  1. Hello! Thinking about joining, but put off by the Zero progression. Is there no way to increase skills at all after rolling a character?
  2. In an attempt to breathe new life (undeath) into this thread.
  3. Great Mondoid. Grats all around, but especially to RJ. Is this your first? Everything in your world has just changed, and it is an amazing thing. And Victor is adorable.
  4. Longest was a tad over 6 months, on an RP MP server. Max carpentry, cooking, aiming, most other skills decent. Died from getting so wound up in an RP conversation that I stopped watching my hunger.... I starved to death with food in my inventory and years worth of stockpiles half a screen away. Other than that time I rarely make it to the one month mark. I usually die getting over confident with my axe skills, catching a bite on a routine sweep.
  5. I usually carry a saw, hammer, nails and an axe everywhere I go, and build chairs at strategic locations, maybe with a fire pit.
  6. I would have to agree with Demonic Kat. There is already enough trash, and clutter. I mainly play MP and this would just bog down and trash servers even more.
  7. The new build seems to run smooth as silk. This is a MUST HAVE on any rp server.
  8. They are mad because death in PZ is permanent. Sucks to lose your character just cause someone wanted whatever gear you happen to have on you. Course, they dont have to play on a pvp server...
  9. In answer to your questions... Large Cities : These in THEORY could be done, but looking at the amount of work that appears to have gone into even a small community like the New Denver map I imagine it would be a mountain for one person to tackle. There is a height limit of 8 levels also at the moment so true to life skyscrapers are out of the question. (Whch blows my first suggestion to you, I SOOOO want an Atlanta map...) As large maps go, I personally LOVE them. However it is possible to do a very large map with no huge cities. Now for the suggestion : Savannah, Georgia. It is a large area but not over urbanized, with not a single skyscraper. Nice layout, the terrain is flat so you dont have to fool around with the headache of changing a hilly terrain to a flat one on your map, theres a river, plenty of parks and wilderness, and a army/air force base right in the middle of it. Would be happy to serve as an info source for you, I lived there for 14 years. Hell, since I am starting classes in programming soon I'd be happy to help do some of the grunt work in making it happen too. EDIT: Forgot to mention being a historical city there are plenty of images available online, as well as plenty of opportunities for unique models, if thats your thing.
  10. I'd settle for a parka. Someones gotta be working on a parka right?
  11. Could at least give it a limited number of uses, kinda like a book, you use the yoyo once, maybe twice, and then youre done.
  12. It is unrealistic, but I love it. My biggest draw to this game over every other zombie game is you're NOT a survivor. This is the story of how you die. So if you seem to safe, you're surviving the hordes, then maybe the hordes wernet what killed you. Maybe it was the flu. Or your appendix. Or Raiders. Or maybe it just took a horde the size of wyoming to finally batter thru your 8 months of fortifications. Love it. That being said, I would like an option in sandbox to turn it off too.
  13. @ Waib - Nice start up there! Can't wait till screenshots aren't wonky. @ d00de - Thanks. Yeah I've had some crash issues too, mainly when I take a screenshot. Or change resolution. Or open my skill tab. Or randomly. Still, even with all the bugs I do so love this game. @ fireglobe - Ya Ive spawned in that neighborhood before, I like. Was quite, at least at first. Newb that I am however, I have no idea how it gets later. Looks pretty secure, lotsa wilderness... Another update after some screenies.
  14. Update on Amy Johnson... Before attempting to ransack the school, I scoured a few more houses close by looking for a weapon better than my frying pan. Set off quite a few alarms but was able to stay hidden every time. Maybe the alarms pulled the horde away from the school..... After securing some food, medicine, a golf club and a bag of hammers I made my way home to find a broken window and the door ripped off the hinges. Guess Zed came passing thru while I was out. The bedroom still seemed secure so I tried to quickly load up some supplies, when one of the nasty thing grabbed me and scratched my hand in the process. New I shoulda gotten my hearing checked before the Apocalypse! Even with ear protection, you can only use a jackhammer for so many years... I took it out with one well placed shot to the skull. Feels good to swing that club I must say. Ive always been something of a germaphobe, so I thoroughly cleaned and dressed the wound, popped some pain pills, grabbed my meager food stores, and barricaded myself in the bedroom. After a cold can of beans I began to worry about what kind of horrible infection a scratch from one of those thing could bring on. Just to be safe I poured some of my whiskey on it before bed. Then drank the rest. I awoke feeling a bit queasy. And MORE than a bit nervous. I decided to stay in and rest today. I have no idea how long I stayed in bed. My fever came and went, and I consumed all my pain pills trying to fight back the agony. Sometime in there I replaced the pain pills with sleeping pills, I had 3 bottles of those. Luckily I came to enough to realize I had gone through my food stockpile pretty heavily. My fever had receded, and I began to wonder if my doctor was right all those years, and it truly was all in my head. Feeling pretty spry, I guzzled an orange soda, refilled my water bottle, and donned my golf club. I had vision of a heroic assault on the school, hit and run, misdirection, stealth and skull bashing. The reality was pretty anticlimatic. There were NO Zeds anywhere near the front of the school. I beelined it to the cafeteria and lo, there was much rejoicing! Good stockpile of dry goods, some fresh food (which I gorged myself with immediately) and lots of pots and pans. I consolidated everything in a duffelbag and left it in the cafeteria while I explored a bit more. I didnt encounter a single walker as I made my way to the library. THERE was a treasure trove! Cooking, carpentry, heck even farming manuals for the FFA kids! Not to mention plenty of reading material. Even during the end of the world, theres nothing fun about spending all day cooped up inside. Hell, ESPECIALLY during the end of the world. I managed to haul the food home by 1 PM. I left the books stuffed into a couple of schoolbags. Its still early in the day so I better make use of the daylight. Once more into the breach dear friends.... or some shit like that.
  15. Meet Amy Jackson Oddly, same house as my first attepmt. No fridge in it OR the ones directly adjacent. http://pzmap.crash-override.net/#0.7864310141693773,0.11627227055510807,153.60000000000008 First day, looted both houses adjacent and the one around the corner. A little food in the last house I checked. Not a single melee weapon other than forks and butterknives. 2 pistols and about 20 rounds tho, and 24 for the shotgun when I find it. Threw up some sheets at home, thinking about going balls out and raiding the school since its so close. Do or die, right? My poor, sad, fridgeless abode. Nice start there d00de!
  16. Yes, but you have to make sure the framework you hang multiplayer upon is sturdy They completely understand the draw. It will come to pass. Patience, young padawan.
  17. Love reading all these attempts! Hopefully tomorrow I'll actually get a chance to try again heh.
  18. Awesome start there uberevan, specially for a trailer hehe. Hoping to get the time to start a new game tomorrow
  19. Niiice. what profession/traits? And how do you link to a specific point on the map? @ ubereven - seems i read somewhere if you remap screenshot to something other than f12 (f10 was mentioned) that it fixes it. Cant verify tho.
  20. Noooooo!! Sorry to hear that uberevan. And yes steele, fences around your house are not only fine, but encouraged! Kids today got no respect for other peoples lawns!
  21. Dunno, for sure quesy when I woke, fever by the time I got overwhelmed. New build, maybe they changed it? Started a new one myself, will post screenies later.
  22. My first attempt only made it 1 day 19 hours. Unemployed lucky claustrophobic living in Westpoint a block or so from the school. In a small one story house without a fridge. Found a pistol, 20ish rounds of ammo, and a baseball bat right off, however, no food. Loooots of zombies in the immediate vicinity, took out a few and managed to make it into my neighbors house thru an unlocked window. No fridge here either, but a crate.... with a fire ax Sadly, newb that I am, if forgot to close the window, and as I was equipping it, a Zed grabbed me and managed to land a scratch before I dispatched it. Still clinging to the hope that I wouldn't become infected, I grabbed half my rounds and proceeded to run up the street, yelling and popping caps to lure the bulk of walkers away from my home. Quick cut thru the trees and double back to my now "safer" house, with time left to loot another house (more ammo and a little food) and make it home for dinner and a 9 o'clock bedtime. Upon waking, however, it became obvious i was infected. Loaded up on ammo, grabbed the ax, ate all my food, and headed out to meet my fate. I wouldn't be headed home again.
  23. The rules to this challenge are fairly simple. New character in Survival Mode.Muldraugh or Westpoint chosen randomly.Random profession. Yes, include unemployed as an option. For traits, if you wish to have any the negatives must be random. You may spend the points you gain on any positive trait you can afford. You may decide to not take a negative you have randomly rolled, however, you may not roll again if you do.And now, for the heart of it. You are now a random person in a random house. But its YOUR house. And you'll be damned if any stinking zombies are gonna run YOU off. The only construction allowed is in your starting house. That is your one, your ONLY, safe house. Feel free to sleep away from home, but no construction elsewhere! Barricading temporary reprieves away from home is pushing it a little, but still allowed. Don't overdo it tho, it's YOUR lawn you're worried about. I am still a bit of a newb, so suggestions/criticism are more than welcome. Just don't be a douche. Not that I've seen much of that at all from this community. EDIT: Mathas if you see this I would love to see a "Let's Play". From watching your recent exploits you have... interesting luck.
