale.

Not Picky - Eats any corpse or meat it can find, human or animal, fresh or rotten.

Omnivore - Will eat any food it can find, vegetable, human, or animal, fresh or rotten.

Progressive - Starts Picky, but later becomes Less Picky, then stops at Not picky.

    Sounds nice?

Map is complete (minus buildings and such.)

There are placeholder tiles for where buildings will be placed. The map size is 6000px x 6000px. It's a huge map.Buildings and whatnot are what's left (basically everything) to make it a real fun map to get immersed in!!
    Update: 2/11/2014

    Chernogorsk

I am currently constructing the city of Cherno, with the help of Maklane, I have a couple buildings to get started, while making my own buildings for the world. If I do use other members buildings I will be sure to credit those as well. Hopefully won't take too long and I will post pictures of the progress. Thank y'all for visiting!

    Update: 2/24/2014

Getting more buildings created, been a bit busy with life, but still building on my off days and whenever I have a chance to work on them. Learned a bit about custom tiles, might have my own tiles made for the castles, from some examples I've seen online. Also will be making cracked, peeled walls, a more run down look for Chernarus. New roof tiles and so on. dead body tiles and other miscellaneous tiles for atmosphere.

    Update: 5/4/2014
Project Chernaurus will be suspended until further notice. (Due to a busy work schedule). I am very happy with the work I've been putting in to make it the best fun map to play on so hopefully I'll get back to it and get it up and running so all can enjoy in the near future. I've been out a while and haven't really updated anything but before the busy weeks I finished placing buildings in Chernogorsk and most of the map is finished. I had some random close calls with TILEZED almost failing and causing memory issues. I guess the map has so many nooks and crannies to explore which made it bigger and more memory intensive but all that is really left is touch ups and things of that nature. So even though I've finished all the easy work now is where the HARD WORK begins and where I will leave it for the time being until I have more time to myself and my hobby as opposed to WORK, FAMILY and SCHOOL. I'm sorry about the bad news!!
I will be out of contact with this forum for a while, but will randomly visit the website whenever I have a chance!! Again so sorry for the news!! Sorry for not posting any screenies, too much work and so many ways I'd like to present it and make it look nice so I guess I will wait until I have more time to.

Okay were almost ready for our first release. I'm making sure every house has light switches (yeah, it was a problem) and finding the last few invisible walls and such. I've also expanded the map out into a 3x3 to start making our way towards buildings out of town. Oh and also room definitions for loot and eventually NPC's but that's in tandem with the lights.

DoctahWong reacted to turbotutone in Erosion - Nature takes over
    The idea

To slowly have the map detoriate over time, nature grows wild and the urban areas slowly decay.

    What will the mod do?

Currently the planning is for Erosion to add the following effects to the game:

Plantlife:Nature will slowly start to take over, popping up on natural tiles. Currently plants have 6 stages (low grass to tree), only the most fertile spots will reach the maximum. Random special objects with a very low chance of spawning (imagine a dead campfire and the likes). Streets:Big cracks in the road that gradually become more intense. Patches of cracked road where grass and stuff grows through. More litter and garbage appearing over time. Random special objects with a very low chance of spawning (a pile of zombie corpses for example). Houses (exterior):Cracks that can appear on over time. Vines that slowly takover a part of a wall. Windows have a chance to be broken over time (idea by RobertJohnson) Doors have a tiny chance to pop open at some point. Random stuff like smudges and what not.

And that by doing so you'd be disrespectful to the older generation of people who take their traditions seriously as a foreigner pretending to be part of their culture, and you'd be a joke to the younger generation who don't follow the old traditions?
