Right now we have in game a "boring" automatic type of gear changing in which even stepping off the gas for a second changes you to neutral. I could see the possibility of being able to choose between the current type of gear switching and a manual way. The manual setting would make it so that one button would be gear up and one gear down (these could be rebinded after players wishes). It would make the game more challenging by having to regulate changing gears and driving at the same time. You could also make engine quality drop by driving a long time at high rpm:s but that's just a bonus. In conclusion it would make the game more fun, more challenging and the fan-base who like the current system could keep it.
