Here's a followup showing the whole of Muldraugh. The house with the opaque window is indicated with the 3 red question marks. Also, it's possible for players and zombies to climb through the window.

After disabling Mod Manager and starting a new save, I saw the transparent "circle" again on the zombie farthest to the left.

Version: 41.71 (Steam) Singleplayer Mod Manager, no other mods New save Reproduction steps: Find zombies out in the world. Some of them will appear to have transparent circles on their model. These persist after death, as can be seen here. Their clothing is not damaged, either. Screenshot Example:

I wasn't "Placing" the shoes (or the rest of the clothing, for that matter), I was simply removing them from the zombie's inventory and dropping them on the ground.

I'm posting here just to say that I'm getting this too, but only footwear (shoes, boots, etc.) seems to be disappearing. Shirts, skirts, and so on seemed to be in the same places they were when I stripped them from the zombie's corpse. I also dislike the feature myself since it means I have to now pick up and store footwear and other such items I don't want to lose. On top of everything else I need/want to pick up and put back at base.
