This looks great! One issue, though.

My only note is that the pickup truck is now far too small in comparison to the other vehicles. It definitely needs a little bit of an upscale. It also should ride a little higher than that in terms of ride height, but size is the more obvious concern. Example:

For reference, in the collision with the compact hatchback, it is clear that both vehicles are the same size, even though realistically the pickup would be much bigger.

Source: My father restored one of these (1981 1500) and I know all too well just how much harder it is to park one of these compared to my 2005 pursuit based on size alone.

It would be good to have some sort of menu, where you could set part of the body which your character will be aiming for primarily such as head, torso, L/R arm and L/R leg.

Example of menu with priority set to head:

The limb you set priority to should affect such things as Chance to hit, Min/Max damage and maybe some additional effects like Immobilization if aiming for the leg, decreased accuracy/inability to hold items in your hand for short amount of tune if aiming for the arm etc.

This would be very useful especially on MP servers if you don't want to kill anyone, but at least make your enemy "less dangerous."

This isn't obvious though. It's stereotyping. And it does change game play drastically. There are already fast/slow learner perks that make a world of difference in the game. Stout and feeble also do the same. I'm not opposed to aesthetic additions, but to tie aesthetics into game play via stereotyping may step the game back and draw a cruder audience.

That being said using aesthetic changes with traits that are already in the game would be fun for RP.

With the addition of cars, I'd be excited to see motorbikes, or even just plain bicycles. Here are my ideas on the subject:

Bicycle- a human powered vehicle that simply requires human endurance and occasional maintenance, though most of the time even slightly rusty bikes with serve you well, as long as the teeth on the chain don't bust. Has increased mobility over cars but decreased speed. Motorcycle- combines the speed and noise of a car and the mobility of a bicycle. The only negatives with these are noise and the amount of practice it takes to be any good with one. (which brings me to my next point) Riding skill- someone who has ridden a motorbike will tell you, it is a skill. Someone who has never rode before won't be able to just hop on a bike and run away with any speed or grace. It takes practice. Lower skill should cause lower speed and maneuverability, possibly (though as it would aggravate players would be better served as a sandbox setting) stalling out your newly acquired 'iron horse' Riding gear- these are the ideas I have on clothing added along with bikes Motorcycle helmet- offers head protection and negates head bites and scratches, but would make everything a little bit darker, making it difficult to use at night unless you had a light of some kind (headlights, flashlight, outdoor porch light, street lamp, etc.) Bicycle helmet- as above, except less protection and no drawbacks Leather jacket, legs, and boots- all offer protection against bites and scratches, as well as some armor Saddle bags- not always in bag form (the ones I've seen are thin metal crates strapped onto the bag and side) the offer storage, usually for tools or other equipment
This is what I've got. If you have any other ideas or concerns, please comment below. And as always, thanks for reading.

I'm not here to start a war on a forum, but I feel that a few falsehoods need to be pointed out from your post Jack.

1.) Jack you were blatantly caught duping items.  This is the reason you were banned the last time, I am not privy to the previous times you were banned.
2.) We do not have pay to win on the server.  We do offer some cosmetic perks, forum perks and other non-game changing benefits for donations to help pay for the server.
3.) All players are welcome to join in the fun.  We do not discriminate against new players, in fact, some of our best have joined the server recently.

We have problems like just about every server out there, but I felt it fair to point out the incorrect information you have here.

From what I understand several problem players still exist in the ND community. I personally enjoyed being a long term community member who was repeatedly framed and banned for daring to go against the secret meta communities that conspire to  throttle or essentially grief players whom they do not like.

I've played a lot of Project Zomboid and even set some standards and made some good contributions to the Project Zomboid community and this servers has made numerous attempts to frame me has tarnished my long-term legacy. This server used to be run by a fair and impartial guy who was really cool named Tibby, who paid for the server and didn't pay close enough attention to a select group who used democracy to stack the admin team with all their friends essentially turning the server into their little playground.

Problem was, because the majority were under eighteen years of age, they couldn't afford to keep the server running so they've resorted to pay to win tactics.

I would not recommend New Dawn as a server because it directly hampers creativity and will often stack the deck against you to advance their own personal / friends narrative. I have no doubt this post will certainly stirr some attention, and invite all kinds of slander. But I can't exactly post it on their own website because they moderate it like they are the secret police.

Tl;dr ~ Rigged playground where you exist only as long as a you bring pleasure of administrators and their friends, by sucking up and pretending they are the coolest. Enjoy server rules that are directly made to favor specific players and admins spawning themselves the best equipment. The spelling and grammar isn't so bad though.

I'll answer this because these accusations are an attempt to tarnish my legacy.

When they say /blatantly duping items/ they mean framed. There are no logs of items duped because I didn't dupe anything.
Initially I was banned for having Alice Packs they thought I /hacked/ into the game, then when I told them you could build them with Hydrocraft and cited the recipe they just changed their reason.
Nobody can cite what I duped /blatantly duped in mass/ because I didn't dupe anything. The only evidence they ever produced was me logging off in one location and logging into another. A result of loading a backup. Which I loaded because my file became corrupted because they thought adding 12 story skyscrapers with massive hordes of zombies / fixtures / textures was a good idea. The server has huge complex logs that give tons of information, if I was duping they'd easily have been able to cite what exactly they thought I was /blatantly duping./

Pretty much they make these big claims against me to try and tarnish my legacy by saying everything I did that was great or good on the server. I could only have accomplished by cheating. Which is false, I don't  even want to be unbanned from New Dawn. I wear my ban proudly.

Here's a story about one of their guys who had an obsession for me. Would go through every item in my base and try to interpret the rules in any way possible to try to get me in trouble. This guy, who is still an admin btw lol even after this.
He has considerable sway on the server. So he rigged it.
He added gun mods to the server so it allowed machine guns. Restricted drops so machine guns could only be spawned and couldn't be found randomly in boxes. Added mods that allowed extra perks / classes that gave him like +9 to aim from character creation but put it behind a gate so /nobody else could take it but a select few *Approved* individuals/ Then the guy restricted the military profession which had stats that were incredibly overpowered and made no sense how strong it was, but it was balanced because. "no one else could pick it." Then part of the class is that when they spawn they get a free machine gun with a box of ammo. Then the guy walks around and says "Look how tough I am? Have you seen my penis? it is very big and nice and impressive. I am not compensating for anything I swear."

If you go up against them, expect to deal with such problems such as. Having zombies spawned on your base, have the admins friends /accidentally/ find your base. /Random/ admin events where 3 bandit players attack your base with machine guns. People ERPing 5 feet away from you... Constantly. False accusations and let's not forget some good old fashioned cheating, one such example. Making people who are their friends invincible during pvp and when asked about it claim it was an accident.

I'm not alone either, there are big groups of people who played on ND who had to leave because the rigged favorism has made it not even worth playing because the winners and losers are decided by a select few people. Not by skill or merit, but by popularity gauged by a small group of "Superfriends."
    In the words of Coach
"This used to be a nice neighborhood."

I'm just gonna go through these w/o the quotes cuz I keep creating new lines with it (I'm out of practice!)

    1. Height: This would be kinda neat. Honestly though if there's debuffs to either side, I would go for mid height making this trait kinda pointless. Would it give extra points to spend on tall/short? Would they be the same? What would be considered a high shelf? There's many shelves with different tiers, how would those be counted?

    2. Age: This seems to draw on old worn out negative stereotypes. You're implying 18 year olds learn faster than 60 year olds. I can tell you from experience it took years for me to learn how to do things (this is not a joke, though it does sound funny). 18 year old me was much slower at learning than 30 year old me. 30 year old me has the tools needed to learn quickly and efficiently. Not only that but you don't see many 18 year olds running around with Ph.D.s in biology. On the physical side, I have to say while I may look older than 18 year old me, I still run just as fast (slow) and still lift as much weight. I can't say what this'll be like in 30 years but I think age is too variable and subjective of a "trait" to added. We have "slow learner" and "feeble" traits already if one wants to RP as an old slow learning feeble person. Aesthetically I would love to see these options though.

    3. Sex: Almost everything in this section would be a horrible addition to the game. Yes, men tend to be stronger then women on average. Also women have a higher pain tolerance and do tend to live longer. However... Pain doesn't do much at all in this game, no one lives long AT ALL EVER, so why would anyone pick a female character if men have an actual buff to strength? I think this is gender locking characters and I do detest when games gender lock roles.

    4. Face: This would be kinda neat to see. I don't want to spend an hour customizing my character though.

5(?). Nationality: Um. This game is set in 90's Kentucky. This group of people is more or less homogeneous. I'm not saying that it wouldn't be cool to see, but I think this would be great as a mod at best.

@nasKoMy only comment about the clothing video is to make sure that the amount of regular-clothed people is proportionate to the type of business. I noticed that most of the zed in the giga mart were employees and the civillian zed came in from outside, even though often the patrons outnumber the workers during work hours.

Also, It would be nice to see the different zed types have a small chance of appearing in random locations! Like having police officers/firefighters be found in places outside of stations and what not with the chaos of the apocalypse.

Probably not in the anim update, but we have a completely new gun aiming system planned that'll prob be in the hunting update after. Think of the old Commandos games with their sniper rifle sights that follow the mouse. We're going to try make shooting a more player skill based, visceral and satisfying, with less reliance on RNG with some of the FPS style mechanics like bullet spread indicators on sights, and aiming with your mouse (tho obv the bullet will still travel from the player and may hit cover etc)

And yes i oversimplyfie this a little bit but i see this from the perspective of a player and in this case its possible that i have bend the reality a little bit to get a solution for this problem.
I think we must wait what the game will bring to see if a sling make any sense for hunting an Animal. I dont believe that Animals who can smell you come to the Game (this where very cool but i dont believe this) and from this point of view i ask myself how to make it possible to bring such items like a Sling or a Blowpipe (or anything like this) to the Game without beeing to unrealistic.

Magic Mark reacted to arkonten in Replace static recipes with capability based recipes
I recently looked into PZ modding, particularly crafting recipes. Being familiar with how this works in Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, I realize that the current design in PZ makes the life of modders pretty awkward, and I imagine it's even worse for whoever at Indie Stone that is working on items/recipes. I think it is best explained with an example:

The recipe for "Slice Watermelon" is:
Watermelon keep HuntingKnife/KitchenKnife/Saw/Axe So whenever another tool that should be able to slice watermelons is added, it has to be added to this recipe (and all other relevant recipes), which is very prone to error and causes a maintenance nightmare.

For instance, the Stone axe was recently added to vanilla; perhaps it was intentional to not add it to the "Slice Watermelon" recipe (the stone edge is considered to dull compared to a metal axe edge?) but I still think it demonstrates my point (a decision had to be made for this specific recipe). And as for modding, none of the knives added by Hydrocraft (e.g. the copper knife you can forge yourself) can slice a melon; to make that happen Hydrocraft would have to override the vanilla "Slice watermelon" recipe, and then start tracking when the vanilla game updates that recipe to not lose out on the changes next time something sharp is added in vanilla (e.g. swords). These collisions also occur between mods, often requiring mod compatibility patches between every pair of mods messing with the same recipes.

I think a system where tools have capabilities would be much more practical (and intuitive!). For instance we could have the following capabilities for various tools (some new):
Kitchen knife: Cutting, Fine cutting, Drilling Hunting knife: Cutting, Fine cutting, Drilling Pocket knife: Cutting, Fine cutting, Drilling Butter knife: Cutting, Drilling Sharp stone: Cutting, Drilling Hand drill: Drilling, Fine drilling, Metal drilling Axe: Cutting, Chopping Stone axe: Cutting, Chopping And then "Slice watermelon" simply requires a tool with "Cutting" and that's it. Next time a tool with Cutting is added, it that tool can slice watermelons. Next time a recipe that requires Cutting is added, the tool is automatically usable in it. Modders and Indie Stone devs, rejoice!

To make tools more interesting we could expand this system with modifiers that allow more differentiation:
Kitchen knife: Cutting, Fine cutting (Bad), Drilling (Slow) Hunting knife: Cutting, Fine cutting (Slow), Drilling (Slow) Pocket knife: Cutting (Slow), Fine cutting, Drilling (Slow) Butter knife: Cutting (Slow), Drilling (Slow, Bad) Sharp stone: Cutting (Bad), Drilling (Slow, Bad) Hand drill: Drilling, Fine drilling, Metal drilling (Slow) Axe: Cutting (Bad), Chopping trees Stone axe: Cutting (Slow, Bad), Chopping trees (Slow) "Slow" means that if the tool is selected, crafting time is increased (perhaps it should be parameterized, e.g. "(Slow=50)" for "50% slower"), "Bad" means the result is of slightly lower quality (lower starting condition; more waste => less nutrition when preparing food).

With the above capabilities slicing a watermelon with a butter knife is slower than when using a kitchen knife, and if we use an axe we'll waste a little bit of melon in the process because the axe head is awkward to cut with.

    Clean wounds with Sterile Saline
Sterile saline comes prepackaged for use by paramedics in the field and for health care practitioners in a hospital setting. Sterile saline may be replicated by adding 1 tsp (4.2605668 grams) of salt to 2 cups ( 475 mL ) of boiled or bottled water. This solution may be used to clean wounds anywhere on the body and may be packaged and stored for later use.   Clean infected wounds with Dakin's Solution
Dakin's solution is another antibacterial agent that is used in the presence of infection. Dakin's is not safe to use around the eyes. Some pharmacies stock Dakin's Solution, but you can make it by mixing 1 or 2 tsp (5-10 mL) of liquid bleach to 1 liter of sterile saline solution. The solution should then be further diluted before using for wound care: one part Dakin's to three or four parts saline or sterile water. Dakin's solution is also good for dressing changes.

    Disinfect and Sanitize clean bandages
Water and Bleach can disinfect and sanitize clean bandages.

    Emergencies drinking water sterilization
In emergencies you can sterilize dirty water for drinking with 2 drops of bleach per gallon (3.7854 liters) of water. It tastes awful but it is effective.

These are real solution from emergency manuals and used currently in all parts of the world today.
