  1. My vanilla game produces journals. I have found three on my current character. I don't remember where they were looted, but they are in the game loot tables for sure.
  2. You say vanilla servers are lacking. You made a vanilla server then say it has 16 mods. So this is a modded server then, correct?
  3. LOL Thanks Folks! Didnt understand how the firewall rule would break just the gog side of my installs, was bizarre and made no sense to me. I guess that was fine. Big sorry to anyone that was playing on my gog server when I wiped all zomboid related files. "This is how you died" phUn G4M3 Do0dz - you all made a good thing!
  4. Hi, Me again, After two complete zomboid game file/folder uninstall, search and delete EVERYTHING zomboid... was still broke. Hey, this last time I deleted EVERYTHING again, yes all files...all saves, all db, everything, i didn't tell you that I also went to my windows firewall and DELETED EVERYTHING in my firewall rules that were zomboid. there was only one rule though. i didn't look at it, just removed it. reinstalled everything. and it was still broke. then I posted about it. THIS MORNING, in sheer maddening zomboid withdrawl, i looked at my firewall again. there was the one rule that windows added when i first loaded multiplayer. I went in to edit it for examine reasons. its path for the rule was my steam exe. ok. wonder why it didn't create a new rule for my gog exe locaction, or why there wasnt two rules for the 2 different exe files in 2 locations... I manually copied the steam rule and set the location to my gog install. cross fingers and loaded gog. went to the join -> internet. BINGO no error. i can see the gog servers now. Also went to my steam game then, with this new gog firewall rule. loaded up steam parameter with -nosteam launch. NO ERROR. Weird why the game broke on 41.78 and gog servers died, even through steam. and weird that it only needed one rule before (which microsoft auto created without any trouble) and both my installs could internet without a hitch. That is all for today. Love to all. except weird buggy things. if you are a weird buggy thing, get outta here.
  5. I am going to add some more info here now. This is still a problem with my GOG install and my Steam version with -nosteam in launch parameters with same error. I was curious and went to the GOG beta to install the older version of the game that used to work fine. I installed the GOG "version 41.77 - a month ago" and tried. Guess what? This error is now backwards infecting. Before I updated, and 41.77 was the latest stable, I could see the GoG server list. After update 41.78 it throws the error. And it somehow is present now if I revert to older version that was fine. I hope you can resolve this issue. Was it a windows 10 update? GOG Galaxy update? Java? Zomboid? I am sad. I want to use my GOG version for multiplayer- vanilla and my steam version for modded single player. ================== I have no old saves or files from before. I deleted all my mods, server files databases, settings, folders and EVERYTHING from "before 41.78" from both my GOG and steam folders and my users folder. Both my versions are fresh installs of current stable 41.78
  6. Ok I see. I haven't been in 41.78 yet to test vanilla anything. (Having my own troubleshooting mess to tackle.) Let the "fun" broken mod hunting begin. Good luck!
  7. in my vanilla games, strawberries have always been an ongoing crop. no need to replant every time. I'm not sure that is a bug. Strawberries are perennial plants and can continue to grow after harvest in real life. Sometimes for years.
  8. • 41.78.7 • Multiplayer attempt • Host or dedicated? - N/A • Mods? NONE everything was deleted, old saves, all mods, all folders both in GOG and STEAM. Fresh with nothing. • Old or new save? NO SAVES - fresh install both GOG & Steam copies. • Reproduction steps: Load game in GOG version. accept new LEGAL Click Join ---> Tab over to Internet Immediate ERROR No servers show. OK. Load up my Steam Game. Follow same steps. Except the legal was already accepted... When going to internet tab from the load screen JOIN It populates as expected. No errors. I see steam games. Ok.
