  1. Actually it's incredibly difficult to make chain mail. While medieval games have lots of it, in reality only royalty and the richest nobility could afford to go to battle in chain mail armor.
  2. I agree that from a realism standpoint, having a lighter, newspaper, axe and planks on my person and not being able to light a fire is kind of weird. But at the same time, I also see why lighting campfires needs to be kept difficult. I also don't get why I need logs to keep the fire up and why planks aren't useful.
  3. OP read this please: Link The devs intend this game to be a more or less accurate representation of the Romero style zombie apocalipse simulation. As such, special Zombie types are out of the question. The only extras that are planned I think are zombies in special gear, like riot police zombies or military zombies with body armor.
  4. I also approve of this idea as long as tripping over is not a random occurence. For instance: Running on a paved road it would be almost or completely impossible to fall over, but moving through the woods would carry higher chances. This way the survivors would have to make a decision between moving fast and effortlessly on an open road that may be much more dangerous, or choosing the less populated woods to travel, but risking worse combat environment if things do go south.
  5. I agree that there should be a way to stay alive after being bitten. Some form of medicine should be available to stave off zombification as long as you take it every few days. Right now a single bite means you might as well restart the game cause the next few days are just a pointless wait for the reaper. Armor would be a good alternative also, to lower the chances of a bite penetrating the skin.
  6. Some good ideas there. Some comments: # 1 - It's not a bad idea, but I think such a skill should only become really useful when it's maxed out. We don't want to dissuade people from exploring further because they have level 2 tinkering and now they can use the same knife for a year. Though when you look at the sheer size of the gameworld, I find it difficult to believe that someone can loot it all before getting zombified. #2-3 - I think of multiplayer games more in the context of rather large groups of survivors. So 8-10 people from around the world IRL comprise the group so at least 2-3 can always be up to protect the safehouse. Of course guard NPC-s are a good idea to bolster the ranks in case the horde lays siege. #4 - Actually I think keeping the supplies is unrealistic. It makes restarts too easy if I know from the get go that I just have to reach that house and I'm golden. Loot should get redistributed on restart IMO.
  7. Hi everyone! I found the game on steam, and decided to spend my self imposed monthly game allowance of 1 on picking it up. I'm absolutely loving the game thus far, have put in about six hours of gameplay. The atmosphere is right on the spot, I'm getting a Fallout kind of vibe from it with a hefty amount of extra depression, so five stars for that. After taking a look of the what not to suggest list, I'm left with one suggestion that I'd like to share: From scavenging the few sorrounding houses I managed to get so much food that I could sit around in my safehouse for a week if I chose to. This of course is kind of boring. Once I killed the 5-6 zombies in the vicinity, I only got a few extra runners when an alarm went off in one of the houses, and I was able to hammer those down as well. After that my safehouse was pretty much literally safe. No more Zombies came close anymore. - Give groups of Zombies a wandering behavior: If small groups of Zs were wandering around the map instead of just standing and shambling randomly a little, it would make for a more eventful gameplay. I'm talking about 3-4 person groups at first, and then larger ones as months pass to simulate food getting scarce for the unliving. They could randomly stop at a house and break doors and windows, move around a little and then move on to another house. Of course not all the houses, and even if they manage to get into yours, you could still chose to hide from them or to fight.
