not sure really, as far as i know the creator wanted to wait until the game was more developed before he made his next series or volume. I loved making voices for this dude. I was doing pretty good, then i ended up moving and diddnt have internet for awhile then was working dam near every weekend so having the time would have been rough. Either way im as egar as you are for the next series to begin

This is one of the core components for the game that has always interested me, and with build 31 on the brink, we get first hand to experiment and play with some of these. This is what will make mutiplayer and more importantly npc's dynamic and exciting since we can never know what to expect at any given moment from anyone, pretty much like real life. Things from good to bad to (random genetic traits) like starting a new game and you character happens to be a diabetic so you may need to find sweet things to eat more often. Stuff like that makes it interesting and fresh, besides what the player can choose from. Cuz most players will try and choose the "best" traits while choosing the "least worst" ones to counter. Though the devs have plans to change that so its not so easy this random trait idea can throw you a curve ball that the player must deal with.(oh shit my player has what wrong with them?!?) moment is priceless. Anyway here is a list of all possible traits i can think of from good to evil to leadership and the like.

Some character traits have to do with your underlying values or beliefs. Some examples of these types of character traits include:

Religious Honest Loyal Loving Kind Sincere Devoted Ambitious Satisfied Happy Faithful Patient Determined Persistent Adventurous Homebody Considerate Cooperative Cheerful Optimistic Pessimistic Funny Some character traits can be bad, and you may not want these traits associated with you. Some examples of these types of character traits include:

Dishonest Disloyal Unkind Mean Rude Disrespectful Impatient Greedy Angry Pessimistic Repugnant Cruel Unmerciful Wicked Obnoxious Malicious Grumpy Quarrelsome Caustic Selfish Unforgiving A leader or person who likes to be in charge may have the following character traits:

Domineering  Boorish  Persuasive  Ambitious  Bossy  Disparaging  Picky  Sly  Cold-hearted  Rude  Self-centered Conceited   Some character traits can be consciously developed, learned or acquired. For example, character traits that you may consciously choose to learn or adopt
    include:

Educated Informed Some character traits for children include:(mind u i know kids are not planed for the game, but hey lets face it not everyone become mature, they just get taller):

Playful  Zany  Active  Wild  Silly  Affectionate  Funny  Rough  Talkative Rowdy  Smart  Fidgety  Shy  Lively  Submissive Stubborn  For example, some character traits that can be used for a main character that is a hero include:

Dauntless  Strong  Courageous  Reliable  Fearless  Daring  Tough  Brave   If character is a romantic interest, he may have the following character traits:

Charming  Loving  Affectionate  Lovestruck  Charismatic  Ugly Evil Cunning Deceptive Murderous Psychotic

Here is the problem we have:

In an ideal world, we would simply simulate a million zombies in real-time - they would all move around the map according to what they see and hear, if they're killed, they're dead permanently. Additional zombies would only ever 'migrate' in from the very edges of the map. No approximation would be going on. I think that we can all agree that this would be the perfect way for the game to operate.

I think we also intuitively know that such a system would be impossible for a number of reasons - not just the processing required for the A.I or the ridiculous burden on your net connection in multiplayer, but also the fact that the zombies would need to know about parts of the map which aren't streamed in (even if we made the map a fraction of the size it is, parts of it would still not be in memory at any given location). So that's out as a solution, by miles.

So. What can we do? How can we get the huge zombie populations that we need to give a satisfying sensation of being in the zombie apocalypse? Well, on some level, we have to cheat, just like all other games do on some level. Again, in an ideal world, you cheat in a manner which looks to the player as if you're not cheating. When you play games with incredibly sophisticated A.I. and oh my God it's so clever and amazing - this is because they cheated in a way in which it wasn't noticeable. Good job! 10/10

Now we've got a problem. We're a sandbox game. We need to give the player control over how the game operates. We need to let the player customise their experience. This means exposing the controls to the sandbox settings. Now when we cheat, we need to give you a little box in order to customise that cheat. We need to reveal that there is such a thing as migration and respawning. Without the sandbox options, we could have randomised the respawning a little and simply pretended that what you were seeing was migration. Oh! Those zombies were simulated! They must have heard a noise, wandered over, and that explains why this cleared out area now has some zombies in it. With some incredibly well phrased bullshit, we probably could have convinced a number of people that actually somehow we were able to pull off simulating that ridiculous a number of zombies.

The more technical amongst you probably would have smelled bullshit - but you wouldn't be able to say exactly how we were bullshitting.

Not so with a sandbox game. We have to expose how it works. There's no way we can bullshit our way out of this. And that means, because you know that respawning is something which happens, you're now in the position of thinking that the only explanation for some zombies being somewhere they shouldn't be is because of respawning - sort of Occam's Razor logic. And it puts us in a position where we're having a discussion in terms of those sandbox options, rather than having a general discussion about how the game feels - completely isolated from number in boxes. Once the cat is out of the bag, you can't put it back in.

Because in an ideal world, all you guys would be talking about how the game feels - and only we developers would be worrying about what numbers go in boxes to make it feel good for you.

What can we do about this? Well, we're in Early Access - there's still plenty of room to tweak the actual ways in which respawning happens, when it triggers, all that jazz - to make it feel right. But regardless of what we do, it'll still be exposed in the sandbox settings. We could obfuscate those settings by giving them fairly meaningless names, but that would then make customising sandbox kind of shit - if you're setting options whose effect is unknown.

edit: I would also like to mention in this word "cheat" heavy post, that we endevour to cheat as little as possible, obviously. I've banged on about it simply to emphasise the point that it has to happen at some point in this, and almost every game. But the fact that most times, you can see a whopping horde, turn, run off, turn, run back, and there is the same whopping horde shows that we are actually simulating in a non-cheaty way a pretty damn large number of zombies

Allo, all! For our upcoming appearance at EGX we're going to be doing a small print run of PZ posters, and we'd like some feedback regarding what size people might want   If these sell well, we'll look into printing more and/or expanding what merchandise we sell.

These will be high-quality prints, btw, not the thin kind. Giclee print on 240gsm Poster paper.

Here is a small preview of what they'll look like:

Please vote in the poll and respond below if you have any other thoughts
    Thanks!

Any thoughts on selling merchandise,so you have some extra revenue? Honestly these days you can have a costume emblem posted on shirts, coffee mugs and all that crap you can think of. I know their is a lot involved on your part, since what you would be paying has to be less then what your making obviously. Have you guys thought about it?   I would love to have a shirt of spiffo or some zombies with the logo and all the stuff.

I like a redditor's recent suggestion, personally: Make it so zombies damage/destroy dangling sheet ropes if they get in their way.

No fan of climbing zombies, but considering they can open doors with advanced navigation, it makes sense for sandbox.

That's great! IMO that would be a perfect way to nerf sheet ropes.
Maybe you run into a house with its stairs previously demolished and climb a sheet rope to its first floor, zombies follow you pull the rope down and you are stuck right there with no way down (that is if you don't have the materials to make a new one).
Though they should add the possibility of pulling the sheet rope up with you (that way caustious players wouldn't get screwed).
    Edit: typos.

the only problem is the predictable nature of zombie re-spawns.

The old system was boring because you could clean out an area by your base and never have to worry about it again...  no point making a fortress because no zombie will ever see it, let alone test it.

Now zombie respawning is predictable enough that it just becomes routine, clearing out the area after a looting trip is just routine now and when something is routine, its not more difficult, its just more time and tedium.

I used to set daily zombies but now I just set weekly because I want to get on with the game, not take out the trash every time I return from a looting trip.

Whats needed is some kind of 'random respawn' option thats similar to the electric and water.   One thing I like about the electric and the water shutting off is that you cant predict it, sometimes its early sometimes its late,  sometimes both go off sometimes one a time.  I tend to pick 0-2 months.

Maybe zombie respawn options can be changed to 0-3 days, 0-7 days, 3-7 days, 7-14 days or maybe just 'completly random' I just dont like the thought of being able to configure respawn options.

Maybe it could also be linked to 'time played'  so that the first month there is no respawning, 1-3 months its 7 days, 3-6 months it becomes daily...  so that the game becomes more difficult the longer you survive.. not easier, which is still the current status.

I think it would be awesome if we could craft a flashlight on are shotguns, rifles, hell even pistols. There's been many times in the dark that combat is needed, and we can't even see where were going half the time. Maybe its just me but i feel this feature would be very helpful indeed. All you would need is some duct tape, or maybe even some less durable but usable thread or twine, though that might come loose after awhile.

Man I'm already waiting for Polo to get bumped off, i can see what that guys already about, sure not of much use at the moment. Well Wilson sure does have some morals at least. I'm surprised after everything so far that he didn't kill Father P. Oh hey a suggestion for ya, you need to edit your very first post on this forum. You should tidy up all the current listing of the episodes, there kinda of scattered at the moment. If i was use ide just post all episodes you do to that first post and have them number listed. Just my 2 cents friend.

Between Dr.Webb and Polo i can see another pycho in the wood work. Its only a matter of time, before this guy goes crazy and starts killing people in the name of god or some shit like that. At least that's what i would expect form a religious person during a zombie outbreak. The need to start sacrificing people so they can be safe for a day, shit like that. I guess were find out soon enough.
