  1. I find most of these YT "gamers" to be very annoying and wish that there was some that were actually entertaining. People like robbaz, penquinz0 and bikestman. I don't hate fnaf but it does seem to be a stupid game that lots of the more stupid YTers gravitate toward so that they can scream like little girls and amuse whatever 10 year olds happen to be subscribed to them.
  2. I tested out how the cold system works and you can't die directly from being cold. Here's the settings I used Sandbox - No zombies - Temp, Very Cold - No clothes. A lot of the moodles are only really good for RP purposes and for giving us a good sense of what to watch out for when they are functional.
  3. If you played default survival settings you should have started in July which means that you should easily have enough food to winter out any situation? 4-5 months of looting should enable you to survive anything. If looting continues to go like it has been going for me I could probably survive a month long fever right now and by winter it will be way way more than that. I think the only thing that the cold affects right now is ???movement speed and item transfer speed??? Not even sure if you can die from the cold yet or if that has been fully implemented, but like a lot of the traits and professions I doubt it's in working order. Just tested this and yeah its only movement speed that's currently affected by the cold. Making a gravel pit is a great idea, would be nice to have a campfire in a building
  4. It would be so cool to know exactly what you guys are trying to do with the NPCs... because its all programming I imagine it is almost on the same scale of creating an organism from scratch, their in-game and survival behaviours, what actions they can and can't do, disposition when it comes to situations and how they act in those situations to seem more alive and all that. I imagine you guys starting out with something on par with an ant and then trying to develop that primitive creature into something more and more complex until eventually you have something that looks, feels, and plays like a human. It's a gargantuan task and I see it as the software equivalent of creating robots derived from the natural world, which is exceedingly difficult. A lot more money goes into stuff like that and they still haven't succeeded in creating something as fluid, dynamic and alive as any kind of living creature. I just hope you guys are enjoying working on something so unique and inspiring as revolutionary AI. If it's really really really good you could even make a ton of money by licensing it. The little snippets and teases you have given us so far of their avoidance behaviour have been pretty cool, I'll never forget that poor group of green dots in the bottom right. RIP in pieces green dots, RIP. I wish you guys the best of luck and can't wait to see how it turns out!! PZ is literally on a whole nother level in terms of gameplay and there are only a few games I would seriously compare it to when it comes to feel, scope and scale.
  5. I'm kind of for this suggestion. You could troll people so so hard in MP lol maybe fireworks could override the 100 travel distance and make it an instant 1000. That way even if an enemy groups base was way out in the woods you could cause them a lot of trouble!! You'd have to really hate someone to do that to them though
  6. Is it actually possible to clear the zone in build 32? I am not sure, but I got the impression that they are spawning much faster than I kill them, even when I used fireā€¦ In older versions of the game I actually completely cleared out Muldraugh and looted every house up as far as the highway trailer park and the Pony Corral... In the new versions with the zombie spawning system it is simply not possible... Zombies dont spawn in the cell you are actually in but they do migrate from outside that cell into yours. Muldraugh and surrounding area used to have a set amount of 7000 zombies. Thats how many I killed and the entire town was incredibly peaceful and safe bar the odd straggler. Not so in the new versions. TBH I kind of want a sandbox respawn setting of 0 with a normal zombie count. I find that much more realistic, but I understand that survival mode is meant to be not only a challenge but an impossible challenge. "This is how you died." Before that going a year or more was easy so long as you played it safe and cleared out all the zombies block by block, street by street.
  7. I made a new attack helicopter montage and wanted to show it off because I'm so proud of it! If any of you play BF4 and use the attack helicopter you'll know how insane these anti-air TOW missile kills are!! They changed the way that the TOW missiles work in the May 26th RIP SRAW update... They travel twice as fast, not as far, and you can only launch 1 at once. DICE thought they were nerfing it for the scrubs but in reality they just made them even more powerful! Muahahahaha!!! TOWs start at 0:45 but the first 45 seconds is just roadkills lol If you don't use TOWs you should think about it. Instakill to infantry, choppers and jets. 20+ damage to all armor! They really help with the ground game. Against infantry it's simply unfair and once you get experienced with them they are the ultimate jet defense, but hitting other helicopters is super super hard head-to-head. Chasing them down or surprise attacking them from range is a little bit easier. Hope you guys liked the video!
  8. The way to survive with the new zombie amounts and settings in survival mode is to find a sledgehammer IMMEDIATELY!! Then simply destroy a stairs and make your first safehouse somewhere quiet. I made a huge mistake but have survived for a month now. I thought it was longer! It certainly feels longer. Currently in my game I have secured the upstairs of Enigma Books, but after a month I have waaaaay more than a thousand zombies in the cell. With a sheet rope on every window I can always make it back without any trouble, even with the insane amount of zombies! But moving my stuff is going to be insanely hard and I kind of wish I'd picked somewhere safer for a first safehouse. A few people have mentioned warehouses and secluded, far-off houses to be the best places to set-up camp. You would be wise to listen to that advice!! Do not under any circumstances pick downtown West Point as your safehouse!! Climbing down any rope and going onto main street is literally, actually terrifying (well done devs!) and any day now I will make a mistake and die, I just know it. Sometimes when I climb down the rope I climb right down onto and into zombies but somehow I always make it out and always make it back up too even when they go through the biting animation (some kind of climbing/vaulting animation immunity?) I haven't save scummed this character yet and have survived 3 scratches... Might be a good time to do it since I'm going to start moving my entire safehouse somewhere better tomorrow. Sometimes I have to pause the game after that initial 2 block run to give myself time to stop shaking and take a breather lol
  9. I dont understand some of these free points comments, namely these ones... High thirst and hearty appetite are extremely debilititating. Slow reader isn't a free pointer either. Time is no longer money in this world, time is now hunger and thirst and the combined cost of reading all the books is at least a few days more worth of food and drink. Probably a week or 2 more realistically. Whereas being a fast reader will net you more supplies by the time you finish with the books. Speeding up time doesn't counteract this. Hemophobic IS free points, but only until npcs are released. Clumsy and conspicous are also incredibly bad for you, I don't understand how anyone would think a wider noise circle and an increased zombie line of sight angle doesn't affect gameplay. At the moment high thirst and hearty appetite mean that you have to eat and drink about 20 to 30 percent more. When you're speaking percentages anything above 25% more or less is a lot. At least in every RPG I've ever played. With a 50% buff or nerf being legendary or unheard of.
  10. I liked "Likable Lurker" better. The best injury and medical system I've ever seen is probably the one from UnrealWorld... Man I love that game.
  11. Reload difficulty bug. Haven't played much since my 8 month character got wiped in an unfortunate reformatting accident (formatted wrong disk) That reload bug has been there forever.
  12. Been playing BF since 2006. I also got COD: Modern Warfare when it came out. BF has changed a lot in these past 8 years. COD has not changed (literally the exact same game with only slightly better graphics in 2014) and is still garbage compared to any BF game. The BF games have changed massively in the past few years. BF2 was actually more arcady feeling than COD:MW but since then we've had 2142, BF:BC, BF3 (COD garbage) and BF4... all I can really say about BF4 is good-bye, I'll be back when the PZ map expansion is finished.
  13. I think it would be great if they could add random injuries... Sprained ankle = reduced capacity, slowed movement speed, 1 week - 3 weeks (depending on severity) Injured back= severely reduced capacity, all actions slowed, 2 weeks - 2 months Concussion= Reduced EXP gain, reduced reading speed, 1 week Things like this would really add immersion to the game as well. What if a player in your group is hit with the most severe back injury? What if that player has the hearty appetite perk? I would let the person live (under some conditions, like designated farmer or chef) but others may not feel like it would be worth it. Dragon Age does this pretty well but the injuries could be made more realistic than DA. They would have to be very rare. E.g. I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago for the 3rd or 4th time in my life. 27 years old, 24 years of playing football.
  14. Your English is immaculate Frank! Well done, 680 zombies with all negative traits WOW lol
  15. Oh it used to be that your character disappeared upon death a version or 2 ago. Really sucked
  16. hehe people are getting pretty good at that No Hope challenge I thought someone surviving a week was simply not possible but there's a couple of people who've made it past a month now. I can't even last a full day.
  17. I really like the wild vegetation idea and i think they have a simpler function planned in the form of mushrooms and berries and a skill to go with it. These mushrooms and berries will sometimes be poisonous and a survival skill will help you determine the edibility of your berries and shrooms. Don't quote me on that but I'm almost sure it's an already planned feature. Wild veg/crops is a very good idea maybe have them appear in random clusters within heavily wooded areas
  18. PewDiePie... So loud, so forced... can't... watch. Haha yup! Every one of my steam friends has this game now If a game is truly great it will naturally gain a loyal following from those who like it the most and this will lead to people hearing about it, seeing it and wanting to try it out.
  19. Here's some good new anime, they're all on episode 2 or 3 right now Brynhildr in the darkness Chaika the coffin princess The world is still beautiful Black bullet Gantz is fucked up (weird and trippy from start to finish) and Black Lagoon is pure awesomeness! I cringed through the first few episodes but after that it was actually a pretty good show.
  20. This feature needs to be added back in!! What people here aren't understanding is that if you are in a late game online world sometimes your character will have the only axe, screwdriver, sledge, or whatever and if that stuff disappears with your death it's gone from that world for good, and then there's no point of even continuing on that server anymore. It's actually a pretty big deal.
  21. I will update this tomorrow! I am simply too drunk right now. Btw twig im honored you took on this hopeless challenge
  22. I seriously doubt they havent dulled a bit. I used to sword fight my brother with real Wilkinson Sword cavalry swords from 20 or 19th century... those swords are completely fucked now and arent worth anything because of the damage we done. Real Wilkinson Swords not some mach 3 play things that most people have
  23. Id say canada is better man especially for work... dont know how US or Alaska is but the recession had no effect whatsoever on canada
