i was playing on public server and noticed that cars move much slower than in vanilla SP. i found out, that host changed "speedlimit" parameter.
first thing you mention - cars move slower and if you set cruise control - it doesn't matches speedometer, so, for example, if you set 15mph cruise - on speedo it shows around 30mph (as i found out later - host set this parameter to 60, while default setting is 70, which i assume is a % from vanilla SP speed). the problem is - cars become slower, but the game still think that they go fast. so as in example - car's actual speed, according to cruise control - 15mph, but the game thinks that car moves 30mph, like speedo shows. and this mismatch is a huge problem, because the game calculates everything like you drive fast, while you drive slowly
this mismatch affects a lot of stuff about how cars work, like: cars recieves more damage from collision; cars struggle to tow other cars; feels like cars have much less power and every other aspect about cars.
cars overall feels off
many players probably won't feel it, cos they not use cars very often, or just never played single, cos they just bought the game and started in MP right away. but for me, as a car guy, who likes cars and drive them pretty often and played SP - i can feel the difference
this feature of reducing the speed with "speedlimit" parameter should be reworked so it will affect ONLY speed of cars and nothing else
